Pretty sure it was scripted, you can tell the laugh is a nervous one, regarding Catherine Deneuve's age, who in real life is at least 10 years - if not more - younger than Bardot, but still she was in her mid 70s then.

Now I'm able to pronounce an English H. I can say hi and not I to salute someone. At school, our English teachers don't teach us to pronounce the letter H in the English style. And we also don't pronounce the S of the end of the words, the letter S is mute too. A lot of our letters are mute in French by example the W is pronounce in the German way like the letter V. jv Evidently, you don't know much about the great history of "straight men" in comedy. Lou Costello was nothing without Bud Abbott to set him up. Without Cecily, Kate would have less to take off on . And Cecily's retorts were priceless, calling attention to Bardot's insanity, like the perfect one you linked to ! To call her "poor Cecily" shows a lack of understanding of her role and just how important it actually is.
