I would rather make my own it’s all about ratio 1 part vinegar to 3 parts extra virgin olive oil, tsp dry oregano, pressed garlic, shallot, salt, pepper. Sometimes I add some crushed red pepper.
I want to thank you so very much for taking the time out of your life to do this. I really appreciate you. I’m determined to make my gut healthier without drugs. You are “Mr. Wonderful”!!!
I stopped ordering salads in restaurants because I realized most don’t make their own dressing and manufactured salad dressings are one of the worst things you can eat in my opinion.
My staple salad: organic romaine lettuce, sliced sweet or red onion, tomato, gorgonzola crumbles. Dressed with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar from my local oil and vinegar shop. I never get tired of this salad. I never buy "bottled" store dressings.
This sounds incredibly sad, have you thought about eating more diverse foods, you might even find it enjoyable, but I suppose when you live in a world of diet culture and fear mongering you can’t actually enjoy food like you should.
@cinssan3596 good basic one is olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, lemon juice splash of wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar add other spices or Parmesan. so good
@@cinssan3596 I use the old standard 3 parts healthy oil 1 part vinegar, salt, pepper, Dijon mustard. For extra flavour, experiment with balsamic vinegar and other flavoured vinegars, lemon, lime, orange and other citrus fruits juices instead of using vinegar.
I love your videos. It is only this massive consumer awareness that will force companies and industries to shape up, both toward our health and the planet. Rebel with your dollars, people.
Yes! Read labels is a must! Not the beloved Hidden Valley Ranch... it's true terrible ingredients just because it's a popular brand doesn't mean it's good for you! Thanks Bobby!
Bobby, i was at Whole Foods today looking for many products: salad dressings, frozen foods (by Amy's, etc) ALL had BAD oils! went on to their packaged deli items...SOOO MANY PRESERVATIVES, BAD OILS, etc!!! Left feeling all I can do is whole food produce (MOST from MEXICO)!! HOW IN THE WORLD can we turn these trends of additives around ?? Most Other countries have banned these oils & additives in their products😳!!! Bobby, you're doing a fantastic job of alerting us but it is BEYOND COMPREHENSION that the FDA in USA still allows these inflammatory ingredients!! Thanks Bobby for listening to my "rant"!!! 🙏🏻. You're doing fantastic job of educating ingredients/products to avoid!!
Whole foods is a scam for pretentious people who feel good about spending too much money. Now they are transparent about their bioengineered ingredients.
I don't feel afraid or fear mongered from what he said after this video, if anything I feel more joy that we are finally seeing the effects of these fairly new food production practices and people are spreading awareness. High Fructose Corn Syrup, Canola Oil, Glyphosate; all fairly new additive practices we have started to put in our food and now we are starting to see the long term effects it has, the same that happened with cigarettes, cocaine, alcohol; and vaping. All of these have one thing in common and that is that they are addicting. Food companies spend a great chunk of change ensuring that their products will sell by investing in research about how certain chemicals react with our brain to get us addicted to these junk foods so we can continue to buy more. From a business perspective it makes perfect sense, you need demand for your product.
Ok, please help with a recipe for a dressing. I am not an experimenter. Also, what stores have the Products you advocate? I just made a banana bread with organic sugar, coconut oil and organic eggs, brown. I found large eggs where medium. No change in taste. Now I just need to find a flour that that is Gluten Free and tastes good. Tossed out shortening, vegetable oil, white sugar, eggs. Will I be able to make brown sugar by adding molasses to the organic sugar and what would be the ratio? Is confectionery sugar on your bad list? Thanks.
It just takes more effort if you want to eat cleaner, it's not going to be bad if you have something with a processed chemical here and there, but it should motivate you to make or find better foods to eat
Love your channel man. Having someone give you useful, correct information about what food is healthy and what isn't, without any bias or conflict of interest is rare these days, so thank you.
You can tell people where I live in the south all day everyday about how unhealthy "Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing" is any you will absolutely be wasting your breath! 😂 a lot of people are going to suffer because they just refuse to eat healthy foods and they KNOW that the food they're eating is bad for them!! I just do me and" leave each to his own". Keep spreading the truth Bobby!❤
Salt or salted anchovies, pepper, vigin olive oil, balsamic and or lemon juice, Apple or wine vinegar, dry thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, dry chilly powder, ground parmejan and or feta cheese, Any combination of these will give a delicious dressing for any dish or salad. You can even make it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for weeks
Impossible, because they’ll always cater to the less fortunate. The good alternatives are almost always more expensive because they’re made with real ingredients
theyre not forcing you to buy their products so you cant force them to change their ingredients. what you can do is demand they be more clear about their ingredients and the effects. you know those pictures and warnings on cigarette packs? we need those for these foods
I haven't had any salad dressings from the store that impressed me. I used to love Thousand Island dressing and moved on up to Ranch. I stopped eating salads because I can't buy a good dressing. The best I've been able to do in the past was to make my own buttermilk ranch. That requires a lot of mayo. I haven't been able to find any "Chosen" salad dressing or I WOULD buy it. Now, I only buy "Chosen" Avocado cooking spray and oil for frying. I buy that cheap cooking oil ONLY for emergency USE.
he's literally trying to scare us into being crazy obsessed about every food label. the key is everything in moderation. a little bit of normal salad dressing is fine as long as your not using a bunch at a time you'll be fine.
Even Cardinis Original Caesar Dressing which is supposed to be the original recipe uses Soybean Oil... when Olive Oil is one of the musts for Caesar dressing.... they only add a splash of that at the bottom of the listed ingredients... travesty! Anyway... you are right... make your own whenever possible!
I haven’t bought any salad dressing for 20 or more years because I refuse to eat omega 6 oils ,etc and if you happen to get ok ingredients it tastes so awful !I prefer to make creamy nut dressing with olive oil or avocado oil!!!
Can someone tell me why MSG is considered bad according to this video? I'm Asian and my mom uses it a ton while cooking. I know that during the whole "Chinese Restaurant Syndrome" thing people were painting MSG as something terrible and something that gives you headaches but the FDA did studies and found that MSG doesn't cause anything bad. I'm wondering if that's why he's saying it's bad.
Bobby, you've taught me so much. When I shop, I now look at labels because of you ! I never knew how bad soybean oils, etc was until I watched your channel. Love ya, man ! 😊
I find avoiding seed oils requires so much discipline as its quite literally in everything. It's also going to be hard for me to avoid when eating out at restaurants as I do like to go out with family once a week and get a burger. Will have to ask for substitutes.
Is the Trader Joe’s “Ceaser” Bobby Approved? I went yesterday and saw the “Green Goddess” you mentioned…but I can’t seem to find what you say about the Ceaser flavor?
For this reason I always tell people to make their own using oils like extra virgin olive oil/ avocado oil Simply vinegar/oil based dressing like Italian are made with those two ingredients plus seasoning/sugar and salt Make your own ranch to using eggs and those two same oils to make the mayo and then some buttermilk and seasoning like dill parsley garlic black pepper But to each their own
That’s fine. But, a good olive oil and some lemon, salt, and pepper is the best. Also good add garlic etc. but if you are watching this, you already know.
I stopped buying salad dressing when I was a teen, many moons ago. You know what you're eating when you make things from scratch and it's pennies on the dollar.
I’ve noticed that, he’ll say something from the store is bad but then suggests buying one of his “Bobby Approved” items from his company which is normally way way more expensive than the item he is bashing on. I’ve started watching a content creator named Liam and he is also a health foodie but he doesn’t bash stuff that people can afford these days. He says make sure it’s in moderation.
I mean if a drug dealer donates to charity is he still a good person? He's donating to charity with blood money I guess that's ok. Literally contributing to countless health problems lol. I get it no one makes u buy things sure but all of Bobby's stuff is free no one is making you buy it are they?
Forget store bought. Dressing I make my own dressing all the time.. Is by the way I So you're olive oil video. I went And checked the 2 bottles of Olive oil.
Thank you for pointing that Bobby. Is there a way you can find out how much difference is the cost for Olive oil vs Sunflower or Soybean or Canola oils please?
After a recent health scare, I started to really pay attention to what I’m eating. I came across salad dressing a week ago and I couldn’t believe all of the oils I read on the back of each bottle. I was so disgusted I left the aisle empty handed.
I never buy dressing and this is why. I think balsamic is way too sweet and kills the taste of the salad, so I make olive oil with either fresh lime or lemon, and salt and pepper. Everyone loves it!
You didn’t offer any alternative preservatives we should be looking for, for long shelf life. Are people dying over a serving or two occasionally from potassium sorbate?
i keep seeing bragg's everywhere, mostly started with apple cider vinegar. i rarely use any dressings because its mostly fat and full of chemical ingredients, i might try bragg's sometime though
Hi Bobby, How tall are you? The Average woman is 5'5"-5'6".. I'm not one but they are. A quick start is that the high sellers and more profitable are in the middle at eye level for those that choose not to shop online. The bottom and top shelves are the slower moving items. If you notice the brands you called out.. They're on the Top Shlef higher harder to reach and out of reach. Go ahead.. Just eat unhealthy. The Grocery stores have investments in big Pharma where you're headed next due to poor choices but also not really your choice. You're short so you couldn't see or reach it. Next time your shopping pay attention to the higher shelves. You're likely going to be suprised. The stuff Bobby mentions is higher out of reach for the average mom shopper. You probably don't want to but shopping online/pick up at store might be better your better option. Ugh. Can't reach.😢
That’s why I make my own ranch dressing and mayonnaise. It’s easy to make and taste so much better than the store bought version with the nasty preservatives in it.
