In this video I explain a lot of things that I am going to change and upgrade on my Explorer. I plan to build up a second set of Super Duty axles with different gears, change the front to a 4 link, go full hydro steering, add a doubler, design a roll cage and then build it.

Your explorer already works great off road, soon it will be even better. Also glad you will be doing your own gear setups.

those shave kits look killer, would probably be fun to cut up a housing. I am also redoing my SAS in my b2 right now i had to do a cut and turn on my C's for more caster figured itd be easier to start with a different axle instead of cutting off all my old brackets and truss.

As soon as I heard it I knew it was the diff was hosed. Sorry that happened. That’s an expensive oops! I just cut down a 37” tire and had to order one in. Shipping alone would buy a nice tire (to Alaska). If we use them right they will eventually take some damage. By the way. Of all the things I DIY, I don’t build diffs.

Fingers crossed, at least the locker is covered under warranty. But I'm definitely 100% out on the ring and pinion and bearings/seals... so starting at this point, I'm learning more stuff, setting up gears.

@@BuildItWheelItExploreIt I’m glad you will learn to DIY the gears. I’ve always looked at that as voodoo mechanics to paint the grease on and then read the pattern for a good fit. I tried a few and messed them up and then realized my mental limit. You have some major upgrades in the future. The good and bad of this hobby is the never ending pursuit for the next weakest link.
