WHAT A WAY TO SPEND A SUNDAY (1971) 

Brilliant film. This was my third cave, went on to do loads more with YSS and even got a job at Gildersleets teaching climbing and canoeing for 3 years. Dropped in to Helwith Bridge a year or so ago. Beer tasted the same but it has all changed. Great days!

Amazing filming by Sid Perou.... here in 2019 it is a real step back in time to see the equipment , lighting and clothing This is real dedication and makes a non caver like myself SHIVER for many reasons..not just the thought of the intense cold. These films are so fun to watch, thanks for uploading them.

The Simpsons pull-through has always been one of my favourite trips. Great fun! Also interesting to see how things have moved on in the last 45 years. The bulky old hemp rope they're using, tying the life-line around them rather than using a belay belt and D-ring. Nor do I miss the old miners lamps with their bulky battery packs compared to todays LED lamps. And the trips more fun doing a pull-through abseil than laddering it. As ever a great program Sid.

I came across the channel a couple of years back after spending 6 hours under the Peak District in abandoned mines, I’ve started watching through the videos again and absolute in awe, must of been a real chore to get the shots back then which in a way makes it more watchable than some HD action cam footage. I wonder which lucky person had to derig? Was that left for another day and a reversed trip? They don't appear to be carrying as much gear out. I guess it's now an SRT pull through. Great looking trip.

That must have taken months of filming.

I wonder if you will be uploading Beneath The Pennines - Pippikin Hole soon. I remember seeing that one on BBC TV back in the 1970's. I was looking forward to the following week's programme but that got blacked out due to a strike.

One earthquake and it could change that cave to the worst. Is this cave still in operation? Awesome show.
