Tbh the entire script was hilarious. It did such a good job of mixing cringy teen-cliche lines and more ironic humor with some of the more genuinely creepy and even emotional beats. The marketing of this movie is tragic. It was clearly something made to appeal to girls and gays (like Heathers, Jaw Breaker, Mean Girls, Clueless, and so many other classics) but the studio literally said "Nah but Megan is hot let's market this to college dude-bros" like... huh? The marketing also portrayed it as an erotic horror movie instead of a black comedy horror which is honestly puzzling. If they leaned into the comedy aspect and properly marketed it to young women it wouldn't have taken years for it to find its audience.
Did you read the script or are you just talking out of your ass? Scripts can change hundreds of times during the filming process… so me thinks your version of being honest is just you talking about shit you know nothing about
the marketing was actually intentional based on the production team's vision because of how overly sexualized Megan had been in the past from Transformers, to trick people into watching a feminist movie about female friendships and lesbian undertones of their relationship
When Needy tore off the friendship locket, Jennifer gave up. She stopped fighting, because she then realised that Needy was actually 100% serious in hating her and wanting her dead. Jennifer could have killed Needy so many times, but she never did. She loved Needy, and probably was in love with her, but sadly it was a toxic relationship.
I would like to point out that Jennifer even as a demon respected the consent - when Needy told her to get out - she did. Something that cannot be said about a lot of indie rock bands.. and/or some guys in general.
Except she broke into Needy’s home numerous times, so there’s that. Not that you’re wrong, but you are and should probably look up the definition of consent

But in this dynamic, before any demons comes into play they're already attracted to each other so to showing that in a sense needy kinda helpless when it comes to Jennifer even though she's not consenting anything, that's what's this movie trying to imply. They're both have forbidden feeling for each other!
The movie that this journey has. From the negative reviews to some people thinking its highly underrated to people actually liking this and saying its a classic. It’s so good.

I always felt Jennifer bit Needy and let her kill her because Jennifer could’ve easily killed Needy in the end, but she didn’t want to live as a demon anymore. When she was getting ready for the prom and was crying looking at pictures of her old self and putting the make up on, was kinda showing that Jennifer was actually miserable. And she told Needy about the Low Shoulder guys probably hoping she’d get revenge for her in the end…just my guess, but I always thought that’s what the movie was insinuating…
@@shania991 Yes she had an emotional connection to Needy and the necklace so when it came off she was distracted for long enough to get killed. But OP is probably right in that she at least didn't want to use her full strength on Needy
needy and jennifer are connected by a little bit of blood because of the sandbox scene when she sucks the blood off of Jennifer's finger. That's why she seems "connected" to jennifer and can sense where she is and when she's killing someone
Jennifer is honestly such a realistic portrayal of a typical popular highschool girl. Constantly inventing new weird terms, saying edgy stuff to get reactions, thinking she's all grown up, etc. It makes the van scene so much more sad and painful to watch, because she's just now realising that she's a lone teen girl trapped with a group of strangers. That's absolutely terrifying, and sadly happens a lot to real girls.
I've heard that men tend to find this movie more scary than women do. Or tend to not enjoy it as much. And I've seen people analyse this to be because the main character is a woman who preys on only men. A same phenomenon happened around the movie Teeth (2007) as it is also about preying on men. Just an interesting take, because this is something that women (and non-binary people) often feel in a lot of culture and media. So many tv shows/movies plots will be about a killer who kills a lot of mostly women, and there is a lot of irl crime that is similar. So to have it reversed almost gives men a small feeling of what it is like.
This is way off in my experience as a man. Idk if anyone found this movie scary, it was really good and fun though. Men tend to not care about other men tbh lol. Example, the tomb raider games. They make the unal1ve scenes super brutal. Men instinctively feel the need to protect her because of it. If it was a man, it would have minimal impact. This was a womans empowerment movie though. I still loved it.
am i the only one that always thought jennifer and needy were giving gay? i feel like jennifer went after the guys that needy liked because she wanted her all to herself 🤷🏾♀️. also that kiss was wayyy too long for their feelings to be like just platonic. loved the reaction! this is one of my favorite movies ever and i love watching people experience it for the first time!

I always thought it was due to how dangerously co dependent they are with each other. Needy adores Jennifer and Jennifer’s needs adoration. lol. Its to show how shallow and dependent their friendship really was.

When Needy rips off Jennifer’s necklace at the end, that’s kind of when Jennifer loses her powers or feels defeated bc she knows she lost Needy forever. Lmao yes! As someone said, this is for the girls & gays and men thought it was for them and were so confused by this when it came out. Glad more people are appreciating it more!
As corny as the movie can be sometimes, I love it so much. When this movie was first premiered, the audience didn’t like it because the trailer was marketed towards young boys and men. The director of the movie who is a woman has repeatedly stressed that this movie is ultimately about the complex friendships girls have with one another. It’s a drama story that happens to have horror elements. I wish there were more horror/thriller movies like this.
I do too. It makes sense, her friendship with Needy was ruined and Needy ripping off her necklace clearly symbolized that. She killed two of the guys because Needy liked them and Jennifer clearly liked her and wanted her to herself and she couldn’t have that anymore so she just gave up
For some reason, it took me A LONG TIME to realize I think they were bonded because (Spoiler for those who haven't seen the movie and are just reading the comments): they flashed back to a scene when Needy drank some of Jennifer's blood when they were younger. Jennifer got cut somehow and Needy drank the blood to help clean her wound. I completely forgot about the scene until literally watching people's reactions to the movie because someone actually kept it in their reaction.

omggg jennifer referencing aquamarine was so good. that was my childhood movie and i love it so much😭it’s somewhat cheesy and cringe but i think y’all would enjoy it. u don’t have to make a whole video about it but pls watch it on your own time.

Dirk may have been a little resistant but he still allowed his bandmate to kill Jennifer so he had to go. This is just me but I found Chip annoying I would've been happy if the movie just focused on Needy & Jennifer's friendship/relationship he didn't need to be there. I like the ending of Needy gaining powers after her fight with Jennifer she then goes to hunt the band down to get revenge for Jennifer. And here's a little Fun Fact: The is a Jennifer's Body graphic novel only at the end Jennifer lives & it shows her leaving town.
I was in hs in the '70's and we had an "occult" section; boy, times have changed. Guess ya'll don't have to do term papers anymore; I feel sorry for all my hs teachers--all anyone wanted to do their term papers on was the Devil's Triangle, UFOs or something occult, lol.
You guys gotta watch Not Another Teen Movie. It is loaded with a lot of 80s and 90s high school movie references, so you will need to watch quite a few of them to get all the jokes. But a solid parody movie that mocks the high school genre.

I'm pretty sure that the reason Chris Pratt was only in the beginning was because this movie came out at least 5 years before he rose to popularity. Chris Pratt wasn't famous yet, he was just an actor trying to get movie roles at the time.
Believe it or not, there is a real life case that inspired this movie! (well, the sacrifice bit, up till the demon stuff :p) Instead of Jennifer, it's the case of Elyse Marie Pahler - real life is pretty wack on its own, tbh

Fun fact, this movie was a box office fail because the production refused to advertise it in a way that was accurate. They previewed it to a bunch of college guys because they said “yeah it’s another hot Megan Fox movie”. So the intro to this video is pretty cringe and spot on to reality lol
Idk if you guys know this but this is based on a true story about a girl that was sacrificed by a group of guys wanting to be a famous band. The story is even more horrific than this though.
