I don’t understand why Severino is gone if they sell. He’s only 30 and it’s not like they’re stocked with starting pitching. I’d give him a 2 year deal if he continues to pitch well.

We can’t trade him with the year he’s having so far. We can’t sign him long term with the year he’s having so far. Currently in a lost lose situation.

Reading the comments in here and the big X community comments the consensus is starting to look like Mets fans are fine with moving Alonso. We’ve seen enough of the inconsistencies to know it’s not working. This will be a strong free agent class so why not beef up the lineup to bottom where you don’t have hitters consistently go into slumps all at the same time. The team needs a leader and Pete is not that.

Pete already turned down a nice offer by the Mets. He is gone by trading deadline. Mets are not going to add years to the 7 that Pete already turned down.

Not at all. He’s a liability at first base. He doesn’t hit for average or perform consistently in high leverage situations. His OPS is below .800 this year and his value is predicated on his OPS being consistently above .800. Hitting home runs only matters if you’re actually hitting them in situations where it matters to the game. Hitting 36 solo shots in games that don’t matter only pads stats and doesn’t tell the whole story. That’s been my argument with the Lindor supporters. They always bring up his stats, but can’t answer the question of why does he struggle in high leverage situations so much then?

So who on the current roster does? Oh yeah none of them, Pete is not a liability at 1B that is a sad ESPN take u are just regurgitating and Pete has had to carry this lineup since he was a rookie with little to no help at all. Dont waste time coming back at me, from your first comment I can see u dont know what u are talking about its just repeat what Sports Center tells u. LFGM.

@@gshave3907 you’re just a Pete Alonso fan. He hasn’t carried anything. He hits below .250. His defensive metrics are below average. He never carried this team anywhere. He isn’t a leader and is a head case. You know who did? Cespedes, Murphy, Degrom, and Harvey at one point. They put the team on their back and made everyone better at some point. Pete has never done that for the team.

Trading PETE ALONSO would be the worst dumb ass move that MINI MARKET STEARNS will make. Righthanded power hitters like ALONSO don't grow on trees. BUT, WHAT THE HECK, AFTER ALL STEARNS DID TRADE A SOLID CLOSER NAMED JOSH HADER.
