The Younger Dryas, which occurred circa 12,900 to 11,700 years BP, was a return to glacial conditions which temporarily reversed the gradual climatic warming after the Last Glacial Maximum, which lasted from circa 27,000 to 20,000 years BP. The Younger Dryas was the last stage of the Pleistocene epoch that spanned from 2,580,000 to 11,700 years BP and it preceded the current, warmer Holocene epoch. The Younger Dryas was the most severe and longest lasting of several interruptions to the warming of the Earth, and it was preceded by the Late Glacial Interstadial (also called the Bølling-Allerød interstadial), an interval of relative warmth that lasted from 14,670 to 12,900 BP.
The Channeled Scablands are a relatively barren and soil-free region of interconnected relict and dry flood channels, coulees and cataracts eroded into Palouse loess and the typically flat-lying basalt flows that remain after cataclysmic floods within the southeastern part of Washington state.
Geologist J Harlen Bretz defined "scablands" in a series of papers written in the 1920s as lowlands diversified by a multiplicity of irregular channels and rock basins eroded into basalt. Flood waters eroded the loess cover, creating large anastomizing channels that exposed bare basalt and creating butte-and-basin topography. The buttes range in height from 30 to 100 m (98 to 328 ft), while the rock basins range from 10 m (33 ft) in width up to the 11 km (7 mi) long and 30 m deep Rock Lake. Bretz further stated, "The channels run uphill and downhill, they unite and they divide, they head on the back-slopes and cut through the summit; they could not be more erratically and impossibly designed."

Randall Carlson destroys the ice dam hypothesis. He proves that there is no way that ice could hold back that much preasure, but also the fact that mainstream says there was as many as 90 outbursts of the dam, is absurd.

But, that one massive meltdown of the ice is the only thing that explains what they see around the country.

@@jerrykinworthy9225 It's hard to fathom that the scablands are a result of 90 separate outbursts. The giant erratic boulders (some as big as a 3 story house) seem like they were moved by one massive force, rather than 90 incremental forces. I really liked Bret's explanation though.

...never understood how ice could form fast enough to stop running water. Doesn't make sense. Water would overflow any ice being built. Unless a huge ice mass suddenly slid across the river maybe. But that's not very likely, considering the size that chunk would need to be.

Great conversation with Bret. Next time he talks about the Missoula Ice Dam Theory be sure to mention all the studies showing that 1500' foot water depth to be physically impossible. Randal cites studies that put the maximum ice dam at less than 500'. The only conclusion left is that there were multiple large floods without any high dams. That extraterrestrial impacts caused these huge releases of meltwater. I would love to see a video of those events, wow, what a scene it must have been.

Great conversation, Science has always made gains through renegades; very rarely has dogma led to great discovery.. though it does support current technologies/industries.

I grew up there, and we used to go on Boyscout campouts on the rim of Dry Falls. At the time we were told that it was due to the fact that the Columbia River had changed course. Clearly that wasn't the case. I also don't think the Grand Canyon is the result of slow erosion. Andrew Hall has done several good videos on the Grand Canyon, and why it was due to the same massive electrical forces that formed the Valles Marineris on Mars. The notion that it's due to river erosion is as risible as the notion that Dry Falls is due to a change in the course of the Columbia.

I would love to investigate other areas of the world that were shaped by floods (especially around the end of the last ice age). I think something extraterrestrial impacted the entire earth around that time.

If you like pyrrha fact, I have a book for you. I got the very well learned linguists to tell it for me, all recorded before science "knew" of The Taurid Meteor Steam. I have been looking for the answer for fifty four years and found it, just to have the whole world deny the proof. I heard a great saying yesterday and modified it. My scientific dogma feels better than your overwhelming data.
