Ranjit Singh Gill alias Kuki alias Kuki Gill is a former militant who was active in armed Sikh Struggle of 1980s in Punjab, India. He spent eighteen years in American and Indian prisons. He reconciled with Avantika Maken, daughter of Lalit Maken who was assassinated by Sikh militants in July 13, 1985. Kuki was convicted in his murder. Here he shares his experience of dealing with isolation/loneliness in the prison. He talks about his routine as a prisoner and how he continues with his routine after the release. Kuki talks about the issue of loneliness when mental health issues like anxiety and loneliness have emerged as major concerns during Coronavirus pandemic.
