I feel the pain with installing the transmission by yourself. Glad that you got it figured out. It must have been quite frustrating. Back in the 80s, I had a 1972 Vette and planned to spend a weekend installing headers starting on Friday night. We decided to install the driver's side header first because we expected it to be the most difficult due to the master cylinder and steering box. I was working from the top in the engine compartment and my friend Steve was underneath the car. We struggled for about 30 minutes and it just wasn't going to fit so we took a break. I let go of the header and Steve let go at the same time. The header fell then jiggled and wiggled its way into position on its own . We were both shocked. One of the few times things worked out right on its own.
@SchoolforHackers
@SchoolforHackers 2 месяца назад
That is so frikkin believable. I remember my Roadrunner where you could install either the starter or the header first; you had to do it at the same time. Tearing out my hair…

Sarah the way you dealt with the bell housing locating holes shows your attention to detail and desire to achieve perfection. Have to say I totally agree with your attitude. Ensuring the holes are the exact size is far better than beating it into place with brute force and ignorance. Forcing it into place also runs the risk of cracking it.
