SPOT ON. I am definitely at my worst -more anxious, more down in the dumps, more reactive and moody, and generally p.o’d- when I feel insecure about my marriage. I have gotten so much out of your talks, Jimmy (and Karen!!). You have been like mentors, walking alongside me as I work to -what feels like single-handedly- repair my crumbling marriage. Please do an entire sermon SERIES for spouses married to narcissists. The narcissist is selfish and not concerned w meeting their spouses needs. Biblical practical applications I can use in diff areas of my marriage to a narc would be greatly appreciated!
Not only do we feel insecure but I believe it’s because we want better for our men. I believe men mistake nagging for us punching you to be better. Granted we could say things differently but it doesn’t come from a mean place. It’s genuine concern.

Yes and even how one speaks to their spouse helps or hinders the relationship especially when used to passive aggressively hurt them by referring to their insecurities. If your person asks you to stop saying hurtful things or terms then they should respect you and listen.
This was helpful to me. Women's needs are so dramatically different then men's needs that it's so easy to misunderstand each other. I know I have been slow to really understand what my wife really needs and those needs color her speech. I think I am beginning to understand how to interpret her words in a new light and hopefully it can help me not feel she is trampling on my honor, which I don't believe she is trying to do.
I wouldn't place everyone in a strict role as very one ahs different personalities but the way they communicate and understand what the others feeling is amazing, this is how people should communicate!
Thanks to Google maps men and women no longer need the "stop or don't stop for directions argument" those arguments would get annoying and fast back in the day 🙄
I agree. they are onto a formula that works. all these ugly comments from men i'm reading on this thread, it's sad. women and men are different, with different needs. it's not about sucking up to women, it's about compassion. good luck making any relationship work without it.

The understanding is.... stop telling women we are weak because we feel. We have sexual need and desire and drives just as men do. Some women do think strategically not just with our emotions. When society keep zeroing in on the fact that we are EMOTIONAL, it comes off like we're air headed. My mom and dad taught me to be a stong minded and loving person. My dad always said be my own leaded not follow the crowd. I have passion and emotion but i also think realistically. I have drive like my husband, maybe more when it comes to intimacy. Churches always paint the woman as we onlybwant love and caring. But that's not true for all. Some of us also want the respect and physical side of intimacy too.

I want to reply as kindly as I can so as not to be misunderstood--- If one has been in "church thier entire life" and not heard any teaching on responsibilities/obligations of wives toward husbands - [as well as husbands toward wives] - then either the minister of the church failed to teach it, or the person was absent when it was taught. The concept of partner obligations are bound together in the same passage of the Bible --- Ephesians Chp 5. Especially Verse 21.
I'm sorry...... I don't know how the subject turned to adultery from what I thought was a GENERAL remark about "husband & wife obligations". I thought the original comments on the video was about the security for women. It sounds as if you have had a bad personal experience, and I am sorry that has happened. I wish you a happier tomorrow..
If you want to understand women you need to watch the TV series " Two and a Half man" . It is the most sincere serie about relationships. I've seen the same thing happening in church. The good Christian guys don't have any chance with the women and the jerks have all the attention. I was for 6 years in a Christian single's group and it was like watching Charlie Harper from Two and a Half Man in my church. I wish I could say that Christian women were different but they are not with very, very few exceptions.
This happens to women, too. I would work on healing and connecting to God. Cast your cares on Him and ask for His guidance in all areas of your life every day.
Embracingreality: women already know most of her duties to her husband. Women constantly give and all you men do is take. We carry your children , we cook your dinner , we have sex with you when we are not in the mood, we wash your cloth, and we work to provide . What else could you possibly want ? Ian's we keep up with our appearance . We listen to your bad day and some of us do certain sexual things just to please you.
