You’re supposed to remove masking tape while it’s still wet so that you can get cleaner lines. If you let it dry you’ll end up with weird wavy ones because the paint will bleed underneath the tape as it cures.
I think you need to cut the screws so they're not so long and going to poke your feet like why not use a bolt with a washer and a nut so that it sticks to the outside
