TEDDY P!!! Definitely on the Mt. Rushmore of the PDC. My man got into a car accident and was paralyzed, and still did his thing from a wheelchair. Great reaction. RIP Teddy P.

Teddy and Marvin Gaye were my favourite singers during the 70's and 80's and I saw both of them in each decade. As the lead singer with Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes he was such a stand-out voice and the King of The Philly Label. " If you Don't know me by now " " Wake up everybody " etc,

Britt- you did hear Teddy. He was with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Someone told “I miss you “ was Harold lead singer but it was Teddy. He left Harold because of some jealousy. Harold was trying to hold him back because he was taking over. HE IS THE HEAD OF PDC. Close the door, Turn out the lights,

He actually started to write it with Teddy in mind of performing it. Teddy's and Lionel's schedule didn't allow for them to link up. Lionel was close friends with Kenny Rogers, so at a birthday dinner for Kenny's wife and hearing him toast his wife as his Lady, inspired Lionel to change the title, finish it in the bathroom of the restaurant and give it to Kenny.

He sang for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes group too. He became paralyzed from the waist down due to a car accident at the age of 31. He passed away in 2010 at 59 from respiratory failure, complications of his paralyzed condition. Very sexy like Marvin Gaye.

The song was written by Lionel Richie and recorded by Kenny Roger’s in !980. Teddy never recorded the song but did sing it during his 1982 tour. Years later Lionel and Kenny recorded a duet.

Teddy Pendergrass was with Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes before he went solo in the 70s and 80s. He was definitely in the PDC! Lionel Ritchie wrote Lady for Kenny Rogers and also recorded it as well.

Teddy was the king of the PDC club. In the late 70's and early 80's he performed concerts where only women were allowed in. To get his real vocal range check out Love TKO and his duet with Whitney Houston, Hold Me.

As an answer to your Question Britt Can you bring the grass has passed away 13 going 14 years now in 1982 he was involved in a car accident some say he was trying to talk to a girl out his car window and hit another car because he was distracted by her. I don’t believe this, however, one thing to be momentarily distracted but it’s another doing that would cause a car accident what even with that car accident paralyzing him he was able to continue his solo career Monday. He just stopped breathing having respiratory failure slightly. I want to wish you and your family the very best always, I love you for your videos and personality. Take care.
