Welcome to this weeks grocery haul. I did a quick trip to Walmart to get a few items and on a separate day I went to Superstore. I didn't need school snacks this week or milk. 🙂

Loved the haul, Lindsay! The deals you always score never cease to amaze me! 😁 And poor sweet, Emily! I totally understand. It’s hard being her age. Glad dad came to the rescue, even after all you did to try to keep her happy!

That curb side heavy item deal is amazing and I wish my neighbourhood did that. We often 'trash pick' stuff that other homeowners leave out but it would be great if it were an all neighbourhood event. We have found some gems-my entire finished basement is almost all curb side treasures. Love the items you got-that little wood table is adorable. Great grocery haul too-lots of 50% off stickers-woot woot.

We have this type of curbside pickup once a year. I love going and seeing what's around, you never know what someone might get rid of. 😊Love that you were able to just about furnish your basement with curbside items!! So much better than it sitting at the dump! Hope you're having a great week! 😊

Great finds on the side of the road, especially that laundry basket and the ice-skating aids. I have to say you caught the cutest video of the girls when they were walking into the store holding hands with each their grocery bags, it was so sweet because they weren't posed, who would have guesses that things would go downhill so quickly for sweet Emily. I guess you just never know how kids will act at any given time, they can be sweet as pie one moment and a raging fire the next. One time I left my cart at a store with customer service and told them I'd be back, I had to bring my daughter home because she was throwing a really big fit, I brought her home and left her with my mom, much like Emily she was inconsolable, when I got home she had had a snack and was sleeping in bed, she woke up like nothing had happened. Lots of good stuff in your shopping cart this week, we bought a lot of the same in our shopping trip yesterday, apples, oranges, bananas, hotdogs, and more. Thanks for sharing the grocery haul with us this week, hope you're all having a good one.

Tania, when I was editing this video, I thought the exact same thing about Emily! She started off so well!! Lol things went down hill quick for her. I also left my cart with customer service, I didn't want to lose my discounted items! Lol Told them I'd be back in about 5 minutes. She has since apologized for "screaming at the store" lol and will still randomly tell me she's sorry. Lol I gope you're having a great week so far. 😊❤️

Haha you have to let us know what your mom says/said when she finds the painting. Poor Emily. It’s soo hard at that age when they don’t understand you can’t buy everything. Great hauls :)

Hi Lindsay 👋 😊 Great haul. When I lived in New Brunswick I remember the deposits on cans/bottles and once a month I'd bring it all the the collection center for reimbursement. I lived in Florenceville. I love those potato patties also. Love hotdogs around the fire. It's a rainy day today here 🌧. I go shopping alone lol. Great finds on the heavy pickup day. You just never know what someone's going to throw out. 😢Have a great day!

Thanks, Dyann. I typically shop alone too, or with one of the older kids. This is just a phase with Emily, hopefully it doesn't last long. We save our cans too, and when we have a few we'll take them to the recycling depot. I usually save that money for a treat for the kids. It's a beautiful sunny day here today! Love that even as a grown up you are leaving a surprise for your Mum ❤. We don’t have heavy pickup in HRM but we do have curbside giveaway in June. Great weekend to take the kids on a treasure hunt.

I love to keep my mom on her toes! Lol the painting is currently in one of her bedrooms, I'm waiting for her to notice (unless she happens to watch this video first lol). The kids enjoyed treasure hunting, never know what you might find! Have a great day! 😊

What’s the $1.20 deposit for? Never heard of that here in Ontario

We pay a 10 cent deposit on each can. You can return them to the recycling depot and they'll give you 5 cents back for each one.

@@mominthemaritimesthe deposit is mandatory here federally in the US. I always found it a great way to have my kids to take resonsibility for environmental reasons, and the money they'd collect from the return went into their savings/spend on myself account.

@@CarolgTX we collect them too and when we have quite a bit, we'll take them to the recycling depot. I usually get the kids a treat with the refund. 😊

@@mominthemaritimes when my son was 6 through 8 years old, he took the responsibility very seriously😅. He'd make sure to clean every can/bottle thoroughly. Once cleaned, he would store them in a bug safe bag in the garage until he had collected an "appropriate (his word, not mine)" amount and off we'd go to the recycling center. Then he'd either deposit the funds in his savings account, or if he had saved up for a while, off to Target we'd go for a splurge! My daughter also did the recycling, but with much less gusto. The only time she cared was when she'd get envious of the stuff my son could buy himself. Fast forward to adulthood, they've switched rolls!!! She learned the lesson, while the lesson lessened for him🤣🤣
