The Porsche 996 turbo has the 3.6 liter Metzger engine which does not have any issues at all. It’s the engines in the standard 996 that may have issues.
Love these episodes. Not sure what Jason was smoking for a few of those, but he balanced it with some sensible suggestions just to reinforce that he was definitely smoking something. I too forgot that Lexus existed. Now which sofa has £50k down the back of it 🤔
Great banter! Love it. Always great when you bounce off each other. Winners for mine : the Alfa Giulia QV and the Aston Vantage. Both beautiful things with amazing presence imo.
Ohh some great choices! The LC500 and Giulia QV would be tough to pick between the two. I'm a big Alfa Romeo fan, the Giulia QV is the modern dream, but my favourite car of all time is the LFA.
Great episode chaps, I will hold my hand up and say I like the Alpine, it's almost identical to the one used in Alfred Hitchcocks " To catch a thief " one of my all time favourite films driven by Grace Kelly. Please forgive me . 👍
Brilliant episode - particularly taken by the 911 turbo. Also taken by the TVR Tuscan in the background of the green Austin Healey, although as someone who got burnt dipping my toe into TVR ownership (new Chimaera 500, second car after ''why did I ever sell it???'' Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI), a shame that looking at it makes it break down!
Excellent. Noble a good shout. I'd get a Rolls Corniche so I could burn as much fuel as possible and annoy all the climate loons when I go to Sainsbury's
My list , had to limit it to 1980s or 1990s to cut down the options. Best era of course for us Gen X. 1983 ALFA ROMEO GTV2000 £26850 1984 Audi UR Quattro RHD £49995 1989 MERCEDES 190E COSWORTH 2.5 16V £29950 1988 944 turbo Silver Rose £33400 1987 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands - Turbo Technics £33950 1998 Rolls Royce Silver Seraph £46000 1997 Ferrari 456 GTA £39995 1998 BMW 840 Ci Sport £34000 1997 TVR Griffith 500 £30850 1998 Lotus Elise Series 1 £27995
Enjoyed that. 50k would buy you a great condition Bristol from the 40s, 50s, 50s or 70s - very underestimated cars and amongst the most expensive new cars of their day. 50k would buy you a wonderful Lancia Fulvia - particularly if you steer clear of Zagato. There is a Lancia Delta Integrale at East Lancashire Classics for £39k - very tempting! I'm also tempted by an early Marcos - a proper 60s.70s sports car for 25k, with 25k left over to pay for 5 years motoring fun and no depreciation.
Brilliant video, I love the varied selection of cars. The banter was hilarious especially Damien talking about making a winkie tingle. 😂 Can’t wait for the follow up videos.
Early LC500 and LC500h both seem to be dropping under £50k in UK. Its future classic based on its design alone. 3.5L V6 hybrid version gearbox is weirdest setup in use at any modern performance car. It has 4 speed traditional automatic and two electric motors which are used one in series and another in parallel to create virtual extra gears in between automatic forward gears. Result is one automatic mechanical gear, two electric gears, another mechanical gear, two electric gears etc. Total is 10 gears where changes feel wildly different depending if automatic or electric motor makes the change. Very weird setup. 5L V8 non hybrid version has normal 10 speed automatic.
I have posted some reasonably harsh comments on previous videos but, I take them all back! In one video Damian has mentioned a P1, Evo Mak and chicane!
As I sit on a beach in the Caribbean, I’m watching this video and as much as I like the new cars, I love Jason’s picks of old British sports cars so beautiful 😍 I get the feeling Damian thinks they are rubbish? 😂
Great show lads. My choices were made easy by Jason choosing everything I would not buy with a gun to my head except for the Alfa and maybe the Ferrari. The 996 Turbo, the black Alfa even though it is black and I'm washing my black Panamera every two bloody days (Ireland ya see) or the P1. They would be my choices with the P1 probably coming out on top. Make your winki fizz had me in bits🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
entertaining and enjoyable as always! Given Jason's penchant for olde worlde stuff .. surprised there weren't any Morgans in there. More modern underpinnings and easier to maintain than the 50s stuff.. just an observation... and Lotus didn't make it in there either. So many cars to choose from though. The Noble was a bloody good shout though Damian! Nearly bought one of them 15 years ago..
@@TheCarGuysTV There are a few Super 3's for sale below £50K.. Aluminium monocoque.. actually going to test one within the next month.. I know what you're going to say though.. It's a tricycle!!
Some great choices but don't spend £50k on the EVO6. Spend £19995 instead on the mini Cooper S GP model in the background at Woods of Wirral. Just as quick across the ground (according to EVO magazine) and probably as much fun if not more fun as it's a Mini.....bargain IMO.
I’ve been looking at cars at almost this price bracket and have just taken delivery of an F type R. As far as a ‘sense of occasion’ car goes for 50k it doesn’t get much better
Bloody brilliant choices, chaps. As Skeletor would (probably) say: "White leather? You over grown alley cat! I must possesses the other keys! I must possess all, or I possess nothing! Anyone who disagrees with me, then I'll cover my throne with their hide." And if the wife was to intervene: "honest men do an honest days work, and I will destroy your village... who does that cabbage think she is?! You boob."
Great video and banter between the two of you. I'm not too sure about the Sunbeam Alpine convertible (did anyone notice it sported a floor change and not the awful standard column change ?) but loved the comment "When did I miss your 80th birthday" Keep it up. Oh, and I strongly agree with the choice of a John Cooper Works Mini. Perhaps not that surprising as I own one.
I love the BMW Alpine. I saw a white one in germany last summer at a autobahn tankstation. Very nice design and mechanics, a real drivers car in my opinion. I’m wondering if you guys like the Ford mustang from around 2018, especially the ecoboost 2,3l turbo. You can buy them for under 50grand…thanks for the video’s!
