@lildrunken
@lildrunken 2 месяца назад
I've been living in Tokyo for 14 years and in four different neighborhoods. Spectacular could mean different things to different people but this view is by all means is VERY NICE by Tokyo standards considering how urban this place is - a house 2 minute from the station in central Tokyo and of that size to have that view? Unheard of. Good luck ever finding one - condos (mansions as we call them here) are easier to find in the vicinity of a train station, but houses, never in the central Tokyo area. I'd be very surprised if the commenter lived in Tokyo (or ever looked for houses for purchase here), because anyone from here who's looked for properties to buy would be impressed by that view (again, considering the location, the size, and the place being a house, not a condo).
@Mackcolak-xf5bk
@Mackcolak-xf5bk 2 месяца назад
@@lildrunken Yup, for Tokyo it's probably a good view as you explained. But from an absolute measure, looking at the unending horizon of wires and roofs is very dull and depressing. I'm Australian and soem things seem sort of common, like hanging your clothes out to dry, but some of the options the Japanese have for it, are quite unique. I also find it interesting how the bathroom is essentially one big shower, in a sense. As opposed to Australia, where your showing would be enclosed in a curtain or glass door, and then your bath seperate. The reheating feature was interesting. It also seems interesting that the house is just in a business district. The zoning is not the same here and most people in Australia have a front and back yard with grass and patios etc, although that I becoming less common as greed influences people to sub-divide blocks and so house and land sizes are becoming smaller. Anyway, bery interesting to see what a somewhat upper middle class Japanese house is like

Some have commented that it would be useful for older people; for instance, less climbing of the stairs. Well, not really. They still have to go upstairs to use the kitchen, wash the clothes, etc. The stairs will be used a lot no matter what. The rooftop view was pretty laughable. You're just feet from a transformer. Imagine being on the rooftop and that thing blew. It would bring new meaning to "Bar-B-Que". Another deal killer.

The interior space is quite nice, although I'm not so sure about the location. Sure, being close to a major transit point is definitely a benefit in you're living in Tokyo, but in terms of aesthetics, the neighborhood leaves much to be desired to put it kindly. That spiderweb of electric cabling and distribution transformer atop the utility pole being so close to my roof-deck would be a deal breaker. If I was in the market for a home in this price range, I would be looking at a neighborhood that presents as a little more upscale with more greenery and boutique shops in the nearby vicinity. The floors come with the territory if you want the living space. The house goes right out to the perimeter of the plot of land. Only way to get more floor space is to go up. Especially with that garage and carport. It's not a big plot of land. There was a smaller house there before. It was set back a bit. There was some greenery in front of the house and a tiny yard on the right (the house is on a corner), so they had the width of the road as empty space to the property across the street.

How can you earn 1 750 000 US dollars in Tokyo?

Take out a loan with a bank.

@@hvmanara Doing that you won't own the house yourself ever. The bank will own the house until you die and if you fail to pay monthly your debt they take the house from you.
@hvmanara
@hvmanara 3 месяца назад
@@wekkimeif7720 Yes and no. While the bank can seize your property and foreclose on the loan if you fail to keep up with your payments, the home is still an asset that can be used in multiple ways to offset the cost of the mortgage while simultaneously allowing you to earn real income from the property. For example, rooms in the property, or even the entire property, can be rented out on the open market. Another way is to use your home as collateral in order to take out lines of credit for personal expenses and capital expenditures. Renters cannot do anything close to that because they do not own the property and lack the rights and privileges afforded to those who hold the deed. Also, bear in mind that in order to even get a mortgage loan from a bank you have to demonstrate credit worthiness and show your ability to pay off the loan. They're not going to just hand out a loan to any broke boy joe schmo off the street who wants one like they were doing in America before 2008 financial crisis. Furthermore, most working professionals who earn close to six-figure salaries and higher, and have good job security, can easily afford the payments on those loans.

What I don't like is the master bedroom being on the bottom floor. That should be a guest area. I want my room on the same floor with the kids that way if something happens I don't have several floors to go to get to them. The lower room would be also great for if you have the grand parents and so on come over because they wouldn't need to go up and down stairs as often. Simply because of the floor plan and having raised a family I wouldn't by that home.

I would not say that living and dining room is rare in Japan - as wel las en suite. You talk of a luxury item here, 1.75 million USD - THAT is rare. One thing I do not like is the master bedroom at the ground floor - I would dump it with en suite to the top (killing the 2 bedrooms instead) so that the master bedroom in the ground floor can be used... as a home work place which is accessible for potential business visitors. Separate private and office space.

Go on Suumo and see how many places have a separate living and dining/ensuite bathroom. Also, $2m+ houses in Tokyo are actually quite common, especially in the nicer areas.
