Technically speaking the E-100 is the most expensive tank. When stock it has a repair cost of 25.140 SL

Why have BR in the game then? Why have SL/RP Multipliers on the game then? It's almost as if the different developers of the game work in a bubble, not knowing what the other devs are doing. Having a Battle Rating system to decide the MM Bracket for the vehicle, only to have the Battle Ratings not correspond to the power of the vehicle defeats the whole purpose of the system itself. Also having variable repair costs on vehicle defeats the purpose of variable SL/RP rewards, and vice versa the variable SL/RP rewards defeat the purpose of the repair costs. Vehicles should have a BR matching the vehicle's power, and be matched with vehicles of similar power. Repair costs should be removed and instead have the SL/RP multipliers be the reward factor of vehicles. I don't think gaining SL/RP should be the "Reward" player gets from playing the game. I think having interesting and fair vehicle-matchups brings fun to the game. IF I enjoy the match, I will keep playing, regardless if I get SL/RP or not. That's why majority of my most played vehicles are of tiers 2 to 3. They don't give me research on end-game vehicles, but are enjoyable to play, and that's what matters.

This mean, the ones actually playing the Lorraine 40t are mostly skilled players who can afford to play this tank, thus further raisng this vehicles statistics compared to others and now the automated system by Gaijin will think it is, once again, overperforming, so the repair cost is beeing raised again and this repeats itself till this tank will literally be unplayable! Honestly, I think repair cost can easily stay in the game, so no one who actually cares about his ingame wallet will throw away their tanks, but it should never ever, not even for the best tanks in the game (and planes aswell) be so expensive that with an average run in said vehicle (1-2 kills, 1 cap) you'll loose money!

i think Gaijin need to change how to handle repair costs. It should not be as a balancing measure, as that is what BR is. Instead, i think that repair costs should be based on how often a vehicle is played. If vehicle that are played less often are cheaper to play, it would encourage players to play them, and add more variety to the matchmaker, as well as give Gaijin more data on said vehicles so they can better balance them.

i always scoffed at tank players complaining about their high repair costs when plane repair costs are much higher, then i realised that in tanks in a bad match you could lose 5 tanks so there would be a higher overall repair cost

Idea. If your tank has tires on it's wheels, it should have the option to eschew it's treads. At its own peril of course, because sometimes performance can suffer in the wrong environment.

the good about this tank is the mobility and the armor (its thin, so solid shots cant spall and aphe a lot of the times will pass troughout the tank)

You lost money because you went for a capture point... taking a lorraine straight to a cap at match open is a great way to get your face removed unless you were lucky enough to get kills on the way in before getting popped. It tends to do it's best work as a flanker/sniper. Not saying you can't cap in it, just that doing so is a great way to cancel out any earnings with that hefty repair.

Yeah, that is why I love to be stuck at low tier, just kill or survive, have a booster and regain economy.

WT really should separate historical vehicles from the experimental/fictional tanks that were never fielded.

If a tank performs too well you raise its battle rating. If a tank makes too much SL or RP you lower its SL/RP modifiers. The repair cost system is in place only to discourage playing a vehicle.

Lorraine 40T is a fun tank to play ngl but I never noticed that it's repair cost was 23k perhaps because I have premium

Speaking of repair costs: what the hell is wrong with the german Ostwind? In Arcade the repair costs are about 10k SL... even though it has the same penetrating qualities as the wirbelwind. Just the removed reload time between magazines does not justify triple the repair price.

If it was the other way around.. that most people survive in most battles for example in some kind of a coop like simulator battle then sure have it cost 20k to repair.. but in a battle where you'll die for sure.. yeah thats just shit.. If even a single player decides hes going to kill you. He will.. Arty, Rushing, Sniping, Camping, Revenge bombing, Heli ATGMing.. theres more than enough ways to kill a single specific person.

In my opinion you should not be able to lose money in a game, the repair cost should be taken out of the earned money but it should never go below zero.

The E100 has a much higher repair cost. They probably did this to annoy the players who won the tournament.

They could increase the BR if a vehicle performs to well.

The obj 906 is pretty much the same but has a stabiliser aphe and lower repair cost

imo no tank should have that high repair cost, just as no plane should ever have a 40k repair cost. Putting a risk factor like that doesn't balance the vehicle, it just makes its gameplay more polarising. So at the end, people who face this tank still are at the disadvantage of dealing with a vastly superior vehicle, while the more casual players are scared off playing the vehicle because they fear losing serious amounts of rp. There's a reason so few people play the Ta 152's (and ofc other planes I am not as familiar with). Why would you want to play a plane which can set you back 40k sl? Crazy high rp cost isn't balance. If something is too good or too bad, then fine tuning its characteristics and br should be the main way of balancing it. Rp cost should only be a variable in that fine tuning, not the only one though

I remember that like a day ago I was using my puma (7.3) because it got buffed and while playing find a recently spawn Lorraine 40t and killed... That guy probably broke his pc.

But wait, why is the conqueror 22k repair cost than? It has a slow reload, can be penned frontally quite easely above the gun (and armor isn't that usefull at 7.7) and it is sluggish?

The only competent reason I see that justifies high repair costs is that they dont want hordes of lorraine 40ts running across the battle field, so the repair cost discourages a lot of players from playing the tank. That makes some sense. However, in a grind sense, when you have no desire to play the lorraine, and you just want to move on to the next tank, well, youre screwed. You HAVE to play a different tank to continue climbing the ranks, and thats annoying, and if grinds are annoying, then people just wont want to play your game all together. However, what doesnt make sense is that you dont see hordes of Obj 906s steam rolling the battle fields, because by this logic, the 906 is cheap, so why wouldnt players play it? Its fast, has an autoloader, and pretty much no armor at all. The only major change is that its stabilized, which gives it a gigantic edge over something like the 40t. Its also at 8.0 and functions completely fine at that BR. I dunno what everyone else thinks, but from what I see, you can balance a tank by increasing its BR, see example A with the 906. Hell, it just goes to show that there are more ways to balance a tank than to discourage people from even playing the game with repair costs. Like, why not just make the repair cost cheap, and then make it so it doesnt earn as much RP? Its a fun tank to play because its pretty good, right? Then grinding with it should be fun, even if it does take twice the amount of time. I dunno, but theres definitely more ways to balance something like this. It seems to me like Geyjiggles wants people to have to buy their way into the grind, like a premium tank or premium account. Wouldnt be surprised if it was. Playing expensive tanks is bothersome enough even with premium, imagine playing on a completely free account and thinking that you'll be able to have a reasonable grind.

Yea repair costs on this and numerous other tanks are ridiculous. If this tank was worth 24k SL then we would see everyone playing them in that BR. Not for sure how much it takes to recoup 1 death in this tank but if I recall correctly its 5 kills without a cap or booster. I want to say the normal abrams and IP abrams are still double any other top tier tank as well. What was the super advantage of those again Gaijin?
