The apartment looks beautiful. I also like the herringbone pattern. It looks good in bathroom tiles, as a kitchen back splash on the counter and also in a wood floor design. The lighting in the kitchen is a really good touch. And the views of the ocean and the mountains are beautiful. It was good to see the finished and remodeled space. I hope you are doing well. Lovely apartment! The kitchen is my favourite. Sad that you did all that work and had to sell it. I did not know that you and your partner had split up. I hope that doesn't mean you are leaving Iceland, you obviously love it there. My husband and I were in Iceland in May 2022 and fell in love with it too, and are planning a return trip, we live in central Canada. We had an amazing trip thanks to many of your videos!

I agree, the herringbone shower is clean and sophisticated and at the same time it's a nice touch, being that fish are big portion of the island culture and economy. It's difficult to identify a favorite part of the property, but I'll go with the floorplan that places the kitchen central in the family/friends dynamic, right where it belongs.

I'm biased to the herringbone pattern of the tiles in the main bathroom because we did our shower in the same pattern. The house is absolutely beautiful, it would have been difficult for me to let go. You asked if we were interested in other videos. Yes.. Affordable "for Iceland" short term and unusual rentals. Some place to relax and work, with a walkable area and vegan friendly food shops. I think when visiting Iceland, finding affordable and cute places is a major issue.
I'm really anxious to remodel my house (built in late 50's). Haven't got much past buying some interior design magazines. My idea is to have a combination of contemporary, but also retro, so it might seem weird. Everything I want to do is pricey!
Remodeling is a big stress so I understand being anxious about it. I think it’s good to let the ideas swirl around in your head for a bit before jumping in. I used Pinterest to help me collect ideas to reference later. 😊

Why not install an sauna while your doing the renovation, think of how it would be inthe winter with a hot warm sauns bath when it get´s really windy and cold.
Most people go to the swimming pools here and they have saunas. It just doesn’t feel like the most logical investment when we have easy access to them daily.

thanks so much for sharing those details! & didn't, at first, realize this was the same home you 2 bought together..and hope you got a fair market sale amount for it.🤞 and is it common there? to have onl 1.5 baths for 3 bedrooms + is it common to not have bathtubs in homes there [apartments or houses]? just thinking about Iceland & hot springs + I believe I imagined there's a way to tap into them for homes?..but maybe they, the local hot springs, don't generate enough natural hot water to serve all in the areas where they exist? but if so, I hope the water itself, at least, would be free to make use of? either way, regarding real estate, I can also see how it would be a bit heartbreaking to sell..but then memories, right? so, I do get it, I think. as one state & city has a lot of memories for me about a marriage that turned out to not be for life..and as living someone does not guarantee it works out.😕🧚🏾♀ and so it was an investment which, perhaps, was helpful for you or both of you to, in order to begin next chapters of your life/lives. and hey, not the most important thing, of course & maybe I somehow, missed it? but if not then: that "pop of blue" in the guest bathroom? please consider showing it in another video? as I was just curious how it was applied to that particular space. & god bless!📿 🙌& as well, the remainder of your life's journey! as I imagine it will have unexpected, beautiful points.. & thank you also for sharing your most special & sometimes, quite vulnerable experiences in your time in Iceland because we're learning a lot from you!👍👍
Thank you! Funny enough, it is common in Iceland to have only 1 bathroom for 3+ bedrooms. We put in a half bath because that is what we had space for. After doing the remodel, I wondered to myself why I didn’t put in a bathtub. 😂 In the end, it was an investment and thankfully it was a positive return for us both. Thank you for you message.

There are many apartments in the whole building but we were in a section that only shared an entrance with one other apartment. It is about 10 minutes driving to downtown and about a 30 minute walk.
Thank you! There are many building supplies stores in Iceland. They are constantly getting shipments from abroad. Sometimes, the materials have to be special ordered. For instance, our counter tops took 6 weeks to arrive from when we ordered them.
what's getting a loan like there (how is creditworthiness determined and what are the terms)? and what's a downpayment like? and how much is typical to budget for upkeep there? how about other fees like (HOA, insurance, taxes)? thanks!
I think there are a couple of ways you can qualify for a loan. Our creditworthiness was based on salaries, our cost of living, and our down payment. It helped that we were selling another property and buying a new one. Every building decides on their own fees, and taxes are based on where you live. I have to look at all the numbers to give you this info.
I really don't mean this in a rude way but you talk too much. Just do one full run through with a short voice over ,then in the end/beginning you can simply give more info on it.The cutting and talking roo much ruined the tour.

Talking severally in between random moments completely loses the flow of the tour and the flow of the entire video. It is quite literally constructive critism not preference to other creators.
