WH40K Rogue Trader E17: Burning through the Void 

Every day, my heart longs for the notification that a new WH40K RT episode has dropped. I miss the commentary about 40k lore whenever it popped up.

If you hit the little orange button with lines and circles just above a character's inventory selection in the Inventory screen, you can hide their headgear (or capes, if desired). So you could give Argenta the Face of the Sovereign but set her specifically to have her headgear hidden so that she still looks normal.

I'm addict to this series ! There is something special about seeing comon sense and Warhammer mixed together

I hope Perun continues posting Rogue Trader videos. I'm dying to see his reaction to Act 3, and all the revelations and confessions in dialogues with the companions he takes with him.

You really need to optimise navy relations and some navy projects in the colonies - basically will give you an AI controlled escort for all space combat encounters

Just as a heads up - If you like a helmet/headpeice for stats but hate how it looks, you can disable helmets for individual characters. That way if something's getting in the way of Heinrix's impossible jawline or all three of Cassia's eyes, you can remove it to preserve their look.

And here I thought no one could be more OP than Cassia. Argenta: "Hold my recaf and watch this"

You can customize the looks of your chars with the round yellow 3 lines icon above your char in the inventory system, if i remember right you can change the color scheme on your main char and you can make gear invisivle.

Complete newcomer to warhammer here, saying "thank you, Perun!" for the entertaining series (and some insight into this particular universe)

I ended up buying WH40k RT because of your playthrough and have enjoyed it so far, although acts 3 to 5 get more and more buggy. For anybody who is about to enter act 3, the inventory is bugged so before starting it i recommend reading up on workarounds because otherwise you will not be able to progress since you will be unarmed. I must also say that I still like to watch your videos since i really enjoy your sense of humor and commentary.

Thanks to some slow days I managed to catch up with this playthrough more quickly than expected. Actually got me to buy the game as well, this seems to be hands down one of the best if not the best representation of the 40k setting and lore in game format.

Hello, my name is Siechamontillado, and I am an addict. I've been addicted to PerunGamingAu since the Dwarf Fortress series. I told myself it would be just one video, but one video became two, two became three, and before I know it, my weekend vanished, binging on the series. Then there was the Warhammer 3 Chaos Dwarf series, and then I wake up each morning to "Diggy, diggy hole" and started living in a mountain; trying not to dig too greedily, too deep. And then the Rogue Trader series came out. I tell myself each time, not today, I'm not going to do a video, but then I do. And then I tell myself just one, just one video, but then I binge. I always binge. And the wait between videos is crippling. I need to know what fresh heresy the Rogue Trader is facing today! When I sleep, I hear a nasal Australian voice narrating my dreams, explaining why it needs to progress like it does. Why, Perun, why is it logical that there is a tricycle-riding bear having a tea party and wearing a hat made of Funions?!!! Why Perun, why?! Also, this fat, hideous looking dude has also showed up in my dreams, he wants to give me a lot of gifts, and doesn't want me to change, and I think his name is Erkle or Gurgle, something like that. He wants me to join his forces, should I? In conclusion, I don't know what to do.

The butchers' adventure of Cassia and Argenta, ft. Perun continues...

While Jae is mostly a cheerleader and a skill ~~mon-keigh~~ monkey, she does specialise in dual-wielding aeldari/drukhari pistols. While having a sniper rifle is fine for the occasional long range instance of "I'm helping", I'd still give her her two pistols on the second weapon set. You'll appreciate the short range precision damage she can deal, when an occasional melee chaff unit wonders into your stack.

I can definitely recommend warp wave as a ship upgrade, really handy for screwing with enemy ships movement and facing and it does damage for free with no hit chance or range limit (at least as far as I saw).

Those servitors you fixed via experimental surgery can become your temporary followers and all-round bullet sponges with decent melee damage while you're on the planet. They are quite useful in that sense, though seeing as your enemies die before they ever get to act, I suppose you did a nice thing by keeping those servitors hanging out in the corner and out of harm's way.

Thanks for the episode! I really would prefer if you did longer videos with more of the material included that you now cut away though. Sometimes your dry comments are so funny even though the gameplay may not be super challenging.

for voidconflict, fire your torps early, so get more room to manouver if enemy ships close in on you... fire torps, then move

Loving the play through! The only problem is the further ahead I get in my own play through (late chapter 4) the more I come across that I can’t wait to hear Perun’s lore based thoughts and decisions on, and it’s going to be a while, haha!

Regarding the aesthetics of the skull helmet, you can just turn helmets off for a character by clicking on the small circular brown button with the abacus-looking icon below and right of Jae’s portrait.

Apparently, it was supposed to be possible for your RT to actually have a bigger ship than a frigate, but that was cut during development (and may be brought back in the void combat DLC)

For the sub optimal headpiece on Argenta, each character can have visual customization to hide their capes and helmets if you wish so you could give her skull mask without seeing it. You can also change base color of created characters clothes through this option.

That space battle dragging out to turn 29 shows just how awful the space battle stuff is balanced though. An event encounter should NOT take what i suspect must have been more than ½ an hour of slow kiting. And its directly idiotic that a bunch of corsairs are casually able to command more space mass than a rogue trader.

Abelard is an auto include because he gives you 5 extra turns at the start of combat with brace for impact

Ahhhh it's nice how Argenta has developed. For a time I feared Cassia would become the only real damage dealer.

Some chaos fools perform an "ambush" and before they do anything Argenta alone fires literally 40 heavy bolter rounds and uses her heavy flamer twice

Personally I just had Cassia swap between Devastating and Invigorating staves, since her holding a pistol or a sword felt out of character.

I doubted that the heavy bolter was going to be worth it, with it only doing 8 or something damage in the tooltip. But now? I admit that Argenta with Heavy Bolter = Stupid and Glorious

Is the playthrough dead for sure?

The one true issue in some RPGs, this item gives excellent stats, however, it makes my character look stupid. Aesthetics it is then.

i really like the series, I just think you are starting to cut to much, I really like the exploration part and scanning worlds. I would like to see it too...

I think you can afford to make a few sub optimal choices for the sake of aesthetics.

you can remove the helmet and backpack for your characters look if they are that hideous and still have them equipped.

maybe you can retrain a :synteric merc" to lore warp for one of the ship posts

Others have already told you, but there is a mission to unlock an NPC ally in space combat. I don't think it's controversial to tell you where it is: It's on Dargonus.

Please try WARNO on the channel. It's a cold war gone hot RTS with deep combined arms battles and a large roster of period correct units and tech. It would be a joy to watch you optimize and analyze it.
