@@epsilon-1138 the draft is nothing compared to what Russia has done and continues to do they grab young boys hand them a uniform and a worn out gun and sent to the meat grinder they did it in ww2 and are doing now in Ukrainian. There is a reason 19000 people died a day in the defense of Stalingrad
A woman in my country told a story about her experience with the war. There were two young invading soldiers that came to her house, but instead of killing her and her family on the spot, they instead warned them to leave immediately. That's because the rest of their comrades were killing pregnant women on sight, and she was one at the time. She is Filipino and as you can guess, the soldiers that warned her were Japanese. Even with their violent reputation, there are rare individuals that did not lose their humanity. So I'm sure there's a possibility that there are rare glimpses of kindness like this even on an ocean of violence that is the German Eastern front.
@@chaldeankurdistani2322in Indonesian many Japanese soldier actually kind as long their high official didn't order them to do something bad. Children often go play inside their barrack and other, even receive Japanese ransom as gift.
One must remember that in Indonesia, the Dutch colonizers were worse than the Japanese, who promised them freedom and were kind to them. That was why the Dutch were not able to get back to govern after the war.
theres also a story about a young japanese officer that was assigned to a village in philippines he was very kind, he and his soldiers befriended the whole village but when they find out theres guerillas around they message the guerillas to fight somewhere without the villagers getting hurt, while on the way the guerillas ambush and killed them then he was replaced with a brutal officer and his soldiers too
Whether you guys believe it or not soldiers still respected the rules of war “mostly” both sides were hungry and starving food shortages were not uncommon around the end of ww2 So it built a silent respect amongst them. The same way with medics most soldiers did not kill medics cause there jobs were to just save the lives of wounded enemy or freind
Not really, quite a lot of German soldiers especially early war really really REALLY wanted to "eradicate the Bolshevik state". And during the war, almost all Soviet soldiers REALLY hated the German soldiers and unlike the Germans, the Soviet soldiers had more than "my political leaders want this" as a reason to fight.
I’m sure you would be very nice to the people who massacre the innocent and leave them in mass graves! And burn and kill their way through your homelands! Very cool!
They tell little stories like this that may have very well happened but most of the stories have death, torture, rape and pure living hell, people have the ability to be thoughtful and caring but most choose to be pure evil.
@@alfreddurbyn642the Russians did bad things in the war, but so did the Germans. Hate begets hate, pain begets pain, suffering begets suffering. Why can't we, for a moment, enjoy Humanity's good side showing through in this story? Men feeding men, all starving and freezing. No flag, no ideology, just humanity.
Soldiers tend to empathize even if they have to kill each other at some point, rarely does a soldier lose their humanity and that's why when war ends they fall into depression and despair trying to forget what they had to do to save the man next to them and what they did to the man opposing them. That's a heavy burden and the government's that send them to fight do very little to support them after war and we lose so many to suicide and others become homeless. They are the real heroes
I don't see the point in war. I say if Biden wants to fight Putin. Then Biden should fight Putin one on one. Instead of having others fight there wars. While Biden and Putin hide like cowards in under ground bunkers. While letting innocent people fight and die for a war.
😔 poor Germans it's sad to fight and die for a. Country that can't even afford to feed you. Those Germans got lucky those Russians were nice and shared there food with them.
I would like to see a Source for THAT story! Wehrmacht and Volksgrenadier Soldiers, mostly youth were Nailed to Doors and thrown in the River Elbe, there surely were not fed by Russians.
Source....recorded historical fact. Same was when Russians defeated Napoleon and entered Paris... learn your history bro...and maybe you will be a better person instead of moron...
Well, Germans lost 500.000 civillians, exsclusively from bombing raids by Amreicans.... While they killed 19.million civillians in Ussr. So Soviets were very gentle, beyond anything Germans deserved. Please, dont flaut your porpaganda based ign0rance.
Yeah, the Soviet Union and lots of their soldiers were famous for their kindness. NOT Revenge and brutality were a thing back then on the German and the Russian side.
@@chrisofficialplw-member Germans deserved to be removed from this planet for what they have done....so they are lucky to have been left to continue...
@@chrisofficialplw-member The Soviets were nice to the Germans. If they actually had revenge, they would have killed millions of German citizens, but this is not what they did.
My great grandmother before she passed away told me a story from ww2. When the soviets entered german-occupied Poland, german soldiers were retreating from occupied city. In my great grandmother house there was two of germans drinking a tea, while she was cleaning. When one of the germans went somewhere she put his cup away to clean a table. When the german soldier went back and saw a moved cup, he got very angry and ordered my great grand-mother to leave the house. At the street in front of the house he wanted to shoot her, but the second german soldier told him to not do it, and that saved my great-grand mother live. If he would not to this, i would also not be here probably. Nobody knows what happened to the good german soldier, but i hope he survived the war, and i'm thankful to him for saving my great grand-mother live. ( Sorry for bad english, i'm from Poland)
Szalona historia...
Usually, Soveits wouldn't do it... My great grandmothers house was occupied by German, they all lived in one room ( like 8-0 10 soldiers) they did everything for not disturbing my great grandmothers family everyday life, they always cooked food outside and offered to family as well. They were clean and friendly. But when Germans retreated, Soviet soldiers came and stole everything valuables etc. My great grandmother said they were like filthy animals.
There was a situation during the battle of Arnhem where British paratroopers and Nazi SS soldiers worked together to evacuate wounded men from a burning building. They both gradually picked up their weapons and resumed fighting when the wounded were safely further away.
Much akin to a Christmas Truce. There are times when one realized the enemy is just a man like yourself. Hungry and taking a big risk to get food for their fellow German Soldiers. So why not give them something? Far better to show compassion in times like this. 💪🏻🙏🏻✨

@@ОксанаЮщенко-я1с That is also true, on average, most European nations lost 10 times more soldiers fighting for nazis than against them. French, Norway, Croats, Finland. All were great nazi colaborators.
The Germans had 5.9 million (5 900 000!) military casualties. Civilian casualties total 9.9 million (9 900 000!). Of these, 2.8 million died through expulsion and deportation, 500 000 through air raids, 300 000 were murdered during the Russian invasion of Germany and Austria, 100 000 died in Soviet concentration camps, 5.7 million died in the four occupation zones between October 1946 - September 1950 as a result of undersupply, 472 400 murdered ethnic Germans abroad . That's a total of 15.8 (15 800 000!) dead Germans. In my opinion the actual number is higher! This is just for your information, since you seem to believe that not enough Germans died and that every dead German deserves it. Ugh, shame on you!
In Stalingrad, both the Soviets and the Nazis were experiencing great hunger. I once stumbled about a note from a German solider that went along the lines of "I entered our tent and seen viev of a german solider, and a russian POW, both eating my last supply of bread. Stunned, I laughed at this grim scene and finished the meal with them"
Did you know that European teather of WW2 was ended with sunshine and double rainbow over Berlin sky where the Soviet victor and German POW holding hand together while skipping towards the dawn??
Nothing is much worse than going hungry and starving to death. I have been in the situation of not having or able to eat for a good 18-20 days. Not something I try to remember very well.
In the “birthplace of the Taliban” I took money from my pocket to pay for a Pashtun man to take his young daughter to Pakistan for urgently needed medical care. The word got out and in subsequent intercepted radio transmissions the Taliban were heard referring to me as “our guest” (no small thing in Islamic culture) as I moved about on foot and in soft-skinned vehicles in the area (the enemy is always watching). Kindness and compassion do not go unnoticed.
He's not talking about defeated German soldiers. It's about German civilians. Many civilians don't want war and soldiers can sometimes respect and recognize this
Never forget, 5 to 9 million people died of starvation at the hands of the Soviets. Millions of Ukrainians were starved on purpose, and the food they grew was sent elsewhere
My father said the Russians would come into the mess line at night, wearing German clothes, nobody was in a mood to fight, so they just didn't say anything to any one, one time someone shot a pig, and after cooking it for hours, the wind changed and next thing you know the Russians came and assaulted, he said they fought for three days over the pig...
IRL the Red Army probably gave the starving German the same treatment that the German army gave to starving Soviet citizen during their Eastern campaign, which was understandable.
When I hear stories like these I just sit here and ask what ever happened to us as a society. These people were enemies but could still recognize each other as human beings. Like, why aren't we still like this as a society?
Eastern front. Calling Bull on this as the atrocities committed by both sides are well documented. Finding how the Germans took care of people, would make you avenging soldiers not this.
The Russians showed mercy because of what they are - real humans, not because what the Germans are. It's like you care even for the animals and feed dogs or pigs
Have you seen the video of hindreds of soviet prisoners down in a ravine and German soldiers throwing scraps of bread to them and laughing. This reminds me of that
No, but I know the video where Allied soldiers threw chunks of food into the crowd of German POWs packed together in a big shed. That looked very sad and disgraceful, for both sides!
Russian soldiers acting like humans for once. That is a mesmerizing story. I agree. Quite unbelievable. Now trivia question. How many watches the russian soldiers have on their hands at that time?
I'm not quite sure there is an actual photo of a USSR cargo plane from WW2 dropping food out there. Even if it is I doubt it's easy to find. But even the greatest idiot would have noticed it's a reference photo not the actual real life situation.
