About: Satisfactory
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies. The Satisfactory Train update and Nuclear update also adds in trains, train stations, and nuclear power plant to enjoy, if you can handle the nuclear waste that is! In some of our videos, we go over Satisfactory tips and Satisfactory building tips, as well how to build a mega base and manufacturer setup. Our Satisfactory Early Access let’s play ep 1 was started a few months ago, but now we have hundreds of hours since Satisfactory ep 1 and have built a giant base with computer production, supercomputer production, a huge nuclear power plant and hundreds of trains! Our giant train system covers the entire map and gathers uranium, deals with our nuclear waste, and Satisfactory trains are a very satisfactory way of travel!
Satisfactory Update 3 also changed the game entirely adding pipes, Hyper Tubes, the Awesome Shop and Awesome Sink (aka Resource Sink), a new desert biome, a new vehicle, and a ton more!

Satisfactory is an FPS open-world factory building sim by CoffeeStain Studios. If u look at the superposition oscillator in the swamp drop pod requirements, it says that their used in teleportation and dimensional warp technology. So teleportation is basically confirmed

thing is , there is a mod with teleport, dont know from were the guy took the design but, u just build 1 in each location, link them and voila, from edge of the map to edge of the map in 1 sec, prob gonna be the same thing but official thing in game and not a mod

The limited SAM ore production is only per restart of the game, which is an unusual game mechanic, and honestly suggests simply that they wanted an easy way to limit players collecting huge stockpiles of an item that currently has no use.

S.A.M. might also be short for "Stabilized Anti Matter" basically antimatter in a stabilizing matrix that makes it much safer to handle. you refine it to make antimatter to be used for power generation.

I reckon it's gonna be used for some kind of wireless power transmitter. Cabling upwards in large factories and across factory floors is super tedious. Maybe plonk one of those down and not have to worry about cabling together some enormous factory in the late game like the dev says

there is another ore that is not in the game yet, called D.E.A.N. ore . The S.A.M. ore and D.E.A.N ore are smelted into an alloy call Winchestore. This new alloy will be used to make better weapons to help defend against the monsters.

I think the Sam ore will be used as the final piece of the space elevator, then the space elevator changes into a planet killer weapon that kills all life. Hence why there are drop pods everywhere. You must succeed where others of failed. Maybe

My assumption was that it was to keep you from amassing a massive stockpile of the stuff before it had a purpose... which might ruin the game once it's implemented and you can just "blow through" whatever tiers and such it's used for. Can you just imagine all the players who have set up "refining" points for the stuff already and are just awaiting the update that gives it a purpose in order to activate their machines and wait for them to process the material? I mean... it's not like I did that... or anything... Using smelters... or constructers.... and everything else. It's not like I"m sitting around with a huge crate full of the ore or something and no purpose for it yet. I mean, there's no way players would do something like that just to "rush" all the new content when it comes out.

3:42 "to solve problems around their factories they dont want to deal with at that point" Clearly they're referring to teleportation. Specifically teleporting items from 1 machine to another which will clear up the need to use belts. IIRC Planet Nomads had a "wifi way" of handling items and storages

The reason probably why u have to reset your session to collect more is that they don't want you to accumulate this resource before it has usage. There was also theory on the Satiswiki about this for having dimensional storage so you could take anything from it if you build another ones etc but nice job with the last theory mate :D you got me rly laughing :D

I think the developer's comments about late game problems suggest that it's teleportation, as I imagine that not having to have conveyor belts and just putting a teleporter pod on each of the outputs and inputs would be much easier, but I think the in-game text of "glistens with possibilities" suggest it being used for cloning, as if the ore can be reconfigured to be anything.

I think you're on the right track with teleportation, but I was thinking something more along the lines of wireless power. Unlike belts, there's not really any challenge to setting up power cables--you just need enough of them. So maybe it could be used for some kind of "quantum power pole," where everything in a radius around it (including other quantum poles) is automatically connected to power. Maybe there's even several tiers with varying radii, and each is more expensive than the last

I could imagine SAM metals being needed for a teleportation device that allows you to teleport items across the map in an instant, easing the burden on logistics. Probably needs a crapton of power to do so, like, a disproportionate amount. "But why make other transportation obsolete?" Trains made long-distance conveyors obsolete and drones made train-difficulties in rough terrain obsolete. Teleportation can make both obsolete in the long-distance department. The energy use and limited nature could offset that advantage, making teleportation useful but not omnipresent. "Power isn't finite!" It sort of is. Since we can only mine a certain amount of ressources max, there is a limit to power-generation. Now, people who build systems large enough to mine that much stuff also need infrastructure that consumes a lot of power in turn, which are usually those with mega-factories. Their consumption sort of matches their production. With high-energy buildings like the particle accelerator coming in, it means enormously high energy consumption would make teleportation a concern for these players as well. In turn, casual players would be faced with a large logistical challenge to overcome, not trivializing their game. They can but don't have to use SAM buildings.

Going back to the alpha, before the cheat buildings, here's what has been considered: Mass Storage (probably connected to the pocket dimension) Raw resource converter (example; input 2 iron ore, output 1 caterium ore) Sam ore might be required to build these - hence you can't spam them around the world.

5:30 there is a mod for Minecraft that did this. Ender chests could be made with Ender pearls and they had a 3 color combination. Chests with the same combination would open to the same pocket dimension allowing you access to the same contents in different places. You could hook machines up to it to effectively teleport items into your production systems.

As a Planet Crafter player, it bears quite a color resemblance to Super Alloy (a mix of aluminum, cobalt, iron, magnesium, silicon, and titanium), which is used for most of the mid to high-tier tech in that game. And despite being called an "alloy", it's _naturally occuring_ in multiple places on the map, as well as periodic _meteor showers_ of the stuff. So maybe a similar thing will happen with SAM Ore, that it ends up being used to craft super high end stuff? Maybe it might even be craftable if you're truly a madlad, using one of every ore in the game (except uranium, SAM Ore is clearly _not_ radioactive)...

I suspect they have no idea what SAM ore does. The devs release super vague teasers all the time and encourage the community to guess, then they probably look through the guesses and pick one they like. (just like they did with the coupons)

I set up SAM ore miners ASAP and link them to containers. When I quite playing and restart next time it produces another batch. After a few weeks you get your containers full of it!

Imagine SAM ore will be required to build teleporters which trasports you to another dimension in same locations but completely different in any perspective, adding another layer to the game ( new biomes, technologies, new strange monsters, more dangerous , more fun, etc ). That would be cool.

sam ore looks like obsidian, and together with mercer spheres etc you can build portals to the netherworld. minecraft confirmed.

If they say it's going to used to easily solve problems my theory is that it will be used to teleport items from one conveyor to another, so that you don't have to deal with the logistics. Also explains why it would be limited.

SAM ore is going to be used to create dedicated storage! Which allows for automatic withdrawal of items, regardless of the distance! But, you'll need storage of literally everything available in the game! Beacons are required for accurate teleportation! So you'll need a beacon in a hand-slot for it to work!

Quantum storage bin. The outputs are wormholes powered by SAM ore, and warp items to a factory eliminating the need for long logistics lines, drones, or trains.

My theory is that it will be something to deal with plutonium waste, mercer sphere will be used for fusion power and sommersloop will deal with fueling fusion power. Just a thought

I like the teleport theory for sure and the cloning, but I hope they tie the S.A.M to the Sloopshroom and Mercer Sphere. Maybe 10 Shrooms or Spheres and 1 SAM Ore makes a teleporter

My guess: you know the summersloop and the other alien stuff. There is this one voiceline saying the human civilisation is suffering from a decease while the only cure might be alien materials. Sam might deal with that

The Sam ore thing that it stops mining is because they don't want you to hoard it in crazy amounts before it's actually released. They won't limited the amount per game session. Jace said something like that in a livestream... To let the player restart the game is no game mechanic that is considered fun, or a game mechanic in general. It doesn't go into the ressource sink because there is no usage for this specific item in the sink. Comparable to when you try to put it into a smelter or really any machine. It has no defined point amount so it doesn't go in.

My theory as to why you can only get a limited amount is: 1) bug 2) they don't want you to stock up on it until it has a use 3) there is actually a reason

SAM ore idea I have, maybe it could be used to make armour that has the effects of each armour peace like extra speed, flight, radiation protection, etc. I feel like it makes sense since it's an end game item that is difficult to get which would most likely be very rewarding. It would also deal with certain factory problems such as "I want to fly around but the radiation is killing me too quick" or "I want to run faster, but I'm gonna have to use the jetpack so I can go upwards easier." An armour piece like this could solve those problems. Probably not going to happen though.

@ImKibitz There are four discs that cannot be recovered, because the items you order do not exist (quantum computer and superposition oscillator). Quantum physics is a whole new world of possibilities, from superprocessing to the possibility of teleportation. So I believe that the possibility of being used to build teleports is very great. As well as antigravity ships. We can only wait and see.

I like the teleporter idea, but I think in sticking with the mechanics of the game they will still be belts. Belts that transport an infinite number of items instantaneously. This will get us beyond the 780 limit of MK3 on pure. I'm guessing the SAM belts won't hold any items or show them moving. My suspicion is that going beyond 780 causes performance issues with the engine, so this would solve both problems

Two of the crashed pods that we can't open yet requires "superposition oscillator" and "quantum computer" to open. In quantum physics - superposition translates to things being at two positions at the same time. I think this sounds like either cloning or teleportation.

With artifacts and sufficient S.A.M. Ore we can build a machine that resets our game progress to zero since the story is officially over after the fourth space elevator upgrade. After that you can help out as a voluntary beta tester with the expansion of the multiplayer mode. A theory as good as any other, I would say. (Or you stay in the sandbox, the developers won't care much.)

ahh.. I think they should really add flying machines to the game, instead of trucks, to transport goods around, like a drone network. My Christmas whishlist for Satisfactory: 1) Different types of aircrafts/drones 2) Volcanoes, for maximum-efficiency thermal power plants 3) Some type of flying enemy 4) More ore types, like gold, silver, zinc 5) Better splitters with automatic load-balancing, like 20% go left - 40% go right - rest go middle 6) A better jetpack which can not only fly longer but also hover at still position 7) Hovering vehicles which can scale mountains like eez 8) Enemy attacks on your base so that you have to set up gun turrets for protection 9) Nuclear reactors that run on Thorium instead of Plutonium, so that nuclear waste can be reused, and so that nuclear waste is much less radioactive 10) Early-game ability to plant trees so that running on biofuel can be more reliable Did I miss anything? Honestly i didn't even think of teleportation when thinking of end game problems... I was thinking that it'd be used for getting rid of nuclear waste like it made some kind of device that could destroy the waste in like maybe using a bunch of power to do so (SORRY IF THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN COMMENTED I ONLY HAD A SMALL LOOK THROUGH)

I legit thought it was a bug when I couldn't mine it. Would be a cool feature if it can be used for more than just a teleporter. Like a fabricator that can make items instantly, faster transport that doesn't use fuel, a power source, or can be weaponized.

Given the most recent teaser for 1.0 I'm gonna guess SAM ore might be used for quantum technology. The fact it caps as 50 is probably just to avoid the player wasting their time on a resource that currently has no purpose.
