Yes, we contemplated it, but the 2.6hp turned out to be a better solution for us. And we need affordable high-speed for our primary outboard. Currently, electrics don't fit the bill, but I wish they did. It's going to be awesome in the near future when engines are all silent electric!
He didn't. He was the most recommend in the area, but actually "discovered" more wrong with the engine that I hadn't noticed before. We were so done with it that he now has it to do with as he pleases.
