Join me for this amazing hike to two incredible San Juan Summits! I begin this hike from the 4wd Matterhorn Creek Trailhead and first hike to the summit of Wetterhorn. Wetterhorn is 14,015 feet and requires a 3.75 mile one way hike with 3,300 feet of elevation gain, and lots of class 3 near the top! After summiting this incredible 14er I make my way back down to 12,000 feet and take the ridge stock driveway trail to the base of 13,590 ft. Matterhorn Peak. From there I steeply climb up 1,500 feet of elevation across a grassy slope with no trail and a short but technical summit head wall to the summit! This hike was about 12 miles round trip with 4,800 feet of total elevation gain! Enjoy!
