What the illness and death of our father taught me and my brother about life.
This is possibly the chapter that permeates my very being and heart the most, and something I've almost never deeply discussed with someone, and definitely never publicly sifted through as such.
I hope sharing this means something positive to someone.

Sven, I'm choked up and feel exactly what you're saying, agreeing completely. Cynicism is contagious and others that are hurting will willfully or inadvertently try to hurt us (misery loves company). Even at 55 with a joy for life, a belief that life (and nature) is my religion, I find myself donning the armor to protect my ideals from those that try to beat me down, those that value things over relationships and experiences. A simpler life amongst nature, away from workplace politics and posturing, away from mindless social media, away from government overreach, is my ideal. I count the days and look for new ways to advance to that moment where I can live my own life like that. In the meantime, I strive to live in the moment, in the now, as if the present moment is my purpose in life.

At your perfectly ideal age of 25, as you finish topping off your metaphoric gas tank that is about to carry you through the rest of your hopefully long life, it is vitality important to keep these thoughts of yours close to your heart throughout your journey.
