GOT book writer is more Vata than Kapha or Pitha. He kept putting too many ideas in, and cannot finish them. That is why the wait is so damn long. He did not know to resolve it. Also, GOT tv shows sucked since season 4. Season 8 is the cream of the crop, it made me very happy the way it was turned. 80% of the original decisions in the TV shows came from the showrunners showing off the actors. The Dragon Demands channel featured the showrunnners thought process of their decisions. Maybe you can interview him about the topic of obsessions and anger management. The guy really need it.

@TheHadMatters
@TheHadMatters 2 года назад
To be fair, no other society has gotten to the point where everyone just learns and understands this, either. I'd argue it's the most important task of our generation to start finally establish teaching attentive, self-recognising life to people at a young age, and advance this knowledge as society progresses. And I'd also argue that it's not necessarily a shortcoming of previous generations that this isn't already established. It's only been very recently that we have reached a level of technological and societal structure where we have to take life into our own hands. Where what you enjoy matters in deciding what you dedicate your time to, because you no longer immediately starve if you don't do what you have to do.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Doctor K the wise?
@BygoneT
@BygoneT 2 года назад
@@TheHadMatters That doesn't work. It's precisely because you don't HAVE TO do anything necessarily, that you don't die unless you have to do something, that procrastination, avoidance and refusal of self improvement is so rampant. Rather than learn something you're told is good for you, you can always lay back, disconnect and play videogames, watch TV or read something. Which may or may not be a good thing depending on your point of view. People who take your word for it and those who intuitively see teachings as good will do it anyways but these people are not so numerous. I had the lucky opportunity and eye opening experience of teaching a class in high school, as a high school student. The amount of apathy, malice masqueraded as funneh jokes, and sheer disrespect teachers get is incredible and infuriating. I couldn't do it myself after that. You condition yourself and get conditioned into hating learning in general, and people wonder why their job isn't paid much. I spoke with one too many 20 year olds who are lost in life, and 30 year olds who barely manage to keep it together speak as if their teenage (and prior) life was in the hands of a complete moron one too many times, to believe you can efficiently teach anything that sticks to anyone who isn't interested already.
@TheHadMatters
@TheHadMatters 2 года назад
@@BygoneT And you really want to pretend you are making an honest defence of teachers here, BigBallZNiBBa? You want to place the majority of the responsibility for generational growth on the apathy and grandstanding malice of youth and call it an insurmountable task? Seems a bit defeatist, no? In order for teaching to work, first, the curriculum has to be good, and then the teacher has to either (!) follow the curriculum to lead their pupils through step by step, or be passionate about the progress of their pupils. Just one of them really isn't that much to ask. If you want to deny that classes mostly just fail because either the curriculum is terrible or the teacher has given up, go ahead and blame 15-year-olds. Just make sure you look back at where human kind has come from and reconsider how much sense your opinion makes every once in a while.

That’s one thing though about understanding yourself, when you understand yourself you come to understand ‘other-selfs’ and that simple action allows you to widen and heighten your consciousness above and below to others when interacting with them. HOwever, I realized that I am terrible at working by myself, when there are no external things to motivate me (such as grades + peer pressure). I now view this summer as a challenge to break free of addictions that have plagued my entire childhood (RU-vid, Reddit, Pron mainly) and learn the extremely valuable skill of working when nobody is forcing me to. Honestly, it made me a little angry when I realized how little school prepared me to be an adult. I always thought that getting rid of my issues was the way to go about things, but I realized that the more I sit with my issues and have hard conversations with myself, the more I understand my issues and can actually control them to some extent. I remember a video where you mentioned that it is good to sit with discomfort, and that flipped a switch in my mind. Eye opening... I didn't have the terms for it but I somehow discovered this on my own. One of my very many "oooh interesting let's learn that" things is dog training or animal training in general so I learned about animal motivation and somewhere along the lines experimented the methods on myself to keep myself engaged, interested but not over excited and in a good learning mindspace. I'm currently learning a language at home and it's truly my only true focus right now but to keep me interested, engaged and in a playful kind of place I have tons of ways to study. Books, apps, webtoons, podcasts, and listening practice with and without subtitles in varying difficulty all the way from "I understand 20-30% without subs" all the way to "I don't understand at all" but the no understanding level boosts my eagerness so while more success minded people would call it a waste of time its my favorite of them all. It reminds me what an adventure I can still have and still explore. I call it my gamer mode because its like wandering into a zone 20-30 levels higher than your character just to see the zone and where you'll be one day. Once I figured out that I can gameify learning I started to have so much fun cracking how to dodge boredom but it can't be done in a school setting.

After Radiohead released 'OK Computer', they had so much financial success and they became so popular that they didn't have to keep worrying about the success of their later albums. Thom Yorke had been very vocal about his writer's block and anxiety following OK Computer though- one of the most notable tracks off Kid A is about Thom's inability to cope with the touring and fame that OK Computer brought the band. Lol the description Dr K gave of himself was me to a T. Trying fifteen things, always jumping from hobby to hobby - languages, creative projects, training regimens for whatever skill I want. But quitting every one. And after years of it it's made me very jaded and distrustful of myself.

Second time watching this. I am clearly a Vata. Anxiety is what kills me and my solution in the past was lots and lots of intellectual work along with physical work. Getting too old for that burden. Lots of good reasons for anxiety (PTSD, CPTSD, etc.), but I've got to get a handle on this. Breathing exercises, eye movement exercises, hiking all help a lot -- as does my new low stress/high output/part-time job. Need to meditate but it's damn hard to sit quietly. I'll get it. I just have to craft the experience in way that interests me.

I feel like I identify with what you're saying about vatas. Especially about about being adept in chaos. But I always described it as the situation being in tune with my mind. Like, if there's too much order, I see it, assume I understand it, and stop paying attention. But when things are chaotic, I find myself in a much more focused state.

I wish I could get back to where I was before COVID shutdowns. I felt like I had figured out how I worked and was continually improving myself after my biggest struggles were in the past, only for this past year to make me feel like I’ve completely regressed into who I was before I learned how I worked. It sucks and I don’t know if I still work that way or if I’ve changed over the pandemic. Don’t know what to do beside constantly berate myself in my head forthright shortcomings I feel like I’ve already dealt with. I just feel like a lost soul

I think I know why the person asked that question, because people who are often helpful to others are often times suffering internally and they give up hope that anyone will help them , so they end up helping others.
