I LOVE my Aubonacci! Great root lift! Here is what I have learned: 1) you need some sort of holding agent at the root (i.e. salt spray, foam, gel) 2) the user who suggested using the tool parallel across the part is right and 3) once you grab the hair with the fingers you need to lift it off the scalp a little before you start rolling. Hope that helps. I haven't been using my tool much lately because I've been airdrying. Thanks for doing this. It reminded me that I already own the sorcery.
@FreetheTongue
@FreetheTongue Год назад
When you say "parallel across" the part do you mean ===== parallel (one line is the tool other is the part) or + (one line tool other line part)? If I'm making sense? LOL
@reviled1
@reviled1 Год назад
@@FreetheTongue You are making sense. When I was thinking about my response to the comment it occurred to me that I probably actually meant perpendicular to the part. So.....let's see if I can describe this appropriately. So the part of your hair goes from front to back. I like to use the tool from side to side across the part. So the tool is perpendicular to the part sort of the same way you might use a curling iron across a part. Of course, because curly/wavy hair is finicky there are also areas where I have to use the part and the tool in a line like a road along a river. I hope that makes sense. The biggest thing though is truly with lift off the scalp first.

I find theres almost always a *learning curve* with new hair tools. Practice helps but takes some time. Do agree about a texturizing product for roots.

When I saw you use it in the front of your hair, I knew it was going to work on that part of your roots. Literally around 30 years ago, my mom and I were at the mall, and someone approached her to take a tool like that for free if she would use it and fill out a survey in the mail. I basically kept it because it was good at making voluminous/high bangs (remember, this was 30 years ago, so big bangs were still kind of a thing).

Giant peacock bangs!😂 I remember those days! My best friend and I would spend a long time getting our bags to go up and then we'd used a blow dryer & small round brush to have the very top curl back... the end result was it looked like when a peacock spreads his feathers lol 🦚 😆

Thank you for reviewing this. I'm so interested to try it since seeing it on Amazon. My hair is more medium and dense, so I'm not sure how long any lift would hold for me. And there is the price point. I suppose I could put it on my Christmas wish list. 😉 On an entirely different note, enjoyed all the fun plopping & diffusing music you edited in. 🎶 🙌

They used to make something just like that in the late 70's early 80's that was supposed to help form curls I think. I did a search 6-9 months ago looking for the like again and didn't find much. Thank you for sharing this!

Here’s a free tool: your hand! Whenever I diffuse I start by lifting my bangs area up and drying it 100% while held up. Then I move on to the rest of my head and usually finish upside down. I also focus some of my hold product on that area. It really helps with volume in that spot but it makes for tired arms.

Yeah... so... part of the reason I started wearing my hair curly was so I didn't have to have a brush in one hand and a drier in the other. I've done enough round brushing while drying my hair to last me a lifetime.

No problem! Yes it is a little pricey. You could try styling and diffusing (to start) up side down. Some people use smaller clips and clip at the roots after diffusing part way and then air drying. Also I got these clips and they helped! I bought one of these about 15 years ago at a beauty supply store. It was a simple molded piece of plastic, less than $10. I didn’t know what to do with it but I kept it. When I started doing my hair curly I pulled this baby out. My fine low density hair LOVES it. My hair is shorter than yours and a bit layered. I twirl a piece of wet hair in it (with my favorite curlsmith soufflé) and I get gorgeous ringlets. $54.99 is such a ripoff but the concept is freaking awesome for those with fine low density hair. My tool is a lot lighter and I can twirl it with my fingertips. No way could I do that with the Aubon, whatever. Lol. Love your channel, Courtney. Keep up the good work!😊

I had an advertisement for this pop up on Instagram, thought it looked great. Went to check it out, but was blown away by the price. Big nope. I got to thinking about a substitute, grabbed my plastic spaghetti scooper and tried using that for volume. It definitely added volume at my roots!! Mine has a hole in the bowl portion, so that may have helped -- I put it tines ends down, on either side of my roots and pulled up, pulling the hair away from my scalp, then used my diffuser. Pretty great results for a $2 item!

Another lefty here! Thanks for the review on this hair tool. As a fine hair women with C2 curls, I'm always looking for a way to get volume on the top of my head. I'm not sure about this tool. It looks like its more work than it's worth. Plus its terribly expensive for it. I will pass on this but thank you for the review on it.

I had tried this a few months ago. I ended up returning it. For the price, it didn’t work any better than root clipping. My hair is fine/medium wavy, medium density and tends to be less curly on top.

Having never read the instructions for this product, I could be completely wrong about what I’m going to suggest. What I would do for the hair on the top of your head where your part is hold the instrument parallel to the part. In other words, go in the directions that your hair goes. I know how you feel, I’m a lefty too.😀

Sorry, unrelated to this video, but I wanted you to know I had a bad experience with a vendor you recommended: Faithful & Co. I ordered 5 shirts for me and some friends. One came with tomato sauce stains on it. When I asked for an exchange, they asked me to wash it first. Also, after I washed it (also hand scrubbed the stains), the color of the print faded a lot. Though they eventually sent me a replacement, I will not purchase from them again. I bought three shirts from you (two or three years ago?) when you were making them and they have never faded. They still look great and are among my favorites. ❤️
