I straddle all 3, but mostly towards convenience and emergency. On my person I carry convenience/emergency, but in my backpack/truck I carry a map edition toolkit with some survival and other tool items.

Great topic and presentation. Mine is more convenience. I do really need to work on more of emergencies and survival for sure. I live in a small town and when I travel to a city I do add a concealed carry pistol and pepper spray. I suppose those fall under emergency and survival both.

That's..interesting. I never seen something analyzed to this degree but it does make sense. I think for me it's more just convenience. I do'nt have anything related to emergency or survival. ie I just carry a Rambler. Not sure what category mine is but I am willing to pay more for things that save me time.

My on person EDC is for convenience and minor emergencies, I have a survival kit in the front compartment of my backpack which I will wear anytime I go outdoors and will go at least a few hundred metres from home.

I'm probably functional convenience as my edc. But I do have a larger emergency pack in my vehicle. Thanks for sharing your set up

I have 3 of those, all functional. The emergency pouch goes into my backpack and survival pouch in my car.

I work in an urban area and live in a rural area----my edc is exactly that---i dont change it day, night, weekend, urban, rural-----covers gear that i would normally use plus emergency gear----my philosophy is i carry exactly same items i use daily ie flashlight, multitool, bandaids,pen,tissues,chapstick,lighter and items that i cant beg, borrow, steal in an immediate manner---ie fixed blade knife, tourniquet, paracord, handgun, oc spray options to may add another gun, or armor but will allways have edc item--- all my items are on my person at all times----no bags or pouches for edc
