You're right about the smaller bikes - however, when my 115 kg frame gets on anything smaller than a litre bike, it looks like I stole my teenage sons bicycle. Love the show - miss the Frank Zapa looking guy though.

Thank you, great as always. I must say that my favourite all-round bike for commute to track day blast turned out to be my GSXR 750. Loved that bike and really miss it. I have ridden for the past 50 pluss years everything from the old Vincent to the Kwaka 1000. From 50cc and up. Still stuck on the 750 though.

The fastest bike I remember owning was a 2003 Yamaha R6 with a few nice modifications. Now, in my early 60s, I ride a BMW R1250R and can only dream of my wife allowing me to own a track bike as well as my road bike. But if I could have a track bike it would definitely be something like an R7; the thought of being ridden by an R1 or Fireblade at anywhere near full throttle scares me stupid. Always love your reviews and thoughts!

Autogyro

MV until recently they were claiming on the tech spec on line with thriple arrow pipe and matching ECU on superveloce an increase of 6bhp to 153bhp and I think at 13300rpm up from 13000 RPM , the F3 a larger rise to 155bhp from 147bhp with single Akro and matching Ecu and largest of all the Dragster from 140bhp bhp@12300 to 150bhp @12800rpm with single SC exhaust and matching ECU. MV sell all these exhaust and ECU kits on there official online store.

The MV Super V is a beauty. I sat on one at my Triumph dealer. Nice, yet, pricey.

Love the honesty in these reviews. 120hp is about enough on the open roads, that’s power a la 1992. Yet still a handful on smaller roads. It’s not the bike it’s the skill. Same with photography and cameras. Give a pro a 10+ year old camera they will make most look like chumps. Save the money, buy a good handling bike and nail it to the max, then upgrade. All this exotica on normal roads is benign. 200hp with idiots pulling out in you, slipping on diesel in a forecourt, etc. money for nothing. Someone kicked my bike over in a parking place, lucky me it’s a 2004 Speed Triple not a Panigale. There’s another reason.

I’m currently lusting after a very low mileage and mint BMW HP4 Carbon, because unlike the current S1000RR I actually fit the bike and it’s rather special.

That's the most motorcyclist thing to say...that's a lot of there you go, it's worth the price. Boys and their toys, it never changes.

I'd rather be the master of 100 horsepower than be the slave to 200 horsepower. While I have ridden and owned a 200 at the rear wheel horsepower bike it certainly provides additional excitement with significantly more risk to your health especially on the street. The greater distances and higher speeds achieved with a two to three second blast is indeed intoxicating while at the same instance leaving you less time to react and smaller margins for mistakes. Just think the Isle of Mann TT is thinking of limiting the best riders in the world who can use both sides of the road to 250 horsepower because they are reaching the limits of what professional riders can do safely on a closed street course.

Yes the right noises make all the difference when your hand is vigorously twisting the grip. And if romantic rumors be true sounds like Don has his hands full too!

I think the idea that you have to push most 200HP bikes to their "full" potential or "limits" on the track in order to be able to appreciate what more they bring to the table than a comparable 120HP-ish bike is really kinda silly to me. Maybe I'm lucky because I live in Arizona, and there are many, many long wide open roads with triple-digit sweepers and clear visibility that one can open up a bit on. But I don't have to be going 165mph to appreciate what a Hayabusa or an S1000R or a 1290 Superduke has over, say, an MT09, a Street Triple, or an R1200GSA. I've ridden all of the above mentioned bikes for 100's of miles here at a 'spirited pace,' and that extra HP of the bigger ones is always delcious, and very clearly ups the enjoyment factor.

Gorgeous lines, but let's be real...that matte black on gloss black is just *dreadful.* Looks like someone painted the fairings with a rattlecan. The sould have went all-gloss.

As cool as MV seem after owning one I can say that out of the 55 bikes I have owned the Brutale was by far the worst bike I ever owned. Unreliable, no spares available and ridiculously uncomfortable. Just terrible.
