He said “sometime” in 2022 not “the end” of 2022 for beginning cybertruck production. He also said it takes a year to get to volume production, so “sometime” in 2023 for volume production of the cybertruck.

Agreed, I just sit back and trust that Tesla will decide when the right time for those things are, people are too short term focused. I expect dividends in 10-15 years. And I will be holding still when that comes.
Hey Dave, for Tesla to license FSD to other OEMs, presumably they would need those OEMs to install similar hardware in the same positions around the vehicle (i.e. a very long lead time to implement); or would the software likely be adaptable to work on different hardware configurations? Wondering if James Douma has given analysis on that?
Let's go Tesla! I expect the stock price to stay in the $700-900 range in 2022 and move above $1200- $1300 in 2023. It will be interesting to see how FSD and what the demand looks like for Model Y in 2022 when both Berlin and Austin start production.
@Dave Lee .. Point3 - FSD Licensing is easy to say .. but implementing it on any other OEM’s cars is drastically more complicated than it sounds. Basically, FSD relies upon the visual analysis from 8 cameras mounted around the car, and having the ridiculously powerful HW3/4 in the car, and that in turn needs OTA updates for the continuous FSD improvements, and that means integrated software / hardware for the OTA system, and some sort of integrated screen/GUI .. and so on. I doubt this level of hardware/software can be easily integrated into another totally different OEM design .. unless Tesla supplies entire chassis/skateboard/entire-subsystem to surviving OEM’s so that they can at least ‘brand’ the external appearance and interior design. This is what most German automakers already do, by buying rolling chassis from Magna Steyr (which they don’t like to admit !). So these legacy OEM’s are either facing a dead end, or they come talk to Tesla.
As elon said TSLA long term advantage is the "manufacturing"(Prototypes are easy while Manufacturing is hard)...because Companies can build EV's and then autonomous but while performing all those manufacturing is so very crucial which is tesla's edge ...loved todays presentation....also glad that tesla started to receive applications for AI team and Tesla insurance going live next week in Austin and other states in next year.... They are all caught in the same supply hell. Batteries, computer chips, and many other things are in short supply. None of the companies will produce many if any semis. They are very battery intensive and use lots of chips so it's going to be hard to do much production. Tesla is wise to wait till they can really ramp up for the semi and cyber truck both till they can not have to fight supply problems.
I cringe whenever I hear people waste their one question with Elon to ask him the same electric plane question that’s been asked multiple times in the past and he’s given the same answer.
A 'slow' ramp for Austin and Berlin would be 500,000 vehicle each. When fully ramp, they will be over a million each. The $25,000 model will be a letter (Not 2). I think it'll the Model A or Z.
Dave, great summary. The only disappointment was Elon not announcing a new performance version of the model Y coming from Austin in Berlin with the dual castings and 4680s.
@@thormothr5280 And sorry if my grammar and communication style offends you. My question, if clarity is needed, is how will Tesla differentiate Model Ys from CA vs Texas? The process, frame, paint, batteries and quality level will all be different in Austin. One idea that multiple channels have discussed is Tesla offering a Model Y long range plus from Austin that they can charge more $$ for and offer first to ramp up Austin. If not how will Tesla approach this with Model Ys being built differently in two factories?

I disagree. Where's the commentary on this week's atrocious news about the appalling culture of rampant racism within the company? As a person of European descent, I am disgusted at the simple suggestion that this might be an issue Tesla has *ever* needed to deal with. How can we be assured that this has been dealt with effectively? I never want to buy anything from an alt-right white supremacist shithead, however good she or he might be at engineering. Where's the leading commentary on this? Nothing else matters at this point.

I have read lately about the Model PI mobile phone. Are there any news about this? I haven't understood whether its a part of Tesla or another "branch" of business.
Cybertruck hasn’t been delayed ONLY a little bit, in that just a short while ago they were supposed to start production now, with volume production in 2022, whereas now they’re saying volume production in 2023 (that’s a year delay!). Never mind semi truck and roadster, which have been delayed numerous years now. All these hinge on the 4680 battery apparently, and yet there really hasn’t been much discussed about how long 4680 volume production has been delayed 🙄…
50% licensing on FSD?? Lol. Waaaay to low. Other manufacturers would be lucky to get a 10% taste to wet the beak. Tesla have put their neck out there and should reap the rewards (if they happen which is still not guaranteed). Now maybe remove all licensing when the next viable autonomous package comes out.
In #1 TSLA on a roll- Musk said the vehicle shipment is guided to grow at least 50% for a while -- I first jumped to assume the revenue was referred. Then watching the meeting recording, then I knew I made a mistake.
Hey Dave, great video summary. See what I did there??? I think most of your points are spot on. One tiny quibble with your analysis though. I think Elon was pretty clear about the major delay to the Cybertruck, Semi and Roadster having more to do with battery limitations in the short term. He mentioned that a further complicator is that the battery packs for the battery farms use the same cells exacerbating the situation even more and causing Tesla to make some tough decisions about where to deploy available batteries. We know that the cars are much more profitable per battery requirement so it makes sense for Tesla to focus their efforts on them until battery production ramps to the point they can satisfy all the vehicles and markets. Once they get the 4680 plants up and running at full production it'll allow all these programs to takeoff. My only worry is that the car production keeps ramping so fast that battery production can't keep up even when the new plants are online. It's a good problem to have but still a problem for the transition to electric in all its forms.
Elon also talked about Updates of energy business which will be provided from next year(2022) as this year its not been a good progress due to chip shortages.
Could you advise if we should work with a Tesla advisor to purchase model Y or just place the order online? Which way may we get the car faster? Or does not matter? Thank you!
What do you think about Amazon's partnership to create Blackberry Ivy, the "Android" of Cars that allow OTA update and a Marketplace for apps. It could be a platform for Tesla FSD for other OEM? Blackberry QNX is already working with 60% of OEM and IVY dosn't even require QNX to work.
