@Pochitaman30
"How Ussop saw the land first?" He saw the name Baratie from afar in a foggy sea. Seeing land on a clear sky is light work for him
@kvoltti
What I really liked about the Garp Zeff stuff is that they are both the same. They want their kids to be safe and happy but both go from different angles.
@stalhein62
The scene where Nami finally asks Luffy to help was what I was going to judge the whole adaptation on, and they nailed it.
@troikas3353
I really think Rudd had the hardest job by far in this adaptation. She had to play a very reserved, even cold, character in a show full of larger than life personalities without letting herself get lost in the crowd, she had no awesome action scenes or wacky powers/gimmicks to help spotlight her, her actual dialogue was fairly minimal meaning so much relied on her non-verbal acting, and her role puts her in an antagonistic position against not just the heroes but against a character as ridiculously likable as Luffy played with equally ridiculous levels of charisma by Inaki. Her character likely could easily have ended up being an irritant to the audience with a less talented actress just because of how her arc is structured yet she manages to make it work. That is a very thankless role and yet she really crushed it.
@ClandinShadow
One of the very few issues I have with this Arc was changing Nojico from the one person Nami trusted, retaining the family Bellemere died for, too another duped villager
@insomniacg
Fun fact: a bunch of characters get a unique laugh in the manga, eg. Luffy gets "Shishishishi", Buggy's is "Gyahahaha", one of my spoilery favourites gets the delightful "Yohohohoho, etc. so yeah, that's Arlong's "Shahahaha"
@corynydam2361
Everyone hates Arlong. He beats up baby koalas.
@hardcorehakon
The reason everyone knows who Garp is, is he has the same last name!
@stevencavanagh7990
Does anyone else think Nerdy would kill a Cosplay of Zeff?
@GemniTwin7201
The reason everyone knows is older people would remember the newspapers about vice admiral monkey d. Garp.
@sohailsadaqat6684
Old era Pirates or people with high-level information knows Garp's full name, as Garp spent his life chasing them down. So people would start guessing he is part of Garp's family. But not everyone would knows that. Sepecially after meeting Luffy who is too much like Garp (in anime)
@sleepysera
Yay, it got Clarus 😂 Man, that scene is just so good!
@55meds
I love these reactions, such a great mix of perspectives. Nerdy as a semi-seasoned fan and Clarus as a fresh set of eyes and me as a total One Piece fanatic 😂
@volsirk
You know i like the change that Zef figured out which famous monkey grandpa this Luffy must have. I find it telling and sweet that a career pirate was happy to have his adopted son ship out with a monkey for a captain. Someone he knew who would also value food and travel and helping people out. I think it's so funny that this is the one time zef gets to brag about their progeny, and garp is just trying not to be horrified cause he was right there when even the world's greatest pirate died.
@UnknownFilipino
Everything was great. just one criticism, they kinda misfired on the context of Bellemere's sacrifice. In the live action it kinda appear as if she stupidly says "I have 2 children" to display that she is a proud mother, but in the manga they explain her sacrifice much better. In the manga, while Arlong and his gang were extorting Bellemere, Genzo tells Nami and Nojiko to runaway to the sea on a row boat. The problem with that plan is sure they'd be able to escape for now, but they'd eventually die out there in the sea with no food and water. So with Bellemere knowing this fact, she decides to to sacrifice herself by telling Arlong that she has 2 kids. At the surface it may seem she's just saying this cause she wants to convey that she is a proud mother, but at a logical sense she knows Nami and Nojiko won't survive out there on a rowboat in the sea with no food and water. Hence the honorable sacrifice explained.
@versandlukas
It actually makes sense that everyone knows. Garp is Hero of the Marines. Everyone knows his name is Monkey D Garp. So if you run into a teenager running around like "Im Monkey D Luffy" the first thought should be "probably related." So Im glad they did this
@ste6616
Aarlong attacking the village doesn’t make sense as he went to the trouble to use Nezomi to take Nami’s money and it wouldn’t be tied to him directly. But then went after the only leverage he has on Nami.
