What does it mean when God said, “Let Us make man in Our image” in Genesis

This refers to the 'imago dei,' which deals with the communicable attributes of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ also has 'incommunicable attributes,' such as omnipresence, omniscience, immutability et al. That is why God is God (our creator) and we are we (God's creation). Blessings to you. Pastor John

I have been using this site for many questions, but did know that you had a RU-vid channel. This is great.

My question in Genesis which am trying to understand is the gap between Genesis 1:26 and the actual creation of man (Adam). After Genesis 1:26, the physical creation man doesn’t take place till Genesis 2:7. Would be nice to hear your response. Again, from my understanding we are first spirit beings, we have a soul & we live in a body. From the Scriptures it’s very evident that spirit and soul are separate from each other. However, the words are used interchangeably according to this world. By-the-way, I love your explanations and this my “Go To” website when I have Biblical questions.

Some people say its like how we humans are spirits with souls and bodies in that way, we are like God who is One but triune. However I don't think thats quite right 🤔 😕

Good day have question not about this video but in general. Have given my life to God and stopped drinking and basically live my life accordingly to God. My question or if you can make a video if not made already that I want to know is.. Know it's a sin with flesh and sleeping around and all of that and that sex is only allowed in marriage. So the question is if you meet someone and it is serious and my intensions is to marry the person one day will it be a sin to have sex then or is it a must to be married first in order not to commit sin. Have walked the right path now and found God and really trying my best to do anything according to God's will but if I meet someone now obviously get to know that person and if feelings mutual and intensions is to marry that woman one day can we have sex or not and if we go to church and live a healthy life and live to God's wil, will it be sin then?

The only true living God Almighty Jehovah was talking to his only begotten son first born of all creation our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And when he ( Yahweh/Jehovah) spoke, he was speaking to his son. Make a man our image, God was making reference to character. Godly qualities, mainly Love. Peace 🕊️

Some theologians say God was speaking to the Angels. It does not fall apart because He says let us make man in OUR image. That doesn’t mean that Angels were made in Gods image, but that that man was a combo of God and the physical image of Angels. The reason being that 1. Angels were created before man 2. Men resemble angels to the point that the Bible says that humanity has unknowingly entertained angels and 3. Angels have biblically helped God with His projects

The Trinity doesn't have to talk to itself. He's talking to the divine council, his sons in heaven, reference Psalm 22. Dr. Michael S. Heiser explains this well. Everything else is good, but this Trinity talking to itself view is very common, but obviously incorrect once the rest of the old testament is studied.

"Marriage" is what the "Image of God" is. While there is only one God, God is not one person. Instead, he is three, the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When God created man he didn't create one person, but two, Male and Female. When a man and woman marry they are no longer two separate persons, but one Flesh (Gen. 2:24). This only happens when the Husband and Wife allow God to be the third person in their life and Flesh. Satan has been on the constant attack of Marriage since Sin entered this world and has introduced thing like Polygamy, Divorce, Homosexuality, and Sex outside of Marriage. He has also attack Marriage by having many Christians to believe there will be no marriage in Heaven by having us misunderstand what Jesus meant when he said "They neither marry nor are given in marriage at Resurrection" (Matt. 22:30) Jesus only said they won't marry "At Resurrection" because the Sadducees, who didn't believe in Resurrection, only asked whose wife the woman would be "At Resurrection." Plus, Jesus earlier told the Pharisees it was wrong to end marriage in divorce because God brought the husband and wife together (Matt. 19:3-6). So if Jesus was really saying God is going to annul all Marriages at Resurrection just because some people married more than once, he would be contradicting himself from having earlier said that God created Marriage.

Do you believe God looks like "mankind"? I question God has our meat suit, but maybe God is describing the conscious energy that runs this meat suit we live in? The difference is Jesus is God's energy and we are just an image with free will, although the one problem with the Trinity is when God sacrifices his "first born" in Jesus, he is in essence committing suicide. But, Quantum Mechanics actually explains how the Trinity could be quite simply:-)

God created Adam in His own likeness and image (sinless), then when Adam fell he created his posterity in his likeness and image, Genesis 5:3-“And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:” This is a sinful image and that’s why there has to be a new birth to be recreated in God’s own likeness and image and we see this in 2nd Corinthians 3:18-"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." This is what the vast majority of Christians fail to understand. Without the new birth a person dies in his sins because he is not created into the image and likeness of God.

Genesis 1 is Lucifer and the fallen angels. THEY made man in their image. Man is an idol, a trap for angels. Only one Gospel: The Gospel of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.

The God of the Bible is one person/being so the Triune God is a biblical impossibility as three separate God persons can't be one person/being called God. The New Testament makes it clear that God is the Father, the New Testament says nothing about there being a God the Son or God the Holy Ghost/Spirit so biblically speaking these two characters are man made.
