Thank you so much for this video! I thought this only happened to me! You just don't know how this encourages me to keep on keeping on.. I was just trying to accept that I'm just not an artist. Even though I love it so much!

Sheila don’t ever give up painting even ugly paintings teach you some thing even when you’re at a block and you don’t know which way to go there’s something about the journey that teaches you to move on when you quit that the emotions have gotten to you let the emotions that you have fear hesitation thinking that you’re not an artist let those emotions out on a piece of canvas with paint with markers and attacked that canvas like nobody’s gonna see it but you if it’s fear that you feel let … it come out on your canvas you’ll be amazed at what’s inside you that will continue to grow … I promise you if you just never give up and just keep showing up and painting no matter what your paintings will happen

Hello again, Cheryl. In this painting, you were using my favourite 3 colours, black, white and gold. At 15:41 your painting connected with me tremendously. Visual artists experience many ups and downs throughout the creative process journey. But until we CONNECT with our artwork, we keep on going until it happens. You’ve mentioned this connection in several other videos and I firmly believe in it. It may take me several hours, weeks or even months to make that connection. When it happens, it’s like magic. Everything connects in perfect harmony and balance, including me. I usually use my left hand which will trigger the creative right side of my brain and switch off the analytical left side of the brain. The right side of the brain is where we can touch our feelings and emotions. Well, I think so.

YES!!! It is like this magic happens and you just know the painting is completed!!! I am (so told by a test) I am in the middle of the spectrum of right and left brained. So I too have to turn off the analytical side. I even have to paint on non computer days to avoid the two colliding !!

WOW! know what you mean about different papers reacting with the paint. I loved it at 17:40 and the final version. Repainted most of mine, but I'm just playing around to hopefully painting something to hang on my walls.

As an artist, we are the ones to stop when we feel it is right for us!!!! Several times I had a painting on my easel in my outside studio that to be was not done, but someone wanted it right at the moment it was!!! It is a great power to connect with a piece of art. Your opinion is critical to for you to instill as an artist!!! Thank you for your comment!!
