Grim derp would be fucking corpses on the battlefield. It’s not super dark but just utilitarianly stripping the dead of geneseed and war gear then just leaving the corpse is a cold thing to do.
So they are leaving free space marine corpses for chaos cults or Sorcerers to pick up? Corpse-Stitched abominations would be powerful if the material used are from Space Marine Corpses yes-yes. The remains of dead space marine librarians are great catalysts for sorcery and chaos rituals yes-yes.. Raven Guard are traitors confirmed.
@@Fieryburritos it's not cold. We don't do it irl beacause of our religious rites or tradition, well that and health reasons, but since 40k dosen't work like that there is nothing wrong to it. It's just the raven guard tradition, much like how people in our reality burn or eat their dead.

I think you missed the most obvious one: Put the corpse on a throne, worship it as a god, oil those bones and feed it billions of psykers so it keeps looking fab.
The game Mechanicus actually goes a little more in depth about how the cult deals with their dead. Some options when you find a dead skittari allow you to loot them of their spare parts, other options are a bit more honorable, like praying over them with incense. One of the main character even has a line talking about it: "My emotional cores return dismay and anger whenever a Skitarii is described as disposable. No-one is disposable so long as they do the Omnissiah's work. Thus it is written."
There was an episode of CSI like that taking "The party's not over" literally. Dude died, can't remember if it was on the day he and his friends were going to celebrate it but he died the day before some kind of party that his friends felt was important. His friends decide to have one last hurrah and take his body and party with it, literally at times pouring booze into it's opened mouth. When the CSI's discover the body after the party they are incredibly confused about the condition of it until they find the guy's friends and they tell the CSI's what they did. They were charged with something thats name I can't remember but it essentially boiled down to tampering with a corpse.
@@Utter_Disc we can still dismantle the systems, melt the armor,recast the weapons and retrofit it to the next Custodes and masterwork it for completion. Piling thousands of Auramite armors and Custodian weapons is wasting space and resources just to keep them.
@@Utter_Disc a simple name plate or an inscription in the walls of the Imperial castle would suffice. A Custodes wargear cost atleast 1 planet to produce. Just using it as a memorabilia for the fallen is a waste.

@@fl9674 well the short answer would be: yes. The long answer is that all orks are to be considered latent psykers by default. Meaning that each invidual ork shares beliefs in such things as “RED GOEZ FASTAH”, "DAKKA DAKKA" and etc. therefore their guns shoot and vehicles work (fueled by the reality-manipulating beliefs). Blanks do not suppress their beliefs, however their beliefs are halted in terms of psychic abilities they provide. Ork’s gun is not likely to shoot around the blank, so I guess orks will get disappointed due to this fact and go melee and will rely purely on the physical force.
@@MrFallenone Depends on whether or not GW ever decides to change the, quite frankly idiotic, lore that Blanks have no souls. It would make more sense if they had sort of anti-souls; thus a Primarch could absolutely have been made with one, alas, current lore states they have no soul.

For the Adeptus Mechanicus if the tech priest die and their body can be recovered their data will be sent to a spherical ball of data/machine, and their augments will be passed down to their next of kin or given to other tech priest for rewards. For skitarri their augments are recycled, but for notable services they can get posthumously rewarded.
You would think the space marines would destroy their corpses. Should the Eldar analyze some, they may develop specialized weapons against them, like poisons or diseases. The Tau could try to reverse engineer the technology. I am amazed it hasn't happened yet.
There isn't anything to analyze thou. Every important technology is removed or destroyed. Like the black carapace can't be removed, but it's like a computer bus. A very good cable. You can analyze it, but there is no point to it. Other additions like a robotic arm.. why remove it? It's cheap by imperium standard, and both Tau and Eldar can make it, and make better too. This is true with most technologies. As for analyzing the corpse for weakness, that already happened. Pretty much in the first days of war, and probably in 30k. It doesn't really matter anymore. If an Eldar gets a lucky shot, he probably can kill the Space Marine. If he doesn't, and the Space Marine knows of him, hears, sees, can think of him, the caliber was just not big enough, than the SM will probably not miss and that was it. The Tau has plasma. The protected technologies are in case of the Tau, are the Gellar Field and the Warp Drive. Not any of the rest, from which them and the Eldar both have more advanced. Power Armor is totally sealed, and the Space Marine are super resistant to everything, and only spend the necessary time in battle, sudden strike, and go. However if sth can go through the Power Armor, it usually can go through the undersuit, the steely skin, black carapace, and the ceramite laced infused ribs. So guns, which both the Eldar and Tau possesses. There is nothing reverse engineer able left on the battlefield. The Tau has more advanced power armor, and combat suits than the Imperium. The only reason the Space Marine won against them was because of the Speed, Deep Strike, Brutality, Unexpected Melee, and Tactics, mixed with systematic extermination. I repeat. The Eldar can build SM Power Armors, they just don't want to, as they have this super advanced muscle suit, and the PA doesn't fit their ideology. Yes. This is why they are cursed so much.
@@Kareszkoma I imagine they would want to make all the artificial organs that the gene seed grants the astartes. All of them make space marines incredibly strong, adaptable and capable survivors. Replicating even parts of these could be used to make the Fire caste more deadly, the Air caste capable of safety flying through more dangerous battlefields, the Water caste more able to detect conspiracies via enhanced hearing, etc.
The Drukhari are superior in gene modification, body enhancement, and flesh crafting, so they don't bother reverse engineering lesser abominations like space marines. There is no point in developing cures for poison when psychic abilities can cure them. The Craftworld Eldar are the most potent psykers in the galaxy and have thousands upon thousands years of psychic skills and knowledge. Sorcery can enhance people better than what human tech can do, it is basically altering reality and enchanting them to make them super soldiers. Look at the Thousand Sons, their sorcerous enchantments makes them Invulnerable to non-psykers and the body modifications from sorcery allows them to withstand fatal blows that would kill Space Marines. The Eldar have millions of years of sorcerous knowledge, and the black library contains almost all knowledge about sorcery and the warp. Space Marines are imperfect, disease ridden, abominations. This is part of the reason why Cawl can modify them. SM are to be discarded, that is why they are full of flaws, and are just monsters at that point. So why bother trying to reverse engineer such incredibly flawed and cancer filled abominations when the Flesh-Craft and Gene arts of the Drukhari can achieve superior creations. The Necrons had already analyzed the Space Marines, for example, Trazyn instantly analyzed Fabius Bile's makeshift infinity circuit just by glancing at him, their Necron tech are insane and their analyzing capabilities are almost cheating.
@@KaiserAfini They probably are. The Tau have been studying xeno tech too, it would probably take thousands of years but they might be able to replicate space marine gene tech. There had been many Xenos that had gene tech and created strong warriors, the Tau is probably on that path too.

I read in a Ork short story (Where Dere’s da Warp Dere’s a Way) that Orks get reincarnated by Gork and Mork after death. Atleast the main Ork believed it would happen. Is this cannon for all orks?
Brutal Kunnin also mentions this as a belief of Orks, and that Orks will try and die in an impressive way so they can face Gork/Mork without embarassment
If I recall there is a successor chapter of Salamanders who eat their dead so they can gain their fallen brother's memories and he can live on that way. Edit: It is a Salamander Successor called the Dragonspears.

I love how quiet the custodies are. Like the space marines make a big deal about everything. There’s a ceremony and slaves to put on there armor. They are loud and purely there for war and battle. There dead are harvested and then who knows what. The custodies they put there armor on them selves in private, it’s custom made. They die and they are buried. They have art, they make poetry, they paint, they are philosophers. Custodies are so interesting. Any books purely or have a lot about custodies please tell me
Tau from some time in mid-m42 can upload the mind/consciousness of their dead into Matrioshka brains(can't take form that requires them to resorting into slapping warp magics there) to make the dead continue to serve the Greater Good from even beyond their graves Orks' dead can produces Spores for their reproduction
I think the whole Dark Eldar souls coming back to their bodies when Slaanesh clearly had possession over them, actually supports your theory about Clone Fulgrim gaining the real soul of Fulgrim. What's also interesting is that the soul automatically returns to the physical body if the body has no warp stuff in its place. I wonder if the other Chaos Gods have trouble holding on to their taken souls, or if Slaanesh is the only one that has this problem.
The fraudulent death industry pisses me off. People that care about you would dig the hole themselves with price of the shovels being the only expenses. And I would leave the shovels.
Ash is actually one of the main components in animal feed, especially dog foods. All the minerals which reside within bones, fat and meat waste are still there even when cremated. So it wouldn’t surprise me if all cremations within the imperium are added to there “block” food.
