What are INTJs like?...Awesome, that's what! This video is very accurate; INTJs never act shocked or disapproving when I'm sharing my many, many strong and sometimes unconventional opinions (INTP). I find them to be very non-flashy with their intelligence and very receptive to all kinds of ideas and information. They are also misunderstood a lot, and even mistreated, which is super annoying and whenever I witness it, my Ti likes to quickly slap the offender down. Also, INTJs are super helpful and caring; they tend to improve the lives of those around them enormously. Yes, INTJs are often focused on personal growth, which is just so...refreshing. Thanks for the video!

I don't relate to the stereotype that INTJs have the next 30 years of their lives planned out. For me, as long as my direction in life is good, I'm happy. Over planning leads to disappointments when circumstances change around you.
@AmigaCammy
@AmigaCammy 4 года назад
INTJs are more concerned about the direction the world is headed and where things will be in the future more than any other type. If you've ever spent time with one you'd see how they are able to project far into the future by understanding the cause and effect of every little thing that's connected. The INTJ I know has been like this since he was an infant, his focus on the future is unlike any other person I've ever met. Obviously a lot of mistypes can't relate. If you're not extremely concerned with the upcoming collapse of civilisation, the effects of climate change and how it will drive mass migrations, food shortages and war, you're not an Ni-dom.

I need to learn to plan less maybe. But I tend to have a plan for my whole life loosely mapped out at all times (actually several different ones to account for different possibilities). Hello, 65 yo INTJ lady here. You have explained so many things in this video I wish more people (especially feelers) knew, but as you said, they typically see the Te part, which is more interested in communicating information, not emotional content. I am extremely introverted so, I guess you'd say, the kind, relaxed, curious, part of me doesn't show. Not sure if this is true of most INTJs (or maybe it's because I'm a 5w4 enneagram type) but I am very tolerant and accepting of people. I enjoy being around eccentric people. My sister (an INFJ) said I suffer from a very serious case of RBF so this contributes the perception of me as a snotty, humorless, poop-head. You mentioned another thing I think is important. We act differently when we are focused on our interests and goals. Then we go into full laser mode. Don't want to be interrupted, don't want to explain, we put on blinders to everything else. Food, water, spouse, the 3-D world no longer exists except to serve our needs. When we accomplish whatever it is we want to do, we come back to our life. It's a strange thing to observe how we were when we were so focused. It was more than flow, it was total immersion. Oh well, I've blabbered enough for now...lol.

Many folks who study an issue or subject and encounter someone with a different opinion start blindly arguing, screaming, getting red in the face and becoming abusive. On the other hand if an INTJ finds some one with a different opinion who has studied and thought though a subject they love an in-depth discussion with the goal that both participants may learn something. You do a good job capturing some of the nuances of our personality type. We sort of have a 6'th sense when it comes to efficiency and logic. It doesn't necessarily mean we're going to always become uptight because of these things. I think the other misconception is that we're these ruthlessly direct people who don't care about feelings. That's completely inaccurate. I actually use my "Extraverted Thinking" a lot of time to protect people and their feelings. With that said, I will never initiate conflict, but if someone does something to blatantly disrespect me or get on my nerves, then I will go full 100% revenge mode. I will calculate a million different ways to get back at them and not feel guilty one bit having my vengeance fuel me.

I think that the free-flowing, easy going, observant, empathic nature of INTJs is a big surprise to people who take the time to get to know me away from work or other intense, stressful situations. Most people who interact with me do so when I'm in 'fish out of water' situations and I am more in 'robot mode' as I'm trying so hard to cope with what seems to me to be chaos, noise, crowds, emotional outbursts etc. I feel like I have to 'raise shields' or put my armor on in those situations, so I probably come across as fitting the INTJ stereotypes fairly well. But, when I'm in my element and things are calm, quiet, orderly etc. and especially if I'm engaged in situations that I enjoy like gardening, drawing, reading a book, building or improving something, playing a turn-based strategy game (video game or table-top game) etc. and they are with me, they get to see a totally different side of me that is more like what you describe in this well-done video.

I’m honestly starting to believe that older, more experienced and developed INFJ types come off a LOT like the stereotypical INTJ. My coworker/working partner (55y/o INFJ) seems more like INTJ and I feel like I do too (I’m 40), we’re both females. We both like the door to our work space closed at all times and behind that door is fun and magic that doesn’t happen outside that door. If the boss comes in, we both go into silent, serious work mode. a soon as he walks out, our magic returns! When we’re in the staff room, quiet. When we’re in the halls, quiet. When we’re in the classroom and the door is shut, it’s fun learning and working time (and sometimes spontaneous, intermittent dancing time when sitting goes a little too long🤗). This is off topic, but I’m VERY worried about our children and our school systems. It’s really upsetting but I’m figuring it out for myself and my family.

His mom (my daughter and oldest child) had a horrific time in the public school system (she’s a brilliant, independent and somewhat sassy, little INFP). It really makes my heart sing to know you’re homeschooling your kiddos and I truly believe this shut down will cause many, many more parents to choose to homeschool their kids. This is what our future needs. Children must be the priority if we want to thrive. Currently, we’re barely managing to survive as a functioning society. Oh! I had to edit this because if you’re like me, you’ll notice the oddities in my numbers. I had a horrific upbringing which resulted in my becoming a mom as a teenager, that’s why I have a grandson at such a young age. My daughter is in her twenties. I was a teen mom but my kids are all well adjusted and healthy and we have no teen moms here (well, besides me, lol!).

It can be hard to differentiate INTJ and INFJ especially if the T/F functions are fairly balanced (or out of balance in favor of the tertiary function). I can come across in a lot of ways as an INFJ, but I definitely Te, not Fe. I even have high agreeableness on big5/ocean scores - but in discussing with an INFJ who had very similar results the motivation for agreeable behavior is *so* different.

INTJs run the full spectrum of variation & each one of us has to find our own nitch... our own comfort zone. We bring capability & foresight into anything we choose to invest in. I hesitated sometimes about whether I am INTJ or INFJ, because I have always been amazingly good at interpreting social situations, sudden changes in the mood of other people. And I`ve always thought that it is indicator of Fe function, but i was typed as INTJ and I fit in the descriptions of this type very well. So the fact that Ni is responsible for my social discernment was fascinating and helpful for me. P.S. An interesting input on the stereotypes, thank you! I’m leaving this video with some food for thought, primarily the topic of “usually speaking up only if there is something wrong to point out”. I realize I really do this very often, because for some reason when I see some discrepancies/areas to improve I feel that it absolutely NEEDS to be said out loud, whereas if I have some positive feedback on the situation I will most likely keep it to myself, because I don’t consider it “vital and useful” information and would withdraw it for the sake of keeping the conversation clean and relevant. Hearing this brought to light makes me rethink my approach to conversations. I never really thought before that positive feedback is as important as pointing out pain points, just in another way of importance - a more “emotional/spiritual/human” one.

Huh... That's interesting, I never understood why people constantly told me to relax more, have some fun, be more laid-back. Though I never really reacted to it, in my mind I was like: "what in the world are you talking about?". This information will help me a ton! On a daily basis, I know I'm still a rather unhealthy INTJ (though working on it with a therapist), which comes down to me generally trying to act like an ENTJ too much. I think this video coined that explanation pretty perfectly for me.

Absolutely true. I was having a discussion about the differences between ENTJ’s (that is what she is) and the INJT’s (me) with a family member. I was constantly taking about the cost-benefit analyses that is constantly going on in my head. “Is this social engagement worth the effort”. “If I communicate why this proposed process will have challenges, can my audience understand it or should I just let it play out”. It seems like my mind is in a loop that weights out every action and sentence I say to determine if it will make an impact. That concept was just odd to my ENTJ friend. This is completely dorky, but we were discussing using a risk management tool at work called a Failure Mode Effect Analysis between my fellow Quality Managers. It’s a great tool but I can see some company culture issues that will cause road blocks. At the end of my monologue I simply stated “I don’t have much of an opinion either way nor am I emotionally vested in any specific process. I am more concerned about matching a process that works with the company culture.” After saying this, I think that is a true pulse of how we operate. We don’t care much, we just want it to work and work effectively. If it’s effective, I can go pursue the personal things that I love. ENTJ’s tend to speak up more and they tend to be a bit more emotionally vested- generally speaking.

I can soo relate when you said that Intjs are more like the original empaths because we can read body language, emotions from other people pretty well and that we observe and take it in to analyze rather than to act on it like an infj. Its exactly this that made me question my type cause i thought i am too "feely" for an intj (i also didnt know about the functions then). I feel emotions soo deeply, especially when i have a deep talk/heart to heart with a friend and i feel this "connection". Talks like these power me out but its a blissful, content exhaustion cause i connected deeper with another human and i felt what they felt! I also notice small details in body language and my Ni tells me immediately what it means, and i have to think on it and analyze it. It goes so far that i feel the "vibe" of a room i enter, like i receive all these signals from every person which sometimes makes me feel awkward when the vibe i receive is not relaxed, like there are things left unsaid. Its like i can tell when a person is not being honest because of their body language, i can feel them act and hold back and i HATE this the most! (Currently have this problem with a guy i am seeing.. i already know we have no future) Edit: i just remembered a friend of mine telling me that she is jealous of how i am able to immediately vibe and connect with new people i meet, that it seems to come so easy to me. INTJ here. I really appreciate this video, as the info is spoken clearly, quickly, and very organized. Some of the stereotypes are true, like I hate it when people tell me I am too quiet (when they are really too loud and hog the convo), or tell me to stop frowning...I ask them if they see frown lines in my forehead, or just a relaxed face? That usually helps them realize I am relaxing and not forcing either a smile or a frown.

The only speaking up when there is a problem part is weird, especially as a creative when people ask for feedback and I start off by pointing out the problems and they end up thinking that their work sucks or I just passive aggressively hate it. I do try to be more complementy when someone shows their art and to speak my mind on it, but I'm sure I just come across as awkwardly pretending to like it...
@icecreaminwinter6034
@icecreaminwinter6034 4 года назад
Perhaps this helps: Like their art not as a form of giving dishonest compliments out of politeness, but because it's an extension of themselves on paper, so the compliment feels less hard to give when you talk about it, like you talk about them. When someone is not that good, giving them positive feedback though, (before pointing to only one or two points where they could improve, but already show the potential for the right direction), will make them better eventually, because they will feel encouraged enough to keep on doing it, while also trying to get these few points that they've missed before. Artists are a little like self fulfilling prophecies with compliments. I dropped my favourite forms of art after being told times and times again by someone with narcissistic you know, that I'd be awful until I just tried something again and a friend of mine complimented it, even though it was nowhere near good back then ^^' Think of Toddlers when you're speaking to artists: The rainbow might have only 4 colours and there's brown in it for some reason, but having it pinned to the fridge will help them grow healthy. Ok that sounds weird, but I know most artists are super vulnerable once you talk about their work, so observe how much constructive critique they can handle in each case. It's called self-expression for this reason that it is in a way a direct link to their person thus direct critique on them to many... Sorry for the long post 🌈🟤

This video was just what I needed! Today I briefly mentioned to someone how an older INTP coworker of mine told me he thought I represented an ENTJ more than my actual INTJ personality. I'm quite sure it's just like you mentioned here with Te being our first 'visible' function, hench these so-called 'ENTJ' vibes I can give off to the untrained eye. My Te is most strongly involved with my serious goals and efforts in life which include my career and pursuing my study of psychology. In my free time I tend to keep a flexible and loosely planned schedule. Keeps me happy and healthy. Incredibly well put into words as always, Chris. Thank you.

Out of all these vids on youtube about this personality type, this one is by far the most accurate when diving into specifics. Great video! Thank you for addressing our intense/casual dichotomy. People usually see me as very serious and think that I'm tense or critical when, in truth, I'm usually quite relaxed and laughing internally at most things going on. That only changes when I've decided that it's time to act on something.. then I want it done now and work towards it should not cease until it is complete. I will use all tools at hand to do so, including people that get within range 😆

So true. I am super casual and relaxed. I just roll with whatever the moment brings me every day. Reminded me of how, over the years, a few have commented that "It must be exhausting" (pejoratively) for me to be such a thinker, and how I've replied; "Actually, it's not exhausting at all. It's effortless. It comes as naturally to me as breathing does." And it does. I hope that's true of all INTJ's, but I don't know many INTJ's, so...? Like you, I am 'always' laughing internally. Always. That said, what 'does' exhaust me, is overly emotional people. (This surprises no INTJ who's reading...haha.) It's like; "No, I'm fine--not mentally tired at all, it's YOU that exhausts me." :D

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Throughout my time at school and medical school there have been a lot of people who'd question me on why I felt the need to do 'so much' related to, but outside of my degree that would not really contribute anything meaningful to my grades or rankings. As a result I tend to keep very closed off about my personal projects and don't bring them up unless asked. I think this might just be related to how much I want to be as competent a doctor as I can in the future. People who don't know me well often underestimate me since I come off as very chirpy, naïve and unthreatening.

About critisizing other people's logic, it feels as our own logic is: "Let's correct this flaw now, because it might mess up the whole equation". I often want to be helpful, when I point out flaws in logic, so that there are no missunderstandings or bad outcomes, due to a logic flaw. But from the outside, that often looks like harsh critique and to some even feels offensive. What's funny, is that sometimes you hear people talk and you correct their illogical concepts 2 or 3 times but they do not really like it and then you simply stop correcting, because they are having SO many logic flaws and are SO defensive with them, that you just wait for the conversation to end.

It was the most miserable day... Never again. Better is to have a few running lists of must accomplish by end of day, stuff to do at some point and ideas for things I don't want to forget about but will probably never have time for so I always have options to choose from based on what I feel like working on at the moment. Not as efficient, but it works long term.

Great video, I love when MBTI stereotypes or errant perceptions are addressed and dispelled. It really helps to foster the understanding between people of different types which is more along the lines of why typology is studied in the first place. My father is INTJ and my brother ENTJ and it has been interesting to see how the two are different and how they have interacted over the years. My brother has become much more financially successful in his life, but my father does not put any less time or effort into working, his goal is to do his job well, not to schmooze his way higher in a company. Also, my father just sort of "picked up" complex computer programming, and he is able to solve really complex server issues that teams of other people can't wrap their heads around, but my father's true passion in life has revolved around philosophy, religion and music. So while he is dedicated to his job while he is doing it, his focus is on his personal pursuits. My brother, who has a law degree and works in a bank's legal department spent years focusing on "getting higher" and creating an image of himself to others, but his true passion was making his own video game programming company, which he has done, but his efforts seem more split between his actual passion and fostering his career. So as both of them have incorporated a separate path between career and personal goals, it is clear that my brother's concern is just as much about his image at work and his place in society as it is about his own interests. But my father, who is dedicated to working hard, does not care about his status within the company or in society itself and rather focuses on his own understandings of philosophy and religion and music when he can. What's interesting between the two, is that while my brother is pretty good at "schmoozing" people, which my father is not (sorry if that seems a derogatory term, it's the best descriptor I can think of), he isn't quite as humorous in his actual communication style. Whereas when my father gives a speech or writes, even on philosophy or religion, his communication is just riddled with puns and word play (something that as an Ni dom myself I really enjoy/appreciate in his work, perhaps more so than most people), almost to the point where one wonders if he is being serious at all. I think this comes across as a bit of a surprise as, to those that don't know him, he seems very stoic and serious. I'm not sure my brother would ever really be described as stoic by an onlooker. Though he is very serious in his legal dealings. Just don't come between them when they are having a chess tournament with each other, because that gets cutthroat . . . I also had an INTJ friend in highschool (not that I knew anything about MBTI types back then), who, to most people just seemed the most deadpan, uninterested, stone cold person sitting in the back corner of the room. But he was always slipping humorous side comments to his close friends on the side. So there is definitely a very jocular inner-side to INTJ's which just doesn't translate in their regular dealings with people unfamiliar to them.

Thank you for doing this. It is really hard for people to realise how relaxed I actually am - most of the time I really don't care about most things (unless they get in the way of the plan!) I *feel* like I am very calm and relaxed but when people do engage with me on something it is quite easy to be direct and see the point easily. In which case I can be quite blunt - unintentionally and it comes across as harsh, but yet I do still feel quite relaxed about it. It must seem quite paradoxical to a non-INTJ: relaxed until we are not! :)

I kind of don't relate to the 30 years planned out stuff mentioned in the video. As an INTJ I have kind of planned the next 30 years, more like a set of achievements and I'm a prospective teacher rn, so I can say I will be a teacher teaching kids/teenagers and have a pretty stable life for the next 30 years in that respect. But I don't plan more than that because life always disappoints you by taking immediate u-turns and all plans fail. We were not expecting a world war, for example, were we? I can't say what's gonna happen in the world, so I just know that I like teaching and the idea of shaping a generation in a good manner and teaching them is something I would like to do for my life. But anything beyond that is unpredictable and unplannable. Let's be real. All of us are regular beans, yes beans, who sit here and watch videos, pretending to have planned everything out and discovered the mysteries of the universe or achieved great success in some areas of life whereas in reality most of us are all living mediocre lives. It's easy to get caught up in fantasy, especially if it involves you in a glamorizing way. But truth is truth, it doesn't care about your opinion or perception.

I do match some of the stereotype of an INTJ but a lot in this video does resonate. The sterotype which match are: i do typically show 2 faces/emotions, neutral/happy(humour/amusement). I do plan a lot and have a masterplan (which grows), but as in the video, my plans are not typically detailed to the second. An example of my plan, is a 4 phase business model, i have planned every aspect based on my current knowledge base, but my plan includes years of study to gain certain insights, which would compliment my business plan. In turn, i have commited 7 years to studying 3 degrees (2 BEng 1 MSc) in mechanical, manufacturing and electronics, for the sole purpose of designing anything i need. However, i do procastinate (planned delay), but i always complete what i need to do by the deadlines i set. I do match the stereotype of entering academia / enjoy studying and as stated, i have entered STEM disciplines. My choice in studies have also be planned / chosen for specific purposes to compliment the masterplan. I do see things as they are, as a result respect is definetly something earned from my point, i do not blindly accept what others say but i do accept that a person that specialises in a specific field (PhD) should know more about that field than me, but equally i do not take their word on things that is not within their field. I am very appoachable and very laid back, i prefer to keep things peaceful. As such, i don't openly express my view on everything at the risk of others negative feedback. As an example and tieing into planning, i plan most conversations, i plan what i want to say, the most effective way of saying, i plan the most probable responses and in turn plan what i would say afterwards. I basically plan the conversation. The more that i have predicted correctly about how conversations go, the more wise i become to what not to say. However, if somebody questions me randomly, this can stump me, causing me to take to to answer or providing a very breif response. I do have a curse when it comes to planning though, which id like others feedback on. Especially when i have been focused on something / studying (reading something of interest), i find it very difficult to switch off, i can go to bed and lay thinking/processing for hours if not until the next morning. My only solution is to distract myself by watching comedies on repeat, such as family guy or big bang theory. This allows me to switch off, anybody else have this issue? I am definetly private for the most part, only letting people know what i want them to know. If i feel someone is digging for more, i happily cut them off, if i feel they are intruding/pushing things, i do give plenty of warnings though. I think i will leave this "brief" description here, as i could go on a lot more.

MBTI was a thing when I was in University. I got a couple of tests and it always turned out ENTJ. I had long believed that I was an ENTJ. I was indeed quite ambitious and checked most of the ENTJ stereotypes as a student. Until the pandemic hit, and being isolated from the world caused a great deal on my mental stability. Despite the depression and anxiety that began to take a toll on me, I realized how introverted I have turned. So I got another test, and now I am an INTJ. I got a couple more tests and INTJ they told me consistently 😂 At first, I thought that I was just turned into an introvert. And I began to dive deep into this MBTI thing because why not? 🤣 However, the more I learned and thought about it, the more I realized that I might be an INTJ all along. As a kid up to the teenage phase of my life, I lived in this narrative bubble and I was the protagonist of my own story. I was indeed emotionally sensitive but mostly to my own emotions. And because I wished not to show that vulnerable part of me, every time I was emotional (as a kid), I would express it with annoyance, anger, and some sort instead of showing my true feelings. And I take the habit to adulthood. It just rather than being angry, as an adult I would often take it as an advantage. Knowing how people feel with this weird intuition and working it with the best course of action possible to get what I wanted. I might know and recognise people's emotions and what causes them to feel that way, but I would never understand them personally. Despite being an emotional being, I never let it be the decision-maker. Somehow at the right point and time, the brain would always be the decision maker (especially big decisions). Also growing up, I was a more personal goal-oriented person rather than a mainstream goal-oriented person. It means I don't follow society's standard of success. I didn't care about the point or position I got at school, but I cared about what I learned and mastered. I care nothing for boring things and often dive too deep into something that took my interest. I have zero sense of time while doing it 🥲 I was also very strategic the whole of my life and failed to understand why others didn't see what I saw. For example, I always calculate what minimum question I have to answer right to get the basic minimum score needed and proceed to get out of the class faster so I can read my novel again. Or the fact that I know if I was bad at physics, decent at chemistry, and excellent at biology while maintaining a stably good stance on literature and math, but have stupidly great interest in social studies despite being a Natural Science major in high school, so I would most likely unable to get into the school I aimed if I take Nat Science test and got the mix ( Nat and Sos science) instead because it would give me better chance. There's more and more... The conclusion was that I was an INTJ all along. So why did my first test show me as ENTJ? Your video answers that question actually. I was just in a phase where I was driven by a clear goal 🤭 thus made me appear ENTJ when I was just on 🔥 Also, the very INTJ thing that baffled me for many years was the pattern one! I always tried to explain this thing I intuitively saw but always failed 😪 I saw the pattern, I recognised it, I understand it, and I can use it for my own advantage, but I can't explain it 🤣

I’m not sure I’m an INTJ, I took the test when I was younger and got those designators. Some videos seem to suggest that INTJs are robotic or very distant. I have, or think I have a somewhat approachable demeanor, although I get that I come off as serious and perhaps stern much of the time. Still not convinced I’m an INTJ, but believe (I’m an INT at the least) not sure I’m that planned out, smart or uncaring as the other videos mention but this video did give a great perspective on it that gets me thinking. If I were to elaborate a little it might be that while I am an INTJ(P?), I’ve adjusted to understand that people and their emotions are as valuable as other processes in getting things done efficiently. In short, I liked your video.

@@rexie1932 Frankly, it could be a double edged sword as you say. I mean, Ni being highly developed puts you at a place where you have evolved to tuning in to your intuition so I can imagine you trust it enough to know when to draw a line. However, if it gets to a point of being paranoid I do think it's a matter of how you manage that awareness. The thing with paranoia is that it can cause anxiety or the other way around which would then throw your cognitive functioning off kilter. As you can see overestimating the intentions of others can be quite costly in particularly one's mental health. In the end you are responsible for what you choose to do with the amount of time you expend on being paranoid to the intentions of others. The ideal solution is to 'learn' to realistically assess a situation and respond accordingly to the end objective of what you're in. Apologies if what I said may be irrelevant to what you were actually saying.

I think INTJs have that unique ability to objectively countermeasure or put in place contingency plans if an event were to come to an undesirable outcome. In the end, eventually there will be a way.

I was discussing Jung earlier today with a coworker. We were on about the archetypes and shadow self. It's interesting how his brand of labeling has taken more to mainstream than Freud, the father of modern psycho-analysis. I think Jung really got it. Freud's take always seemed superficial. Of course we want to take the roles of our parents in some regards. We are raised for it. But the processing of stimuli goes far beyond role. There is the synthesis of experience, conditioning, repressed emotion, and the functions, which seem to take it all in and spit something out. It's a blend, the human psyche. No easy answers. A mind can harp on a thing, or it can bypass it entirely. I think the elasticity of the mind will be validated by future analytics. The way survival for humans has evolved over the years, it will definitely continue to expand in definition, and with it so too will the capabilities of mental processing. Just think of the possibilities when adding cybernetics! What happens when humans can expand RAM per individual?! How is that gonna change the psyche game?

I agree with all of ypur points, except for one. I always speak with people about my ideas and intrests and really like to explain with detail how they work. Ps: i want to be a chef and i REALLY get serious when I’m working. I see myself constantly trying to figure stuff out with clinical detail and work the easiest and fastest way to do them. Like organising tools and timing my actions to get a perfect result, but not in every aspect of my life. My parent always call me lazy and negligent. But I’m really not.

MORE RELAXED AROUND THOSE THEY KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEP, YEP. FOR SURE. in high school i was voted as the 'class clown' (or funniest) my senior year BECAUSE i WAS THE funniest around those who i knew and grew up with for ALL 12 of my grade school years. i ABSOLUTELY WAS VERY, VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE with them ALL after all of those years. also, in seeing the humor lies in odd little idiosyncrasies i could VERY EXPERTLY CAPITALIZE on those things.

As an Intj, we aren't cold robots, but we sure as hell know how to be. It's not hard to shutdown or become very serious in the face of reality or the provocation of others (be it for violence, annoyance, incompetence, disappointment, etc). We (at least for me) also don't go out of our way to impress strangers, act energetic, or put on a facade as that's the extrovert field of expertise. We can, but it is extremely tiring and draining. I like to imagine a tolerance meter. Once that meter is empty, little things that I was able to ignore or didn't notice before starts to increasingly get annoying along, you get easily irritated (which can cause some curt and sharp interactions), you don't care about the same idiotic conversations you were entertaining with others before, and will slowly distance yourself to get that alone time or isolation we need. We go recharge, by doing work, research, go through philosophy, games, psychology, conspiracies, art, self reflection on your life's purpose etc... (whatever floats your boat). For the example above for the meter, I was picturing and using a party setting. Though do be warned that you're on a timer with us if we aren't in our element and feel like we have to be a host to a guests instead of just chilling and doing whatever.

I am INTJ : Think and overthink first, and maybe act after. Take time to analyze. Patient. My ex ENTJ, 9 years relationship : Act first, and maybe think after. Just do it now. Not patient. ENTJ like to party, talk and meet new people, spontaneous, perceived as haughty, proud, authoritarian, want always do something, to move, a leader. How was your day? : EJ and IP types, will talk about people and ... (for ENTJ) how they are efficient or not at work. I don’t really like to meet new people, avoid crowds, calm, seen as too serious, talk only on meaningful conversations, hate small talk. Don’t talk about people. Party are a waste of time, money and energy. Take time and think and overthink. Value time and energy. Always aware, observe, analyse, stare, sanitary situation didn’t change my life

The way you described you INTJs I really think us INFJs would really really really get along with you guys and as I said once before, you have very deep eyes and if all or at least most INTJs have eyes like yours then we INFJs could possibly end up being INTJs best friends. For the eyes, more and more I really do think that that depth is only from the Ni function dominance. Never seen anyone else so far with deeper eyes nor as deep of eyes as us 2 types. I would love to learn if my theory is true or not. I admit, if we met in person, I don't think you could hide your feeling from me, but I still may or may not say anything of what I feel, ha ha ha. You do seem pretty awesome to me I will also admit.

As LiJo (another INTJ youtuber) said, typology is cognitive, not behavioral. ;) So don't worry if you don't fit into the stereotype of an INTJ, because they are just that, general assumptions of a group, and not fact. Great video, by the way. :)

As an INTJ I went from relaxed to serious and back to relaxed as I aged. I had the serious phase because society indicated that I was doing something wrong: I had the wrong sense of humour, I spoke up at the wrong time, I said the wrong things. Later I stopped caring what society thought.
