one is the selfish king that cared more about hoarding every treasure on Earth, the other is a famous hero who underwent various labour to be one I think I know which one I would root for
lol. to be fair Gil isn't exactly a typical hero. the dude just wanna chill and observe humanity. the only time he actively intervened was because he wanted to free mankind from the gods, so they could create their own future (Babylonia arc). other than that, he's basically a presentative of us audience, just curious to see our beloved characters do their things. He's also unpredictable, you will never know what he's gonna pull out of his vault. You also won't know if he's on your side. this fate-doraemon would lend his precious treasure to anyone, as long as he thinks that would serve to ensure humanity's future. Herc on the other hand is the typical hero type, while predictable, its also reassuring.
Isn't Alcides an anomaly? From what I remember, in the strange fake manga, Alcides is a by-product of corrupting Heracles that's summoned in the archer class, and if my speculations are correct, Alcides will be in the avenger class (correct me if I'm wrong)
Fun Fact: During the 5th HGW when Heracles was rampaging through, he and Medusa saw each other and the latter immediately retreats. She immediately knew who's she's facing and decided not to fight.
Small fact: Medea and Heracles were good friends and Heracles told her that if Jason ever betrayed her she could go look for him and he'd take care of her. However, when Medea found Heracles he had gone Berserk after killing his kids. Medea cured him, but since he became busy with his 12 works she ended up leaving. That may be why Medea is so keen to communicate with Heracles.
That fact that Heracles, even in his Berserker state, still feels uncomfortable around Chiron is rather sad. That event is permanently ingrained into any Heracles Saint Graph. Chiron is that parent who won’t be angry at his child even if they did something that negatively affects him by accident.
Anybody would be traumatized to see their father figure scream and whither to poison so harsh that he gave up his own immortality so Heracles would kill him, ending the pain. It is not a pretty sight to see.
It never stops being weird to think about how Heracles, one of the strongest servants, recognized as one of the strongest servants in Fate by all the other servants, is a 4* servant in FGO.
I work it out as being that Heracles in his Berserker form just isn't as useful as many of his other classes. As an Archer he's noticeably far more proficient against Gilgamesh as Alcides shows, and as a Saber he'd gain an even stronger Anti-Magic presence on top of his peerless swordplay. Not to mention the number of mythical beasts he tamed he could potentially ride as NPs as a Rider. Even as just a Lancer or Assassin, his excellent spearwork and clever trickery from myth would make him extremely versatile. All he can do in Zerker form is hit stuff, and tank stuff. *Really really well,* yeah, but even then limited by his Master. Like, Ritsuka's version of Heracles is notably weaker than Ilya's, given he lacks the 12 lives and instead has to make up with a damaging NP.
@@JacksonJinn Well alcides is completely different from archer hercules. If archer herc was summoned he wouldnt be able to use 12NPs. Thats why hes pretty confident against gil, especially since he can seal away Ea. Ofc archer herc woouldnt be a slouch but he wouldnt be talking that much crap
Not for me, I'm working towards getting him to lvl 120 now that the servant coins have been added. I love Heracles and everything goes to him ahhaha. Got bond 15, skils all 10 but sadly missing 1 copy of him to get np5
@@JacksonJinn I don't know about Ritsuka version though since they can just use Chaldea's mana reserve anyway. This is why in lots of events we had so many servants wandering around in the facility. Although if you think about game sense we can only get about 4 lives or guts not accounting for the guts skill cool down and take it as one use only
"Hmmhmm... as I thought, Berserker is strong, isn't he?" Illya/Sitonai has no qualms letting the player be Heracles' Master, seeing as she too is a Servant in this, and can tell that his powerful strength is appreciated.
Alcides/Herc Archer will be a big news if he got a banner in FGO, but Stange Fake's author still abides on their rule of "I will finish this, then you got collab"
In strange fake even alcides likes him and warns his master not to insult him in fate myth jason was the few beings who treated Heracles like a person and believed in him even in okeanus
I don't know why but I'm imagining Heracles carrying Sitonai on his shoulder while Jason is being carried under arm with a big grin on his face. I'm also imagining the shadow/fragment of Heracles that Sitonai has fusing with Heracles to make a proper 5 star Heracles that has full God Hand and has maybe 2 Nine lives blades and or 1 Nine lives blade and the axe he has at 3rd+ ascension. He'd maybe have a buster np, 2 buster, 2 arts, and 1 quick cards.
Miss Crane's possible reference: for his murder of Iphitus (induced by madness), Heracles was, by the command of the Delphic Oracle Xenoclea, remanded as a slave to Omphale for the period of a year. Heracles was forced to do women's work and even wear women's clothing and hold a basket of wool while Omphale and her maidens did their spinning.
@@Vejitatheouji Absolutely that one for me. It wasn't the greatest show in history. But it was pretty fun and definitely helped fuel my appreciation of Heracles. Even though I also tend to just want to call him Hercules.
despite all the new servant coming into the game heracles is always the one saving my ass in the story quest, like bruh i'm not even doing that in purpose i just instinctivelly put him in the party at each final story quest boss and when everyone is dead he is the one finishing the job.
@@agravain9006 I think he'd be a hunter that tracks prey and surprises it, he could have a noble phantasm unique to that class that makes it snow so much that nobody can run anymore besides heracles or it could just be dropping a rock on someone's back
I’m a little sad Penethesila calls Heracles enemy to her sister, since, at least from my understanding, Heracles was originally only taking the girdle through negotiations, not violence, until Hera got the Amazons all angry at him
I think Hippolyta is still smitten by Herc, so I'm excited for Hippolyta to come and join Chaldea. It would be pretty cool to see them interact(and sad, since Zerk Herc is probably the only one we'll be getting besides Alcides, so it'll be hard to make a Convo).
According to Fake, Hippolyta was killed by Herk, she mentions it the first time she appears when Gil says that shes below that man (Alcides) which she acknoledges
@@masterblaster5186 well in the the mythology, she did get killed by him. When the amazones got tricked by Hera and attack Herc, he drove them off and after that, kill hippolyta due to him though that she ordered them.
Normal heracles already appeared in fate strange fake before being turned into alcides so hopefully we are having him in his heroic or at least in his alcides form one of these days. hopefully when the anime of strange fake airs
That's actually the saddest line. It's the last thing Ilya says before dying, after blinded and on death's door, crawling on the floor. she searches for Heracles hand and when she find it she says that phrase.
Love how despite of losing her reasoning and becoming a literal killing machine, everyone stills treats Basaka nicely (except of Penthe and adult Medea), I think Adult Medea hates Heracles for what happened on Stay/Night? or on that route were Kojirou had to solo Heracles using all of Medea's powers I really need to grail my Heracles on NA, he has helped me so much with a lot of fights, will wait for more events to happen soon
Actually, Medea's hatred for Heracles has something to do with their legends. Medea Lily didn't know Heracles before, and that's why she doesn't have a problem with him. Adult Medea, on other hand...
We all know Heracles would be at his best and mightiest in his Archer class. His Saber class would feature the legendary blade Marmyadose, a sword that exceeds Excalibur in every way.
If we talk about who's the most famous hero in the classical age till to this modern time, it be without in doubt, Heracles or Hercules! His legend is very highly spoken throughout the ages. There was a time that the demigod would lived a happy life with his wife Megara and their 3 sons. But in the Greek world? There no such thing as a happy ending especially being the son of Zeus. Anyone that is mortal and their father is the King of Gods always end up as the target of Hera's wrath. (Let's ignore what happened in God of War games about they turned the hero into that b*tch personal dog) If we do get someday a servant once again from the Greek pantheon. Let's really really hope that those deities personality are toned down a bit especially someone like Aphrodite or Zeus for that matter.
I mean after he died and became a pantheon of Olympus, Hera finally relented and since then has been more peacefull with him, the to even help eachother and Heracles sometime praise Hera too, one could say Hera is like a mother figure to Heracles. She even argee to let him married her daughter, goddess of eternal youth Hebe. Further more, in the Titanomachy, Heracles save Hera from one titan that wanted to rape her. But yes, all of the good time between the two happen after his mortal life end.

@@Urd-Vidan heracles has a whole bunch of dialogue in the first third of stay night as well, only in the second third, UBW, does he have no dialogue (in the anime at least)
I really would love to see him in other classes once and for all, i know his archer form is out of the count until strange/fake is over, but what about saber or rider?.

I mean, considering Kratos is a divine spirit he'd prolly have to be a pseudo servant, did they ever mention anything about him or his siblings in part 2 of Lb5? I'm NA player so i wouldn't know yet Tho he'd likely be on the side of the villains considering how it's always mentioned how he enjoyed "unnecessary violence" especially by Aeschylus His sister Nike would be perfect as an ally tho considering she's always portrayed as not much of a fighter, just good enough to drive Zeus' chariot
I'm surprised when it comes to Hippolyta's death, none of those pissed at Heracles/Herc for that don't voice their disdain for Hera and Zeus, Zeus for constantly cheating on Hera having her revenge filled mentally and Hera for taking this anger out on his kids for just being born when they didn't ask for it Hippolyta wouldn't have died if Hera didn't brainwash Herc to kill his family therefore he'd never have to do his 12 Labors
I think the author of Strange Fake asked to keep the servants he was using out of FGO until he finished his story; also I am pretty sure that same author is on hiatus right now
it really bummed me out how DW/Typemoon barely gave this guy some sort of content or general importance in story, when the dude genuienly one of known and popular hero in history. like they not even release another version of him or make story focus around him its just baffling
I feel the same way. It's such a total waste. Is he just really unpopular in Japan? I was pretty confident that he's one of the most popular mythological figures in the world. Guy should print money if they gave him a sane version and made him a 5*. But they just refuse to use him, even in stories where he'd make total sense. Are they legally required to use the Strange Fake version before any other version of him? Just save the archer version for when that story is done. Everything else is on the table DW!
Looking at how they use the big name heroes, it's probably just an unspoken rule for Nasu to avoid relying on their fame, instead going for lesser figures like Mandricardo or at least famous but not world renowned characters like Billy the Kid
Also, he's kinda too powerful in some cases, they had to make put on a spot light for the other servants. There's a reason he was killed off screen by the gods themselves in LB5. Although, I am with you, I would love Herc in a story, especially as an Ally. Man, imagine we'd get sane Herc like what happened to Caligula in LB5.5.
I kind of relate to Medea Lily's feelings here. Such a shame that we don't have a coherent Heracles. I get there is the Strange/Fake one and that they are probably waiting to get that version in. But the guy can fit into just about any class. Just do it! One of the most famous mythological figures. The reactions to a sane version of him would be enjoyable to see.
Gil has trouble making friends, and girl problems considering the history between Artoria and him. Ishtar especially. I guess that golden rule can’t give him all the treasures.
Probably helps that he's not a genocidal maniac. Even if he's effectively a monster in Fate due to being a Berserker, there's still more humanity there than with Gilgamesh.
