In her case it looks like she is using semipermanent hair dye, and letting it fade out before changing her color. There is absolutely nothing damaging about that, since semipermanent hair dye is just conditioner with pigment. The developer that get mixed with bleach, and with permanent hair dye, is actually what damages your hair
Just do it. Think about yourself being old someday and regretting that you never done what you loved, like dying your hair. People will gossip and have opinions about you regardless. Boost yourself with confidence in stead of admiring others who do their own thing. If you don't, one day you will realise that you just envied others and never lived for yourself because you were afraid.
You can do it I also died my hair pink but I changed it back pink hair and black hair doesn’t look as nice on straight hair than curly hair hope it looks good on you curly or not

The "I'm sad let's change my hair" thing is actually the most relatable thing ever. And fun fact: your hair carries memories (sad ones too) so that's why most girls cut their hair or make a change to it when they are sad. You are subconciously getting rid of those bad memories or feelings.
