Hi Michael- Great shave and razor/brush review; thank you! I enjoy using the Lithe razor head, but it is definitely on the less aggressive side, for me, but does quite well with a Kai or Feather blade. It’s definitely unfortunate that Elvado is no longer in business; I have a single tub of their Mayan Vanilla and Almond that I use judiciously and only every so often in an attempt to forestall the inevitable. Well, I hope you have a great week ahead and best regards, as always!

Use it up, there is no sense in trying to make it last -- they are not coming back no matter how slowly you use the soap :-) I am glad people are enjoying this razor head, and I commend WCS for trying to bring different designs to market.

That's a mess when a man feels so Fancy holding his pinky out while using a safety razor.haha thanks again for the chuckle I appreciate it. Hope someday I can return the laugh bud.

SO FANCY! Sometimes I catch myself and have to laugh -- why is that pinky going up like I am drinking tea? Glad to provide a laugh here and there, the world needs to remember to keep smiling.

I can understand why you may not like how this razor head feels in the last pass, but in my personal experience with it, I get an incredibly close and comfortable shave throughout the whole shave. I did, however, have to put a more aggressive razor blade than I usually use with the best results being with a Gilette Platinum. I also messed around with multiple handles and ended up really enjoying using the lightweight Rockwell 6C handle. I am a daily shaver and have somewhat sensitive skin and usually can not go any higher than using the R3 head on my Rockwell without getting irritation on the ATG pass, but with this head I had multiple BBS, irritation free shaves doing 3 passes and a pickup pass. The angle of the head does help, but sometimes I need to adjust the angle to get a closer shave and I don't feel the shave getting less comfortable. However, YMMV like always with this hobby. Hopefully, this helps provide a different point of view than Michael's. Great video by the way Michael. Really love the look of that Yaqi Brush.

Thank you for adding your experience to the mix, the more opinions the better! I have no doubt this razor is working for you, and (as always) the best part is that you and I have *so many options* to find the right tool for our needs. The brush? It's a splash of fun!!

Have had my eye on the Lithe Head. Always thought that brush was cute.

Jill, I am not sure that this razor head will really do much for you - you are already an experienced DE shaver and I think you may be better served with some other DE options. That brush IS cute! If you would like it, contact me at michael.freedberg@outlook.com and I will send it along to you!

Hi Michael. Yeah, you and Jerry Seinfeld a couple of real "fancy boys" lol. Don`t know if you saw that episode? I don`t know, I think most new wet shavers find the angles before to long and to try and compensate with a razor that might turn out to be tricky even for an experienced wet shaver, maybe I`ll just spend my money elsewhere. Interesting idea though. Thank you.

"Yes, I carry a purse!" The guy shoveling the snow... I think most people naturally adapt the razor to their face, including finding the angle and the pressure, which may reduce the value of this head over time as you gain more experience. On the other hand, others here have reported that they are getting great shaves with the Lithe, so clearly it is doing the job for them!

Nice review Michael💈 "Training wheels" on the razor, that's what I told Kevy Shaves when he reviewed this head a couple months back😊 True though, some new wet shavers can't get the angle while learning and every little bit helps. For a seasoned wet shaver, probably not an acquisition🤔 Great video. Enjoy!

I think the angle will help initially, and for parts of the shave, but not for the entire shave, and if you have to deviate from that angle, the razor quickly loses the initial comfort. Yeah, not for me, but that's fine, I am sure there are plenty of people who are quite enjoying it!

I ordered one of those Fine Marvel razors about two months ago. It is a fantastic razor in my opinion!! I like to use my favorite blade, Astra superior platinum, in it! It has nice weight to it and a unique head. It is different from that Lithe head. Jim G.

Absolutely, even with the general similarity in the exposed, somewhat oversized face of the razor, this is NOT the Lithe. I am using the Marvel again this week, back to a lot of blade feel and "right on the skin" shaves!

Another good look at a new razor head! I found the Lithe nice, but a bit aggressive; I got a couple of nicks early on. "Defected" to my Rockwell 6C on the 3 plate for the next two passes. I think I may have been going a bit quickly. The Lithe will get some more tries, though, as I'd like to try some different lathers. I did use a new Rockwell blade, which I find to be a nice blade in general. Also, I was using Phoenix and Beau Iceni for the first time, my first use of a P&B product. That part was nice, in terms of both lather and aftershave.

This is why I shave with new products for a week, I think it's only fair to give them a full try. First impressions are often wrong, and I learn something new about the products I am reviewing every day that I shave with them.

I bought the Fine Marvel based on the head geometry. It looked designed to find the perfect angle. I gave it into a raffle because it was so aggressive for me, yet so many, including yourself, find it great to use. As you say, what works for one...

I can absolutely see where the blade feel on the skin is too much, it's really out there, but (for me) that is balanced by how well the edge is controlled -- I can feel the blade, but it never feels like it is going to catch or hitch or dig in. Yes, there are spots where I do pay more attention, but the end result is generally really good!

Castle Forbes runs for 31 euros in Greece. It is ridiculous if you consider that Siero from Wholly costs 25$. And don't tell me that CF comes in 200gr glass jar! Maca Root from BodyShop if you have tried it, it is much better. PS This knot from Yaqi is a lather hog, for God's sake! Eats all my soaps! So, Marvel razor next?? Fantastic.
@mfreedberg
@mfreedberg 4 года назад
It comes in a 200ml recyclable PET container. Castle Forbes will remain a top brand soap, even if there are a number of current artisan soaps that do offer better performance - but perhaps not the allure of this high end grooming brand. No, I am not shaving with the Maca Root, it smells terrible, I don't care how slick it might be.
