From what I have noticed, there is largely no anime that can really ever beat the big 3 anime in the west. Even on RU-vid, you still see Naruto/Boruto having significantly more views and traffic than My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Attack on Titan. Even the once might Sword Art Online has fallen from its peak popularity with the new movie struggling to get 1/3 of the previous one. Naruto had like no real competition for a good decade, and the series really paid off once it ended.
Big 3 is a term given to One piece, Naruto and Bleach during a time period when they were vastly popular compared to any other anime series at that time. It was so popular that you can't escape any of the big 3 every time anything related to anime, manga was brought up. It was Dragon Ball, that gained world wide popularity just before the internet and with right timing of internet and dragon ball ending it's series, these juggernaut of a series took the spot light and propelled anime, manga to new heights. These were so vastly popular that it became a cultural phenomenon where anime, manga started becoming main stream. I don't think there will be anything that replace the Big 3 to become the new big 3 as anime, manga are now pretty main stream and there lot of series with fairly decent popularity and fanbase. There will be nothing like a period where the big 3 dominates anime, manga community just like how one piece, naruto and bleach did..
Dude the thumbnail is totally wrong, demon slayer is finished, jjk is almost done and mha....well lets just say it's gonna end in a few years (This lost is for the comics,I mean ofc idk when the anime version of those franchises gna end yknow)
@@illsubtoeveryonethatsubsto4606 Yes, the thumbnail is wrong, but demon slayer hasn't ended yet since it is getting new season next year on spring though the manga ended. We don't know when jujutsu kaisen is going to end since it manga is still running even though the anime ended but it is getting a season 2 next year.
As much as I agree with your points, I can't shake the feeling out of my head that even if it's not really the same we'll have something like the Big Three for 'our generation' so to speak. To me personally, I think Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man are those three. Chainsaw Man is clearly the hardest to argue but I'm just able to say it's my intuition. It all depends on the quality of the adaptation of CSM but besides that I do think that these three mangas show the face of the landscape of the world of anime an manga in the current times and maybe even for the future.
Every three of them are overrated af😂 (especially jujutsu kaisen and chainsaw-man, people are hyping it up too much when the anime didnt even come out yet)
@@doublemosasaur5091 While i don't agree with your opinion on chainsaw man. I would like to say that chainsaw man isn't just being hyped up, its got numbers to back it up When the trailer was released, chainsaw man sold 11 million copies. Of course, that's basically just in japan but i've been hearing people say that the manga is sold out in the west. Chainsaw man is incredibly popular on r/manga. With the last chapter being the most upvoted chapter on there, surpassing kaguya sama. On myanimelist, its already in the top 10 most popular manga with a rating of 8.69 (albiet, ratings don't really mean anything). Its the second most popular manga on anilist. Chainsaw man's anime actually has more members than demon slayer, its literally the third most popular anime on myanimelist for 2022 myanimelist.net/anime/season/later If you combine the 2 trailers, chainsaw man has accumulated over 15 millions views. I agree that people are hyping it up so much that the expectations people are getting just can't be met. When the anime comes out, its seriously gonna blow up, despite the manga easily turning people off by its tone and scenes.
@@doublemosasaur5091 jujutsu kaisen isn't overrated its rated how it is. however chainsaw man is in fact overrated. i dont agree it will be a big 3 member. the manga is good but definitely not jujutsu kaisen and demon slayer level.
I mean if you think about it with One Piece still going on to this day with content, Naruto is still living on in Boruto having epic fights, and Bleach is finally coming back this month, the old big 3 is still technically going on
I've watched bleach 3 times now, and honestly after this 3rd watch, I've noticed how bad it actually is. It has good parts obviously. But there's so much bad, it's not even funny.
@@qum3325 I wouldn't say Jujutsu kaisen is inspired by bleach because I feel it more inspired by naruto than bleach but demon slayer is mostly definitely inspired by bleach.
The new fen big 3 for me is MHA, JJK, and DS. I'm not really caught up in Black clover, bit from what I've seen so far in the anime it's a 6/10. The beginning arcs are kinda boring but I heard from a lotta ppl that when you first start watching it, it will seem dull but keep watching it and it will get so much better. So I'm still hanging on to Black Clover. Also Asta is loud af.
@@prasnikar9465 I forgot I made this comment lol and yea he did. I'm now a Black Clover fan and caught up with the manga. It's still a bit of a pain to rewatch cuz it's real slow in the beginning but when it gets to that arc where Asta fights Vetto it gets good. Also rn I think the new gen 3 are now MHA, JJK, and BC.
ok boy you are a fan of those now the big 3 is not tHe BeSt AniMe İT İS JUST THE TOP SELLİNG MANGA İN THOSE YEARS AND İBG 3 İS NAMED İN EVERY 10 YEAR İT WİLL CHAGE BECAUSE İTS NOT ALWAYS BİG 3 ON THE TOP SALE İN 10 YEARS EVERTHİNG CHANGES AND THE TOP SELLİNG MANGA İS DİFFERENT
@@dantered-nh4tb if there is one big 3 then there is no big 3 big 3 is not the best animes they were popular in the year 2000s and in 2020s most popular 3 anime its demon slayer mha and jjk learn to search kid.
There will never be another big 3. Bleach, Naruto and One Piece are it. Everyone is caught up on general popularity or sales but that is not the only thing that made the big 3 what it is. It is so much more about what they managed to accomplish in the time that they were being syndicated. Before them there were popular anime series like Dragon Ball and Cowboy Bebop but anime as a whole was still fairly niche. These three anime made anime as a whole more mainstream. They took it from being something that weird Band kids would reenact on the playground to being something that even a jock could enjoy without immediately acquiring the stigma of being a spaz. That is why there will be no "New Big 3". It isn't truly a reference of popularity but accomplishment.
At this point its really just set in stone as the Big 4: JJK, KNY, BL, and MHA. The fact I can abbreviate them and you still know what I'm talking about proves my point.
The big three are the big three because at one point, all three were broadcast at the same time, they came out with new episodes every week (except major holidays), and they all had painful levels of filler that we put up with waiting for the canon to catch up. No three shounen anime since then has followed this pattern, with long breaks, unpredictable release dates and pacing that can be rushed. But hey at least the new anime is all canon, right? 😏
I am on jujutsu kaisen Shibuya district arc on chapter 136 where yuta is shown and it's definitely Great but still it's not close to big 3 and I tried my hero academia but the war arc is soo confusing I almost don't remember many character and it doesn't get the hype for me and haven't watched clover
I honestly think you should read Black Clover. IDK but I did sense a bit of sarcasm in your talk about BC; almost as if you don't expect anything good from it. I'd say give it a try, I'm gonna go as far as to say that the current BC arc which Spade Kingdom Invasion Arc is better than Jujutsu Kaisen's and MHA's current Arcs.
I think it will be jujutsu kaisen demon slayer and chainsaw man those are the most hyped up anime currently (besides aot but thats ending after season 4 part 2)
The new big three huh... Well the best generation for animanga was 2000-2005 And during that time nothing came close to bleach, one piece and naruto The fact is even if the big thre ended sooner it wouldn't matter cuz the craze would still be around and it'd be hard to take over but now that anime has generally gotten more popular and the big three have become legend it is time to give the reins to next generation First of all big three define Shonen not senine fmab and aot being senine I'llgive some honorable mentions Haikyu-just ain't it Boruto-didnt live up to the hype had a lot of potential just didn't cut it though Demo slayer-manga ended Chainsaw man also has potential but we can't say anything just yet Now the big three Jujutsu kaisen Black clover My hero academia But there should be a new name expect big three that should be something like the successors of Shonen Now the similarities between both groups Naruto-asta Both wanna get in politics Luffy-deku Both want their names to be heard everywhere Ichigo-yuji Both wanna save people ,art style pretty similar to
To me the current big three are the anime in the thumbnail. But with Chainsaw Man coming up it can easily become the big 4! JJk, My Hero and Demon Slayer have the most hype and influence these days in shonen anime.
@@mobarenleidowu1336 demon slayer ended years ago, now Hell's Paradise is part of the new Big Three because it came out in the same time with JJK and CSM.
@@aburakuma4600 Demon slayer hasn't ended yet the manga has only ended because season 3 is still coming maybe this year. Also considering the fact hell's paradise ended shows that it not going to be in the big three because it is not a popular show like JJK and CSM, also the big three has nothing to do with how good a series is, it has to do with how popular the show how much sales is the anime making which demon slayer brings clearly that to the table. So yes demon slayer deserves to be part of the big three since it is a new gen anime even though it older than JJK and CSM.
For me, there will be no such thing as a new "Big Three". The Big 3 has made the most impact in WSJ and has made a very huge influence to a lot of animes over the years. Nothing will replace how the Big 3 gave most of the influence to mostly shounen anime.
Eh, this is kinda misleading. Sure there’s no “big three” but there’s always been around 3 pillars as it’s called in Japan for each decade. For the 80s it was Kinnikuman, Fist of the North Star, and Captain Tsubasa; the 90s was Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk and YuYu Hakusho; the 2000s it was the big three, the 2010s it was Demon Slayer, Hero Aca, and Haikyuu. For 2020s it will likely be JJK and probably a few others that haven’t come out yet. This is because Big Three is a western term that came because of the western anime boom of the 2000s. It was the first time that the 3 pillars were all brought over to the west.
One person can't hold the torch forever as all living things must do pass their knowledge just as anime it must pass the torch well we might never experience the burden of Itachi or sacrifice of ace or story of ichigo But we well always meet some one that will touch or heart once a again but we just not forget where it allll began the big 3
This guy discredited bleach so bad, he though yuji and astas demon trope was inspired by Naruto 😂. No u baffled individual, it’s inspired by bleach. The miss information is crazy😂, it was even said by both authors that this was the case. You know how you can tell this is true, unlike kurama, both Desmond’s are humanoid and can’t grow to the size of a city 😂
So one thing that black clover could do better than Naruto is to not contradict the messages.the story has relayed for us. Like saying that you can make your own destiny but Naruto turning out to be the child of prophecy or that hardwork can trump talent but having the most hard-working Character in the series being shat on by the talented people. Black clover has the message that no matter your background if you have a dream let no one stand in your way of achieving it , Asta is a peasant and so was his mom Edit: also magna beating Dante was part of that
Yeah people compare Black clover abd other animes to naruto too much and call the show trash. Ive seen a video recently and the reason asta wants to make his goal is a completely different reason than why naruto wanted to be hokage. If we really think about t, One peace had an ultimate goal before naruto so he's really the one "copying" like some critics proclaim. People just gotta stop being so judgmental sometimes yk?
@@GhostTetr4 Only close minded people call a show trash for having relations to other anime. If that was the case Jujutsu should be garbo for reminding me of bleach. Shoot naruto stole the "having a big long term goal idea" from one piece then lol. Its called having an open mind, and looking for the unique things bout an anime, instead of shutting it down over nothing. Black clover aint the fist one to make their seem this way. You should try it sometimes.
@@mockouchiha7579 Asta is your typical shonen protagonist an upbeat hero that never gives up and will do anything to protect his friends he also has a big dream which is to become the wizard king who is the strongest magic knight in the clover kingdom. Still don't see the similarities? His grimoire has a devil within it.
0:34 I don't know how it is over in the US or something, but in Latam Naruto and One Piece are still inescapable in both anime stores and anime conventions. I went to two different conventions this year (going to a third one), one in Chile and one in my country Venezuela, and they were pretty much impossible to avoid, they were everywhere along with Demon Slayer.
Actually I feel like we should just come up with new phrase for these new generation manga after all The Big 3 came after the Golden Era And I actually really like Black Clover while it always compared to Naruto and Fairy Tail it has an great story and while the anime may not be as good as the manga it does got it own advantages plus those ops are fire 🔥👌
Generally People who started watching anime after 2010 don't know much about anime....they either started becoz their friends told or they saw trending anime tik toks.......so here's a FAX....Big three is a uni-title given to those 3 anime because they were breaking records during their shonen jump timeline......i repeat "uni-title".....for example "BARD OF AVON" is a title given to Shakespeare....imagine someone says "who is the next BARD OF AVON?"....It'd be so disrespectful to that title.....
The Gospel: JESUS died for our sins on the cross, HE shed HIS holy, innocent , precious blood for us (HIS blood washes away ALL sins) HE was buried but on the third day GOD raised HIM from the dead. All you have to do to be saved is: Believe in JESUS, trust in HIS blood. JESUS did everything for you, no works are required for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9).
It's hard tho', as much as i hate to admit it, Big 3 is simply hard to reach. It's like by fate and hardwork of respective manga. Dragon Ball was ended and instead of getting one successor, the anime community was splitted so hard into 3 groups, the manga market sell was so toxic to the point that i saw some fans buying 5 to 10 copies of the same volume, just to make their fav manga to be in shonen cover for many months. It turns into worship culture instead of admiring art. The manga sell stats were so weird for those 3... Especially for One Piece and Naruto... The beefs between the old fans are still existing even until now. But on the other hand, big 3 can be the big 3 because no anime or manga were as competitive as them. They all felt into sub-pop anime. Inuyasha, Fullmetal, even franchise anime like Yugioh, Gundam, Digimon etc were heavily downplayed by them. They're dominating the whole industry where OP and Naruto beefing, while Bleach stopped the rest of the manga to reach rank #1 #2 #3 consecutively.
JJK & MHA, but definitely not Black Clover. One of the biggest defining characteristics of the Big 3 is their immense success, which Black Clover has none of. Demon Slayer is too much of a success and anomaly to really be compared to other series. If you were to call it something, I'd call it the Big One. It's boosted the entire manga industry, movie industry, and the economy overall in Japan throughout it's big year in 2020. It will have everlasting impact that rivals that of the actual Big 3, IMO surpassing all 3 of them altogether.
The Big 3 is not a title passed down to new anime. It marks the global impact and popularity of those 3 series for a long time during their era. Regardless of what series comes after them, they will never match the Big 3. There will NEVER be another Big 3. Period. What you think are the new Big 3 is irrelevant because its just your opinion. The actual Big 3 were called as such because of their long, unmatched sales, global popularity and impact. And that's a fact.
My new big 3: JJK Black clover Demon slayer Now a very controversial anime bnha is not on it bc while it is very popular, the big 3 were the BIG 3 because they were not only popular, but rather a great anime. Bnha is only popular either the fandom, or the hate of the fandom. The anime itself is not really deserving of its fame…
i think if people actually fucking read black clover instead of just calling it boring and uninspired they will realize just how good it really is (read the fucking manga if "astas too loud")
Honestly, i doubt there will be a new bug 3 cuz for one I doubt the new-gen manga can ever hit the manga sales the big 3 did. And even now I still see people that say "one piece is better then jj", or "naruto is better the mha, jjk". And yes those are just the opinions people have and personally I don't mind if there is a new big 3 but I feel it's very low and I doubt there's gonna be but iff there was it'd be sweet tho. Hoping boruto would be a part of it
but I think instead of bleach dragon ball should have been there in the big 3 anime place becausee first of all it deserves its place as most of weebs know dragon ball better than bleach 2nd point bleach has ended long ago and dragon ball is still in continuity
I feel like the big 3 is classified as as the 3 biggest manga that is way ahead of the others in sales and popularity rn that would be jjk Tokyo's revengers and demon Slayer
Incorrect. The Big three refers to these three specific anime. They were named so not just because of popularity and sales but also because they were all broadcast in the same time and together took anime from being relatively obscure and niche to being mainstream.
