honestly the team watching the charger slowly approach and make contact with Truckla felt like zookeepers watching two almost-extinct animals copulate successfully for the first time
That's all really cool and pretty exciting, but the it can not be overstated how funny it looks seeing Chargla "anxiously and nervously" approach the Truckla port
Just saw the short wherein an Attenborough-esqe voiceover narrates the Chargela "docking" sequence. On top of Truckla's/Chargela's existence, I'd just like to thank Simone for listening to the fans and bringing this wonderful bit of RU-vid gold to reality. It's really made my day!
It's impossible to mistake just how hard Simone is struggling not to make a double entendre while Chargla spent a minute or two trying to orient itself the first time at 7:50
Yeah, last time I used a company pickup, it required: the keys, a screwdriver, precision 'jiggling', and the knowledge that the brakes maybe worked half of the time and were super 'squishy'.
And she has a much more sensible bed to cab ratio. Lots of modern pickups have essentially turned into unnecessarily lifted minivans with a little alibi bed.
@@mr.bennett108 I think the turn signals and break lights are still stationary on either side of that tail gate. The only lights that are attached to the tailgate would be the reverse lights. If those have to remain stationary as well, auxiliary reverse lights could be integrated into the bumper fairly easily.
@@mr.bennett108 "Can't have tail lights on a moving portion..." Actually you can, but they can't be the only ones. There would have to be a set on a non-moving portion. Source: look at the back of a Kia Sportage, and many other hatchback vehicles.
The funniest part about Truckla is it's more usable than a cybertruck. Probably more useful than most modern trucks in general, damn things are huge these days.
I love how cute you make everything! Feels like such a wholesome engineering and mechanical and woodworking corner of RU-vid that even I, the complete opposite of all of those, enjoys watching every time 🥰🥰
On behalf of my daughter trying to make her way in the world... thanks. She has just decided to become a bio-engineer. Not really related to what you do except for the fact that she calls you a bad-ass and is inspired to be a bad-ass too.
And this is why we’re all in debt to bad ass women like Simone. Congratulations on having such a bad ass for a daughter. You must be doing something right.
Simone never ever change. You're an inspiration to my girls. Chargler humping wasn't awkward AT ALL. thanks for the update about Phisicsgirl. I hope she recovers soon. Sending love and good vibes for a speedy recovery.
@@gormauslander She's not doing great health-wise. Here's Simone's update on Dianna's channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vydgkCCXbTA.html
This sparks joy. Chargla still needs some balancing since it still looks a litte top- and front-heavy BUT i've seen other attempts from big companies not looking that good in later stages of development. So: Two thumbs up!
The crowd of people sitting quietly by watching was great. “And here we see the charger gently approaching the truckla as not so scare her off. She opens her charge port in an accepting manner. My goodness look at the aggressiveness by the charger! I didn’t think he that much spark in him.”
Sick glad truckla still going strong and hilariously still a good investment because they still haven't released cybertruck lol I love you simone hope all is well in your life you inspire me to create with every project you show us
It's the Simone Giertz touch to her videos that make me smile. The leaving slowly for coolness and safety and humor is something many engineers on here would do, but it's Simone that's awesome enough to just nicely and somewhat awkwardly add "I hope you have a good day." Now I'm leaving the video smiling and having a good day. Thanks Simone.
I like the part where it un-charges by disengaging and just backing away, presumably until it hits a wall off screen. Nailed it. There’s something about clumsy robots that makes them feel soooooo…. Human? It gives them personality. Just goes to show that a robot doesn’t need eyes, or fingers, or really any physical human features for personification to take place. All it needs is the ability to emulate a head tilt, and we’re totally smitten. Or is that just a me thing? 😅
Truckla remains the best rendition of Tesla Truck lmao cyber truck is whackkkk they couldn't ask the spacex rocket engineers what happens to stainless steel in the rain??
Glad that Truckla still exists and didn't end up sitting in a back lot rotting! So many project vehicles do. Very cool update! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, I am so happy! I thought this was going to be a sad video where it turned out it was no more! Also, yes, I'm impressed as hell that you met the creator of MongoDB.
The first thing I thought about when I saw that the tailgate pulls outwards is "Will that crumble under load? Like, could you sit on that?" - A few seconds later the affirmative was proven; very impressive!
yeah only concern I wonder about, which is probably just due to the short video, in how easy to close it is, like making sure it latches securely, and if things could get into those slides and gum them up
I love Truckla. It would be nice to see any auto company release such a small truck in America today. They do get made & sold for SE Asia and other areas. Dozens of hours into a prototype charger that saves 5 seconds per day. Anyone can build a prototype. Mass production is hard. I wonder who said that?
If Michael Reeves had made this, the humping motion would have been on purpose 😅 Glad to see Truckla is doing well, and I wonder what Cheese Louise is up to 🤔
When I first noticed this in my feed, it showed that there were already 13,000 views after having only been up for 15 minutes. That’s a testament to how much people love you, Simone.
While growing up I thought there was something wrong with me for only working till proof of concept (80%). Then off to another problem to be solved. I had a circle of folks who loved finishing up some of my work. It was fun to see some of them go into mass production. Always a joy to see your passion. Take care and stay safe. Love Always.
Great lesson. The world would be a better place if we admitted what our shortcomings are, and invited other people to use their strengths to takeover when needed.
I’ve seen that on Nat Geo before but good job! Truckla looks happy and healthy. All my love to Diana and you and all her people who take care of her. We are truly heartbroken out here
Agreed, if you see this message Simone, please pass all our best wish's on to Diana. PS really enjoyed Chargela's nervous approach and penetration of Truckla. There, said it.
