What does Toilet Paper have to do with AIRPLANES? 

We do this every other month at our monthly Aero Club flying competition in C172. Some rules we have. Always cut with the wing, not the prop. If paper gets in the engine cowl it will affect cooling. You will need to pull the cowl to remove it. Max bank angle 60 deg. No aerobatic manoeuvers. Cut as close to the top as possible to leave more for the next cuts. If you cut the middle it will likely bunch up into a ball. Find the right brand. Some stream nicely, others bunch up. Stay away and downwind of populated areas to prevent littering (and complaints) in residential back yards. We try for 5 cuts between 3000 and 1000 feet AGL. CFI Caloundra Aero Club. Now I understand why there is a Toilet Paper shortage. I enjoyed watching the video. In RC flying we would tie a ribbon to our plans in a ribbon cutting dog fight.

That has to be the narliest looking airplane I have seen. I can almost smell the interior. Now, I can see news paper caption " Florida man crashes in death trap covered in toilet paper". Last words on flight recorder Ohhhhh sh..t.; hey but I got toilet paper.

i used to do that when board on fire patrol in northern BC...climb up and throw out an adding machine roll that was cut with a knife...see how many times you can cut it with the "prop"

When I was a kid, my Dad's Boss bought his kid an airplane for his birthday. 1st thing he did was TP our house. It was great till my Dad made us clean it all up. It was even more cool when they threw out bags of flour to explode when they hit the ground.

Much cooler than the usual fate endured by a roll of toilet paper 👍

Long long ago my dad took me up in one of the Aero Club of BC's Fleet Canucks over Chilliwack when I was six years old for some "ribbon cutting" as it's called in the North. He was good at it, cutting the TP numerous times on the way down. He was good at terrifying me too...I swear I bent the seat-back support tubes while hanging on for dear Life. But I survived. I confess that in 49 years of aerobatic flying since those days I have yet to do some ribbon cutting. This video finally slapped some sense into me, and I will pick up some TP and give it a shot. Thanks for the poignant reminder. By the way, one important step I remember from my dad's technique is to remove the cardboard insert from the TP roll before sending jettisoning it out the window. Way back before internet I saw a group of loose party balloon below me. So I did what anyone else would do I (armed my guns) dove down to try at pop them. Unfortunately I saw them late and I flew over them. Did a 180 and tried to find them balloons. Those bastard did some kind of maneuvers and i saw them not where I thought they would be so I went at them climbing as fast as a 172 would go under war emergency power. But then damm balloons had more power and out climbed me. I circled around and spotted them again. But my pursuit was trail instead of lead and I ended up below them again with the stall horn going off. So I had to cut off the chase and head out of there before the balloons took me out.

Opinions vary, I always thought the most fun you could do in c-150 was spins.

Not recommend I almost killed myself. Overcast no wind over water lost depth perseption. Two of us cutting roll. Almost dove into the water before recognizing danger. Not worth the danger. Do loops and rolls instead. Had 46 A. Champ.

I’m sure you will catch hell from a lot of pilots but I’m not a lot of pilots! I’ve never heard about this but watching it in your video looks like a great way to check wind direction and a pilots ability to perform figure 8’s about a point with wind direction correction! Lol..
