The Philippines needs to learn from Thailand; $ 1000 is too much, and the Philippines needs time to grow.

Real estate here is pretty insane. Tons of $300,000-$500,000+ homes in every major city. In a country where the average wage is a fraction of what it is in the west. I’ve been looking for a permanent place but man, it might be more practical to just move the family back to the US. You get more home for your dollar there a lot of the time.

While Malaysia and Thailand has upgraded its medical, internet, and transportation infrastructure over the last 20 years the philippines has done nothing in this regard. They have only built buildings and nothing else

I agree that Thailand has far better deals. I’d like to compare BGC with Bangkok just to see where you’d get more bang for your buck. Of course, BGC is a premium city.

@@Re3iRtHI beg to differ. Internet has been getting better year after year. Transportation, although moving slowly, is getting better. It's still expensive or the wages though. I feel like the average Filipino, at some point, gets priced out. I don't fancy the city life enough to want to be there. I bought a townhouse in pandi, bulacan. That's good enough for me to avoid rising costs. Renting in major cities in any country will always kill you because rent always increase faster than wages.

Hi Evan, I totally enjoy your content on YT. Your cadence is perfect and presentations are spot on. I have tried to contact you with a question that is not your typical question. It will help me decide if I will move to BGC in the next 3-4 months. I went to the location service you offer and I got to the part about how much cash do do have on hand. It felt like a skin tax tool. I have no doubt you would not do that . I stopped at that point, though. I will send you $25 for your thoughts. I would like your expertise that I know you have. If I do decide to move to BGC or the surrounding area, I will definitely need and use your service. Thank you in advance Evan!

I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad the channel has been providing you with much value! The reason we ask that question is because we do have a minimum investment for our services. If one can't afford it, we cancel the call. Can you shoot me your full name and email so that I can find your application form and get your questions answered via email?

$1000 for that? heck no lol Philippines need to get reality check that studio should be $800 max... albeit im sure being in BGC plays a predominant role in that price!

The location is really what you’re paying for, although very small!

1000? No. Yes it’s bgc. It’s outdated. It’s small. About 500/months is proper

@trevorsmith7753My own reasons: Communicating in the Philippines is easier because English is so widely spoken. I won’t be raising my daughter around a red light district, which is basically in every major Thai city. Transportation like grab is cheaper. BGC is cleaner and more modern than any part of Thailand. Tourist visas last much longer so you aren’t doing border runs like in Thailand. I love Thai people, but find they are much more worried about their image and LOOKING successful/happy than actually being it. Western food is much more prevalent in the Philippines. Just a few quick reasons.
@GuitarJams-zs7yf
@GuitarJams-zs7yf 9 месяцев назад
I never seen much modern in Philippines except in Makati which is close to the red light districts. And I think if someone wanted their kids to be raised right they would go back to USA or Europe and give them a proper education. . @@stevem437

The location is good for 50,000 php , but the interior design looks cheap and dirty . It’s a NO for me.

Thx for sharing. You are very wise and insightful young man. I’ve even visiting the Philippines for more than 20 years at least once a year. I’ve really seen how BGC has come along. Prices are quite expensive but if you plan you can have a good lifestyle. We just arrived last night for our annual Christmas visit. I’m a long time follower but just writing now. Keep up the good work.

"Expat" a very British short term for "Expatriate". it's not an American term.

Oh my goodness. Now this is MY speed right here. I love this. Even though I want to spend less than 800 dollars for a room, I'd fork out the extra to live like this. This is beautiful. I'm living in a studio apartment in Arizona, paying $1,400.00 excluding utilities.

Thank you, Evan. Are there additional fees in addition to rent on these high rise rentals? Not taking into account utilities.
@stevem437
@stevem437 9 месяцев назад
A lot of the time the condo dues are included in the rent price. Sometimes there is an extra charge if you want to rent the owners parking spot as well. Electricity here is HIGH though. Water isn’t bad.

Electricity will cost you between 60 and 100 dollars a month depending on how much you need to run your air conditioning. Water is only about 10 bucks a month.
@TheSavvyExpat

@@JJthelonelybullinasia I rent a two bedroom in Forbestown. I have older, less efficient split units and run at least one almost constantly. My electric bill is between $350-$400 a month. The $1500 a month I spend in rent and electricity is still much lower than I’ve paid in major US cities, so it doesn’t absolutely kill me… But still. Something to be aware of.

While Malaysia and Thailand has upgraded its medical, internet, and transportation infrastructure over the last 20 years the Philippines has done nothing in this regard. They have only built buildings and nothing else. The reason why i'm living in the Philippines is because of the visa considerations and the quality of women and dating options.
