It is funny that people keep making the comment the post-patches are "meh". As if this isn't how the FF14 writing team normally operates. They are definitely not afraid to lay out some buildup and groundwork for the betterment of their long-term storytelling.
I think some are freaking out because Yoshi P has been consistent on his work then suddenly, the 6.3 wasn't like the other .3 patch we expected. I certainly was a bit surprised but I do remember Yoshi P said to temper our expectations because unlike other post patches, this storyline will have their finale on .5 patch.
@@hkoizumi3134 I mean SB .3 was "meh" compared to ShB and HW iirc. Ya, it wasn't as good as ShB or HW but I enjoyed it a good bit still. Not to mention your point about .5 being the climax this time in comparison.
i think it also just comes from the entire community being in the dark, and for many including myself this is the first expansion. Its more comfortable to get through 5.2 knowing there's the praised 5.3 and endwalker ahead of you, but when its current people get nervous, especially when its different from before. That said I have faith they'll stick the landing B^)
It's crazy how in-vogue shitting on the game is right now. The overwhelming opinion from the community right now is horribly negative, and it's way overblown.
The reflections have to be in seprate dimensions. If they weren't, we could just have the WoL go to the First with a beacon and have the scion take the Ragnarok there.
And to think that the patch arrives the day after tomorrow. Now that I am refreshed, I'm all set and ready to go! The patch trailer isn't super spoilery, they never are. The fact that they revealed the MSQ trial is hinting at something major going down because they almost NEVER reveal the MSQ trial before its release. Let's do this!!!
The amount of negativity im seeing on social media for 6.x is like baffling. Werent we told that 6.0 was the end? That post patches would have a diferent way? That patch 3 wouldnt be a big finale? Are people so unwilling to give the start of his new arc a chanse ? The way the 6.x patches feels like is more like the ARR post patches, but far more better done.
They said 6.4 would be the finale this time around though. And yeah it would be stupid for them to keep the stakes at the "10 years built up climax" level, there would be so much more in negative terms to say about the game (namely the failure of island sanctuary and criterion and overall (very) short lived content), but the story has never been part of it.
Congrats to the launch of your store Pint! I can't imagine how long it must have took to come up with the design and layout of the webpage. It looks really good. Agreed 100% on the Alisae take, the mood that the Y'shtola, Estinien, Varshahn and Zero team doesn't bring much levity in terms of their dynamic so seeing her and Alphinaud again ever for a brief time was definitely great to see. 6.4 is just the corner, but still congrats for being caught up for the MSQ. I myself am more curious as to how they'll end the Pandaemonium arc to see the end of Lahabrea's story and how we ended up getting ARR Lahabread (as well as have a glimpse of how crazy the upcoming Savage will be). Regarding the quality of the patch content, the storytelling format is definitely different compared to the HW, SB, and ShB that were used to. Yoshi-P did mention that 6.5 will be shake a lot of things up in order to prepare us for the next expansion, so I guess we'll see how the 6.4 story goes first. 3:26:40 It's important to remember that the 13th was the first Star that the Ascians tried the rejoining and failed, everything there has been forced to bring back to life again and again for who knows how long. Golbez seems to imply that he wants to give his people release by rejoining, which unfortunately means it will likely cause another calamity in the Source.
The Nier Raid story was weak for Nier fans but the _Drakengard_ guys were pissing their pants during it, apparently. I swear, if you look up their reaction to it, as soon as the bells start playing on the last boss people start screaming. As someone who's not a Drakengard guy yet, I like them! :D 1:20:25 I can't stress this enough: THAT'S NOT TRUE. THAT'S AN URBAN MYTH. Spicy food is just good! 2:29:16 We know that the Final Days reached The Source but didn't immediately affect The First, so yeah, it's safe to assume that all the other reflections are as innacessible to aliens as they are to us.
You definitely aren't alone in thinking the post 6.0 patch content has been lacking, Pint! I believe the devs when they say FF16 hasn't been a drain, because imo that is a valid and acceptable reason.. They're in the home stretch of FF16 and that's a huge deal for SE. Plus the XIV devs are usually quote honest with us, so I believe 16 hasn't gotten in the way (the xiv people that went to work on 16 left after Heavensward to start on that so we could blame that on Stormblood being "not as good" but I personally loved SB.. okay I'm digressing) However - While the story of this patch HAS been lacking, we for sure seem to have been getting a heckies of a lot more QoL content! And we know they are working on the graphics overhaul in 7.0.. I like to think that this patch cycle has largely been a preparation and maintenance for the game behind the scenes and they are going to blow of goddamn kupo nuts off with 7.0! Copium, yes. very much so yes. Another thing to consider is the change in schedule for XIV content. It has always been Expansion, x.1 and x.2 set up to x.3 big payoff for the expansion story and then x.4 and x.5 set up the next expansion. This is the first time the expansion was just THE END and the patches from .1 onward moved on into a whole new story arc. So, again a bit of copium here, but i am actually hopeful 6.4 will be a big ramp up and if not the finale, then a massive cliffhanger for 6.5.. Saving the usually x.3 climax for x.5.. Idk. we will see in about 24 hours time when 6.4 is out! Also, this patch content has felt VERY KINGDOM HEARTS! in the sense that in KH you go to the different worlds and do a, well, a bastardized retelling of that worlds story! We have basically done the KH FFXIV version of FF4! I am honestly not that against this continuing.. (honestly whatever it takes for us to get an honest and true ULTIMECIA fight in FFXIV! Eden raids got my hopes sky high...) Anyways, welcome to the 4 month between patch waiting room of torture! Well, you aren't quite there yet.. but after 6.4, welcome!
I would agree if this was like pre heavensward but the Scions got so much development into interesting characters exspecially in shadowbringers all the scions really shine in that expansion I don't see scions ever leaving maybe some might take a back seat for a expansion but who can feel the seat of characters we have known for a decade worth of content plus at this point
