What does it Cost to Sell a House in NC?
The obvious is commission in most cases. In North Carolina, it is normal for the seller to pay listing agent and buyer agent commission. But is there anything else that the seller customarily pays for?
The answer is YES!
State Tax Stamps and Deep preparation
State Tax Stamps or Excise tax is charge on every real estate transaction in North Carolina. This fee is also called “revenue stamps.” The calculation is $2 per $1000 of sale price.
If you sell your home for $500,000 here is calculation:
$500,000/500 = $1,000 in tax stamps
Also the Deep Prep - The Attorney prepares the new deed for the buyer and varies from attorney to attorney. Normally around $300 to $500 - I went high in the video to you can budget.
