Have you seen all the hype around jackfruit? Are you wondering what it tastes and smells like? Does it really taste like chewing gum? Do you want to know how to cut, peel and prepare a raw jackfruit? I went on a long search, 7 months in fact to find this fruit and I tried it for the first time so I ca hopefully answer some of your questions and help you prepare it so you don't get a kitchen covered in latex.

I just tried jackfruit for the first time and I had the same experience as you. It was very sweet. And I don't know how to describe the flavor but I hate hate hated it 🤮

I really thought it was going to taste better than it did because of all the hype around it but I am curious to see if a riper jackfruit would taste any different 😊

@@gg_mix yes but here in the states they sell the entire fruit, the don’t sell smaller cut pieces, will have wait till I’m in Asia again

Just had some, i wanted a salad with tuna, the place was an organic place where I got it. women at the counter said it was like tuna. Well to me it wasn't like tuna 😂. Not terrible but different. Will i have it again, don't know, not dieing for it.

Thank you 😆 Ive never been in a situation where I dont know what part to eat before, but Im glad I got it on camera. I was laughing when I was editing it aswell 😊🙂

The flavour is an intresting one. I was looking for it for 7 months and finally gound it in a fruit and veg shop in Stoke Newington in London. If you can find some definately try it 😊

Have you tried jackfruit? What did you think of it? Did yours taste like chewing gum? Was mine unripe?

Your jackfruit probably not ripen fully- one I bought today was very fragrant and pots were juicy and soft and they tasted like mango-banana-bubble gum mix (not too strong flavour very nice).

Thank you for letting me know about your ecperience with jackfruit. I thought mine wasn't ripe. The texture was quite firm like unripe melon, whereas I thought from what I had seen in videos it would of been softer like the texture of mango. Mine did taste fruity like you said above. What was the texture of your jackfruit? 😊

@@gg_mix I’d say texture was quite soft, not falling-apart-juice-everywhere soft just pleasing texture.
