I'm a grad student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. This video is part of my assignment. I loved this video, especially when you said, "When words lose their meaning, people lose their lives". Very Powerful words Dr. Koukl. Very powerful video.

Thank you for this, I will be careful not to label with the broad names. I've told someone who pressed for a label the life church was evangelical because I thought that meant it was focused on evangelizing. I'll just say what they focus on instead of resorting to labels.

I enjoyed the explanation in this video. I have watched it before and liked it. Another helpful explanation I heard is, "we respond to Gods love by humbling our hearts in faith, receive his Grace and become a new person in Christ." I also like the explanation, "personality and divinity of The Holy Spirit. " Also, I like to reflect on, "his finished work, his atoning blood and his unmerited Grace." It's simple but very awesome. Ash~

If only there was One Church who could define such doctrines and terms so they couldn’t be misused. Why didn’t Jesus think to give us One Church for this??

Fair enough. An Evangelical holds the Bible in highest regard, i.e., it is 'inerrant', but the way it is interpreted marks the difference between an Evangelical and a Fundamentalist. An Evangelical will believe in the Bible, but interpret it, perhaps, more liberally as narrative, or myth, or philosophy (at least in some areas). A Fundamentalist will interpret it LITERALLY and STRICTLY. That's the fundamental (no pun intended) difference between these two schools of thought. Curiously and commonly, Fundamentalists often hide under the guise of Evangelicals, without even realising they are the former.

Maybe I'm taking it too literally but - Ev- often referring to the night before Angel- spiritually higher being I- cal- "I call" So evangelical = one who calls on others to become a spiritually better version of themselves before it's too late. This means every person, including non Christians, that promote humanity's peace and harmony, are all evangelicals. .... I am an Evangelical Hippie! 😂😂😂

Rather too much emphasis on spreading the gospel here. Also, no mention of the fact that there are two main branches of Evangelicals; those that adhere to the teachings of Calvin and those that don't. Catholic: 1. Universal beliefs Catholic/Evangelical: 1. Universal belief. 2. Rescue of gospel Solar fide Sola scriptura Catholic/Evangelical/Reformed: 1. Universal belief. 2. Rescue of gospel Solar fide Sola scriptura 3. Covenants Redemption- works - grace 4. WCF/HEIDELBERG CATECHISM etc 5. Tulip

I dont understand why you have Catholic with sola fide and sola scriptura under them as these have never been part of the catholic faith either doctrinally or historically.
