Weekly Vlog: Badminton Horse Trials and L'Occitane Goodies (Plus a few dramas along the way!)

This week's vlog begins with Sigh providing some fantastic guidance to Coco in the sand school, followed by a brief moment of panic with a B&B booking mix-up - every host's worst nightmare! Thankfully, it was quickly resolved (and I must admit I was relieved to have one less set of sheets to iron that evening!).
We enjoyed an incredible day at the Badminton Horse Trials. The weather was perfect, the events were thrilling, and the company was wonderful. We explored various stands, found some fabulous pieces from Kaho Prints, Salthouse and Hicks and Brown, and connected with old friends over a delicious picnic with a few bubbles.
I also received a generous gift from L'Occitane, including their amazing almond shower oil, which my daughter and I both love - I've had to buy her her own bottle to protect mine! As a huge fan of their products already, I'm super excited to try their new Almond goodies.
After a busy week and some unexpected challenges such as the AGA going kaput, the tumble dryer acting up and a horse flat out refusing to load... it's safe to say I'm ready to unwind and relax!

Goodness, what a week! 3 hours to load Santana 😱 you must have the patience of a saint, but I guess it’s just a battle of wills! I hope you don’t have to go through that again xx. Loved the bit on Badminton, I watched it on the telly, would love to go one year, will you be going to Burghley? All the new clothes and accessories you brought looked fab, the hat looked great. What a week! Unfortunately I was on my own for an hour or so then a lovely lady came to help me without whipping her otherwise we would have had a problem on our hands for the future! She is going to have a holiday then Alec is coming back. She is also in season so that didn’t help! Xx

Oh my goodness what a week you’ve had !!! Badminton looked utterly beautiful …the weather and not to mention the shopping !! It’s now on my bucket list for 2025 , so I’ll start saving now 🤣 So putting all the dramas aside , another very enjoyable vlog and I hope you have a better week. My dog also brings sticks in from the garden, and is also prone to taking kindling or small logs out of the log basket and chewing those! It's a good job we love them! Oh my - 3 hours to load Santana, you looked so exhausted, my heart goes out to you! I'm playing catch up on your vlogs so I'm hoping things have improved for you 🤞🤞

Aww Charlie what a week!! When you said 3 hours my heart sank for you and coco and all your hard work. I have two chestnut mares who are now 20 and they do get better but still have their days 😂 I hope you managed to destress and next week is better ! Loved your vlog as always ❤

Really enjoyed your horsey vlog, haven’t been to Badminton for a while but said we must try and go next year. I lost my dear Mum at Easter, she came to live with us for the last 2 years of her life so there are so many memories here and it can be something small that can bring tears we just have to give ourselves time. I am Executor of the will so doing all of that stuff as well. What a mare literally, I always loved mares but did have a chesnut pony and she was not kind. Other mares were lovely. I am sure you will get there with her.😊

Oh my gosh Charlie, what a week! I loved looking around Badminton with you, I actually passed there on one of the days on the way to Cirencester and thought of you! I’m not horsey (although watching your vlogs is enlightening me to the horse world) but the SHOPPING! I didn’t realise there was such good shopping at horsey events! I might have to go one day 🤣 I’ve also ordered a Jilly Cooper to read, giggling to myself as I did! 🤣

Bless you Charley,that mare is playing to the Gallery she is not frightened off anything no reason why she should not walk in.!may be a smack up the rear end. 3 hours you can't have that waiting for you at the end of a lesson or Event.cocos riding has improved so much so much stronger and deep in her seat.keep ploughing on be quick tu Reward and quick tu give a smack.Good Luck love your vlog each week an Irish fan.

Thanks Mary unfortunately a smack up the rear doesn’t work with her, she shoots backwards kicks out and turns into a fire breathing dragon so we just have to keep it calm etc! I was on my own for over an hour so that didn’t help! She is having a holiday now for 3 weeks then Alec is coming back xxx
