I do love when Colin says he needs to pray for Pen because I know he won't harm her, but at the same time I'm glad you share my distaste for how physically rough he is with Pen in the book. Though unmentioned, I also love when Pen says "when did I give you leave to interpret my sighs?" Despite him being older and more popular, and her being a wallflower and havinv been deeply in love with him for over a decade, she is strong enough to stand up for herself.

Awe, I love the idea about a moment of redemtion where Pen over hears him defending her. There HAS to be a more to the comment about not wanting to court her. It can't be what it is. It absolutely has to be out of context!

You will not neee to mourn YBWM 😂😂😂 What I like about Snow on the Beach is the sound of the music - it's celestial, a song meant to entice the true wonder of a love so amazing.... it's strange. It's barely conceivable. I think it's a great choice from Colin's perspective. It's his highest point of insight he could possibly reach before he crashes his and Pen's world forever!!!! ❤❤❤

I have to say I think showing Colin have a full sex scene with other women during his love story with someone else is a cardinal rule Shondaland can't break. It doesn't matter if character reasons can be rationalized for it. It has to be like Anthony in 2x01, just leaving the bed and then watching them or something. A complete sex scene with someone who's not Pen would automatically destroy the romance. I totally agree with you all that Colin needs to be sure of his feelings much earlier in the show. You all are a hoot in general and can't wait for your next ep!

Firstly, had a laughing fit at "Please sir, may I have some more?" Pen, supposedly in the carriage. BAAHAHAHA! And the 4 of you doing your, uh, did you say 4 ducks singing? Sexiness of the carriage ride effectively destroyed. 🤣🤡🤡🤡🤡 I am completely yo-yo-ing with you all at these few chapters. Bouncing for joy at the sweet romantic moments and spicy scenes and then cringing/pissed at Colin's grabbiness/temper. The first read-thru I was like, Dude, chill out. Bruising her? Not cool. But, like you guys, I have high hopes for show-Colin. You know what I want is a callback/flip for Colin to tell Pen: "You're astonishing, Penelope." As in proud of her as Lady Whistledown. It's a way to say, I love you & I admire you.

I really really don’t want that Sun article to be right. I just heard of it today so maybe I haven’t processed yet like you guys have lol so maybe I just need time but I just feel like it doesn’t fit Colin’s character and I wanted this season to be more sweet and innocent rom com style. My expectations are low for the whole season now, crazy how one storyline could make me change my entire excitement for the season! But of course I’ll still watch it, fingers crossed it doesn’t happen!

I want the "kitten has claws" scene to be the 308 pall mall epilogue scene in front of all the bridgerton siblings.

I picture Colin sending the hired hack away before he follows her inside-still, not even knowing what is going on lol I would LOVE to see a good reaction from the queen and develop a close relationship with the discovery of LW

About dark sex plot line 2024 edition. Nothing confirmed, but my flame of hope that it won't happened is just as small as Colin's in the trailer (before it grows). Let's just say it happenes like we heard. I think the problem is, it could be done in a better way. Like why in Ep 2, why Colin goes to the lesson after, why the brothel and not a party whit Ben, why with two women... But at this point, as long as there's any reason behind it, I will take it. I just feel like we in the fandom are living through the star wars meme. You were the chosen one Colin! 😢 Sorry if it's a bit dramatic, I guess that's book Colin impact. 😂

Luke did say Colin reacts the worst, does that mean angry or absolutely distraught and pure drama???? Genuinely a bit worried about that tbh especially when we've seen how Eloise reacted and tbh I would have thought that THAT was the worst reaction

This was sooo good!! 🫶 So many thoughts 🫣 - I agree that in the show he has to realize his feelings way before he does in the books. - I like the theory that he will propose and she will say no because she thinks he's doing it only out of "honor," although it reminds me of Kanthony's proposal in the show after their first time, and she shuts him down too for similar reasons. - I kind of want a magical engagement ball with no LW drama and that they sneak out because they can't help it not being with each other (in a similar fashion they sneak out of Eloise's wedding). I never liked how two big intimate moments in the book culminated from Colin being angry at her. On that note, I'm also hoping to see a flirty light hearted sofa scene. - My must have line from the book in addition to yours is also at the engagement ball, following the iconic line you mentioned from Lady Danbury. This is her now going to Colin saying "“Mr. Bridgerton,” she said in curt greeting. “Just came over to congratulate your bride.” - “Ah, but I am surely the one who deserves the congratulations.” “Hmmmph. Truer words, and all that,” Lady D said. “I think you might be right. She’s more of a prize than anyone realizes.” - “I realize,” he said, his voice so low and deadly serious that Penelope thought she might faint from the thrill of it." Also, the last phrase is the perfect prelude to suggest an escapade from the crowd 😊

There is a theory I read on the sub Reddit Where they think, Marianna dies. And the shock of that makes Pen withdraw from Colin completely. She feels very guilty, and we know emotional Pen doesn't make the best decision.

I was just listening to one of your older podcasts and realized the question I needed answered was going to be addressed in one of your newer videos, so here I am, and I am not disappointed! I was wondering what the Felicity scene would look like or if it would even happen. I love this part of the book because it has some excellent quotes. I am very sad that we don't have a Felicity in the series because she is so cheeky! I love how she is the only one that sees how amazing Penelope truly is. Felicity knows that Pen is beautiful and intelligent, and Felicity is the only one that can see how in love Pen is with Colin! I need this scene in my life!

In the books, Violet always recognized Colin and Penelopes friendship and she adored Penelope . She wanted Penelope in her home for tea freq. She watched out for Penelope and told Colin to dance with her at Balls. That's why he said I do not want to marry Penelope on the steps to his brothers. He was complaining about his mom pushing him toward marriage.

The mispronouciation of "prayer" made me automatically say "marriage" (The Princess Bride 😂)

There is no problem with criticizing something we like. We don't have to love everything about it blindly. And I really do hope those rumors are really just that because there are so many other ways they can show Colin's character arc. But thank you for telling us about it. Now we can mentally prepare in case it is true. It will be... Interesting to watch Violet give subtle hints and keep her distance from her son's situation. Maybe she'll be too busy between Francesca, Lady D and her own romantic plot line? But it's not like Violet to be either subtle or disengaged. 🤔 I'm curious to know how much she knows and how long she has known. Yes, Penelope needs to stand for herself. And yes, I would love for them to establish that she would be fine without Colin. "Because I care about you" would be tenth times better than "oh you're so angry and suddenly I see you're actually attractive" BS... I kind of love how chaotic and unromantic Colin's proposal is in the book 😂 I do believe Penelope will refuse because she doesn't believe he loves her yet. So he has yo make her believe and maybe there will be a better, more romantic declaration/proposal some time later. Love all the playful banter between them and hoping for a "the kitten has claws scene". And of course a version of "my mess". I need a scene where Colin à ounces that HE is the one who won the lottery with their mariage. The jealous plotlinein very likely is going to be with Eloise so hopefully Colin won't be petty like in the books. I'd rather have their story be about them learning how yo be a team and be their own individual persons would be much better and truer to their characters in the show.

Re: possibility of pen turning down Colin's proposal. I see why you don't want an engagement until Pen believes he loves her, but I don't want her to say no because they already did that in season 2. Kate turned down Anthony because she thought he only proposed out of propriety for their tryst. or if they do go that route I would want her to say her reason to him out loud so that he can immediately correct it. I would prefer that the love proposal comes in the carriage scene as he proposes. I think you could have him state it matter of factly, but then realizes her needs to be more romantic and like actually switches and proposes well. As for where the cliffhanger leaves off, I do think they might just cut off when he discovers her identity but we don't see the aftermath until episode 5.

What a quandry. Maybe Portia will create a fake inheritence and Penelope tries to slip the LW funds in. What if Portia knows and doesnt say anything!!!! (For the first time ever!) That would be fun. Lol

I have to argue that Simon does have a dalliance with another woman in episode 2, (I think). He is getting out of bed, there's a woman there, she says "where are you going so early my lord?" And he says "To promenade" all grouchy. I'm pretty sure it's in episode 2 because it's after his deal with Daphne. I could be wrong, but I dont think so. 😊

I'm a bit confused on when people think that the queen is going to possibly put a bounty out for lady whistledown. i saw most speculate that it would be at the queen's ball in ep 4, and that pen would run to publish an issue on it, and that's when colin would spot her and find her out. I could see that, but the contents of the issue would be different, since colin catches her after cressida tries to take credit for it (in the book). it would change some of their carriage talk if cressida hadn't already said she was lady whistledown, as it's a big part of their discussion. I guess cressida could claim to be whistledown immediately after the announcement i guess. i think it's more likely though that maybe we get a reward announcement in either an earlier episode, or earlier on in episode 4 pre-ball. or they hold off the cressida thing to ep 5 or 6, and it's just not mentioned in the carriage scene.

I got in trouble on Reddit but, is the sex plot line really so bad? Am I the only one in the fandom who thinks it makes sense?
