The Loporrits being placed in between Garlemald and Thavnair was a blessing to me. I don't think I couldn't handle the back to back gut punches of those areas without the levity.
Yeahhh, my entire body was coiled like a spring during that. When Estinien dropped in, S T A R D I V E R style, i jumped on my chair and screamed, just had to. Such relief.
I highly disagree with the thought that a baby can't feel despair. What is a child's primary instinctual need as an infant? Security and being provided the basics to live. Sure, everyone knows that. But I posit that they also need attachment, and I mean RIGHT out of the womb. Immediately. The infant in this story has no capacity to use logic or conscious methods to cope with what s/he feels and experiences, unlike and adult. Thus, the infant has a far greater chance of turning. I think the writers agree, as what ended up stopping the child's transformation? Attachment to Vritra.
Pint needs a rule, that any time he decides to fuck with his HUD in content it means something he should pay attention to is guaranteed to happen and he needs to not do it lol.
So there's this thing called rising and falling action in writing, if it's always high action you get desensitised to it, so it's good to have a slower moment in between the climactic points
I like the first boss of this dungeon's aoes "what is right?" and "what is left?" on 1 hand its the ff14 devs being the ff14 devs on the other is just a little bit of existential dread
The real reason is probably warm breath or something, but I like to imagine the real reason Vrtra was able to calm the baby was that he was able to speak to their mind using the dragon language (ie Hraesvelgr and Tiamat's storytimes) in a way that no human or humanoid's spoken dialect ever could.
I recently watched some documentaries on cults and the common people of Sharlayan are lucky that their leaders weren't corrupt. Because they just accept the ridiculous story that the Forum proposes. They were chosen by a god and told of a world-consuming rapture that would one day come. They had a great duty that only they could achieve to survive at all costs. But imagine if there were no Final Days or upcoming danger and the Forum fed an equally ridiculous story to their people. They're already very insular and isolated from the world, with a belief that the rest of the world is full of warmongers. I feel like the Forum could have pulled off some crazy stuff through propaganda and greed if they were so inclined. Then again, they're a very intellectual people so maybe I'm wrong. It was just an interesting thought that popped into my head.
The Final Days is tied with The Eclipse from Berserk as my favourite media depiction of an apocalypse. It's unapologetically horrible, nobody is safe, and it turns your worst fears into crawling brutal realities. To quote one comment about The Final Days, "I love the way this sucks." The song that plays when it's introduced in Thavnair, too? Music team absolutely cooked with that. Never has a song made me feel despair like that.
"Imagine a game had all the population leave except for a few people, and they had to scurry around in a post-apocalyptic setting." Ah, World of Warcraft after The Great Exodus
Honestly some of the things I learned in Endwalker kept me alive this last week during a mental breakdown I had. Just the idea that my WOL would not see me assist him into the future… it shook me that he didn’t succumb to the hell in game while my life was in parallel mentally. I can’t leave him alone, even if he isn’t real. He and I journeyed this story together, and it was meaningful 😌 not to say my FC mates didn’t try and call police to make sure I was alive (which I am thankfully) but I’m grateful I have been graced with another day despite the hell we live in.
Don't worry Pint, you think SMN is cringe now, but once you get lvl 90 summons and ogcds, you become enlightened about the whammy bammy unga bunga fun time that is SMN. 10/10 off main job for when you don't want to think
Lol, the Black Mage Zodiark thing happened to me too. Only played BM in PvP for months, then wanted to try him in PvE and I got that fight. Only reached very low values on my abacus ...
Highly recommend rewatch the Matsya’s cutscene in Japanese dub. His Japanese VA did a fantastic job to show Matsya’s panic and anxiety. I straight up sobbed watching it. Shivering.
3:39:00 yeah, it's a hard sentiment to express! Endwalker needs to go to great lengths to make it come across the right way, and even then some people might not get it. I wish I was better at it too.
I know Chichen L'aughel! (the roe with the PVP top you pointed out before the dungeon.) My friend is friends with them and she's a neighbor to our fc house :3
As a blm main its not very thought intensive once you get the rotation to muscle memory. The skill ceiling comes in knowing the fight, and how to pre plan movements/leylines so you dont have to move as much. being max level and having spell speed really helps too. Also don't forget umbral soul. really helps keeping eno chan up between pack pulls in dungeons Edit: Pint "Im totally good at blm I know how to play it" also pint, has maxed out the other casters before blm XD nah you need more time on it.
hey pint, i just wanted to ask something considering where you left last stream, try and duty support for upcoming content, atleast ones where it seem special, you'll know when you see them. as a side note, from my recollection the last trial is not currently level synced, minimum item level is something i would reccemand for it.
btw, your description of gender and your experience reminds me of a Comic Book author I love. Dan Shive (El Goonish Shive). He describes himself as "Gender Casual". You should look up the meaning, because it kind of fits what you said.
57:10 I don't think I've ever seen anyone choose Alphinaud as their first pick. I'm glad that chat at least convinced Pint to redo the scene and pick Estinien. His Batman-esque jumping off the balcony was unexpected yet hilarious. 1:32:47 Aww, I was hoping to see how Pint would have reacted to this. This also shows a VERY important clue to how the "affliction" works. Seeing those poor family transform one after another always breaks my heart everytime I have to redo this dungeon. 2:47:19 Probably one of my favorite and least favorite scenes in EW: the latter because of how SLOW to react the WoL is when Ahewann was about to be eaten, while the former when Graha, The Crystal Exarch finally makes his reappearance.
The scene with Ahewann hurt me so much because I was playing Dragoon. I had multiple jumps my character could have used, but they decided to slow jog instead. One of the only times I disconnected with my WoL.
@@absollum I Still have fond memories of the WoL just stand there while Gaius in Praetorium: - talks - turns into gold - gets defeated - turns around and walk away from you with his back exposed - closes the shutters - climb up the Ultima Weapon - talk again while in the shoulder of the Ultima Weapon - get inside and activate Ultima Weapon. The WoL definitely has a bad habit of lacking a sense of urgency when they need it XD
@@absollum unfortunately having a different variation for every cutacene is not very practical, a bard or machinist should be able to shoot the monster, a caster should be able to hit it with a spell, and several melee jobs have gap closers
The period of downtime with the Loporrits was needed as I look back in retrospect. The stuff that happened pre-Zodiark was kinda intense all on its own. But having no downtime between that and now when the game decides to show you what 'intense' really means would have been too much. Even so, I legit had to put down the game and stop playing after this part for a day or two. First time a game has ever gotten to me like this.
Fruity straight and full of gender is still friend shaped :3 i hope i never made you feel weird with any of my comments. You just seem like a good ally and i like trying to encourage people to explore. P.S. You are correct. The ERP hub is actually the Quicksand (Ul'Dah tavern) in Crystal:Balmung. Limsa is more like the chat/chill hangout. At least until some obnoxious tool on an alt character does a get block by all of limsa any% speedrun. Then it is pain. I just realized you probably knew that but im gonna leave it for people who don't.
necromancer title isn't an interesting thing to stream though. even ppl i found very interesting, the moment the focussed on that the stream got boring.
@@Schmuvi I have seen some that are a lot more subtle and ok. But most of the time yeah it's like the meme "graphic design is my passion" just for colour grading.
ok I HATE the scene with the blasphemies where ahewahn dies, it’s the dumbest shit cause they know we’re too strong for any of these guys so they just don’t let you do anything
lol, you're not going to both Fanfests. Your ability to purchase tickets is region locked. Don't be a garbage person and take up a slot from an NA fan that wants to attend a limited event by having a fan scalp them for you either. Go to the one in London.
