Good luck in trying to get that many firearms on an FAC in one go. What you want and what you get may well be worlds apart but good luck in your application.
if you're looking at a .357 underlever, i can highly recommend the Uberti model 1873. Picked one up at the Northern Shooting Show last year and it is my favourite gun in the collection. Case Hardened with an action trigger job by A&A Gunsmiths in Skegness. Good luck with the application, hope you get them all. I had my full request of 10 approved on my first application 4yrs ago so think you'll be fine :)
Great video, even im getting giddy n im not buying lol. Been watching for a while now... still not applied yet but will do one day with this kind of guidance 🙌 was happy you talked about the cowboy guns. was in Switzerland recently shooting and got my hands on one; f'ing love em. You defo forgot one though..... Phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.
I don't know if I could justify the plasma rifle for target rifle 😂thanks for watching! I do love an underlever, have never owned one but I hope to change that soon 🙂
18 in total 🙂I know it will be something they will raise with me, I used to have 14 on there so 18 isn't a huge increase. Plus the majority of them will be stored in a gun shop.
Thanks for your time and providing so much information on shooting in the UK , I'm looking at joining a local shooting club in Greater Manchester to taking up shooting hopefully rifles and pistols, your past videos have provided lots of info for a complete novice like myself and I'm looking forward to your future vids. atb
I applied for my shotgun licence back in November 2019. Have been waiting for nearly four months for the interview date just to be informed ON THE INTERVIEW DATE at 7.00 am the interview is cancelled because of the virus thingy going on. Now I am informed it may be anything between another three months and never before I get the licence. I cannot even call BoJo to intervene because he feels under the weather. Anybody anything please?
EnglishShooting thanks mate just wondering in your county do you have to get your GP to fill out an application form thing as I have to get one from mine in Surrey
It depends on what your local police require, at the minimum the GP will be notified about you application, some police forces require them to sign off.
I'm 19 and live in Scotland, have a semi auto .22 and a few sections 2 shotguns. Absolutely love guns and keen to get more, have my eyes on an accuracy international but not sure if I want to join a club as I've been to a few inductions and there's always a big age gap. I have a huge fascination with WW2 and two rifles I've always loved from it were the PU moisin and the Kar98 K. I already have land for my .22LR to shoot vermin but the land isn't .308 certified (for the AI) if I were to obtain permission on land which was .308 certified would I be able to get one without being in a shooting club? I already hunt and cook all my kills myself and wish to do so with deer too when I move to England. Also with the 'historic firearms' like the moisin would I be able to just get them for my hunting or would I need to join some form of historic shooting competition? Thank you and best of luck getting your new firearms mate
Can target shooting be used as reasonable justification for all of those guns (Obviously not the shotty) or are some of those like the LBP/LBR, semi auto's only for practical?
I enjoyed watching this. The problem is it doesn't cover the type of gun I'm wanting Sect1 FAC for, and that's high powered air rifles. I'm a pest controller currently using sub 12ft/lb guns, but some of the pests need something a little bit more than sub 12. I need something probably rated around 30 to 35ft/lb hence the Setc1 FAC.
Question in relation to section 2 guns (rifles). Its my understanding that up tp 50.bmg is legal in the uk, but you also need to justify it? Is that right? If so, how does anyone justify a 50.bmg when a 308 or 338 will do a similar job?
Excellent Choices! I love to post your videos on my wife’s Facebook page, and see her liberal friends dumbfounded...lol! Posting these videos are mostly done for educational purposes, and helps Americans understand that firearms are not illegal in the U.K. Thanks for Sharing, Callum! 👍👍👍👍
Hey Callum, bin off the 308 for a 6.5CM does everything the 308 does, just better. Wish I would have picked up my RPR in 6.5 in retrospect. Just makes going the distance and bucking the wind so so much easier.
Great video, I was supposed to be restarting my probation period at the beginning of this month after being out of shooting for a few years, but it's been rescheduled for whenever we're all allowed out to play again. Ahhh well at least while we're all having to stay in we can't spend money :-D !!
I can't even apply for fu*k sake... my brother is in prison for guns. They won't let me. All i wanna do is upgrade my air rifle to more powerful than 12ft/lb fook sake
How can I get in to shooting with these types of guns if I'm new in to shooting & from London? I love the sport of shooting and really want to get in to it as my old man was into it too! PLEASE HELP
EnglishShooting your a legend your advice was invaluable, appreciate you and look forward to supporting by visiting your facilities and watching all your vids etc . Keep up the amazing work we’re all rooting for you
New applications have all been suspended in Norfolk. I dare say that is the situation nationwide. No FEO will be visiting to inspect a safe or carry out an interview. You'll be in for a long wait.
great thank you for the Intel and i loved your comment earlier in this upload " i need to have one " yes a 303 is certainly a firearm that must be used once in your life for the experience, just as well as a muzzle loader. A muzzle loader is something that every firearm user must experience at least once in their lives, to be able to learn and appreciate what went into the the upkeep and use of one, when you do its amazing how the rifle regiments were able to load, prime & fire these glorious tools of our history in such a short period of time & repeat this, even under fire from an opposing side, it is quiet incredible really, well i think so anyway,
And insight on FAC applications and medical history specifically, previous treatment for anxiety and depression. Been on citalopram a couple of times in my life for various reasons. 10-30mg. Been off them about 9 months now and have been planning to apply for an FAC. What are my chances? 36 yo, no criminal record, full member of my local home office club. Shoot 2 or 3 times a week and plan to get into clay shooting too. Cheers
You’re right about us Americans. My reaction to being asked to being asked by the state for a reason to make a purchase would be to say “because f*** you.” Granted I’m also trying to go back to work in Guatemala on a more permanent basis where figuring out how to get my firearms license will be extremely complicated.
EnglishShooting but we do have a lot of fun. Where else do you see people testing how many cans of Budweiser a 7MM Rem Mag will penetrate at point blank range. The answer is 9 by the way. After that the round will tumble off course.
I have a Finnish M39 in the USA, and it’s absolutely perfect. Can you get that instead of a regular Russian Mosin? Good choice on the Benelli M2. I have one for skeet/trap and it’s really good. Also have a Benelli M4 for home defense!
hey mate, I am moving to the UK soon from South Africa and hoping to continue my shooting hobby there, your videos have been extremely helpful, thank you
Do you know anyone here? As to get a licence you need to provide details of two people to act as references on your character. They must be British citizens whom you have known at least 2 years.
Perfect, I became a full member of bisley after completing the probationary course last year, in the process of filling the forms out, I’ll hold tight for your videos before sending them off 👍🏻👍🏻
You mentioned driving up to Scotland. Can you do a video on travelling with firearms in the uk and how to handle a traffic stop if you're pulled over? Id be interested in hearing the British regulations on that.
I've made a similar video before ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-svEBZDAFiAk.html but it doesn't cover driving and it's pretty old now so I'll try and film it next time we're transporting guns.
The Romanians made a pump action Akm. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6UmHMgiNQPU.html Troy had a pump action Ar at Shot Show this year. Relevant clip starts @ 1:32 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7YNVudoOq3Y.html
Good choices. Talking about LBR calibres, I was a little surprised but I was given authority for a .357, .44 and 9mm. I will be getting a 9mm Rhino once the gun shops are back open!
Holy moly, reckon you will get all 18? I was thinking‘he’s going to have to get a westlake’ whilst watching so glad it came at the end! Similar tastes to me on the guns, I can recommend a Henry All Weather for the .357 as an alternative to another Marlin. Guns I’m surprised you didn’t mention are the .22 WMR and 9mm rifle, possibly the new Chiappa CBR. What is the TRMR grenade doing in the background, are you a proper airsoft we now?
I don't see a reason why not, I have good reason for every gun and have loads of experience with the majority of them. The usual concern is security which won't be an issue as most of them with be stored in the Blue Fieldsports armoury. The .22 WMR doesn't appeal, and while I would like the 9mm I don't have a sporting need for it at the moment. I bought the TRMR to have a bit of fun at work and for filming, never actually used it for airsoft.
Great to see you applying for your FAC again, however I feel you are playing down the biggest challenge you are going to face which is getting your licence back after a revocation / surrender. I speak as someone who has been there and got my certificate back, it took 9 years for me and they dragged there heels in finally issuing the certificate through gritted teeth. Be prepared for a battle with your Fire arms department and good luck
@@varney2010 I also thought it was a lot to ask anyhow, never mind applying after a revocation. I am a member of a target club and could justify about 6-7 guns for first application. Also you would need to spend a lot of money in 5 years on 18 guns you are looking to buy, cant see the police buying that unless you are a seriously committed shooter with lots of money.
Hey buddy are you applying for all 18 in one go? I recall my first application where I asked for 7 guns, all with a reason. I got shot down and got limited to 5 guns by my firearms officer. I suppose it’s county specific and I’m in Derbyshire who are generally pretty good compared to other counties I’ve heard stories from. Assume if your going muzzle loader you will need your ‘explosive licence’ for your black powder. I have my EL renew with the s1 and s2.
Hampshire are known to be one of the worst but this isn't my first FAC and I work full time in a gun shop shooting most days so it gives me a slightly better chance. It's not black powder in the Westlakes I believe and I think you're aloud to store a certain amount of powder without a licence but I'll look into it further.
EnglishShooting wish you all the best with getting the 18 in one go. I was t aware you could get muzzleloading fire arms for nitro powder use, every days a school day.
I've not had any experience with the 6.5 but loads with .308, might have to look into it further but there is a wider variety of .308 if I go for something other than the 700.
How about getting a .22 takedown rifle? I know they are quite popular for hunters that go on like multi day hunting trips. If you wouldn't use it for that, just the takedown aspect of it is seriously cool and quite an engineering feat.
I just wanted to know one thing because I mean I don’t know much. But after you get your license and then join a club for shooting. Do you lose your guns if you have low club attendance?
Does anyone here have suggestions or info on how to go through this process in Northern Ireland and if there are any clubs? My interests would be mostly historic, as bolt actions and early semi-autos are my favourite but I'm not sure at all on how to go about getting into the hobby and what the specific process is because I know it is probably different in NI.
I also wanted to know what’s the difference between a long barrelled pistol and a handgun. Like in terms of performance and stuff if you could answer that. Thank you
@@c4four132 the list above is what Callum requested in the video. If I ever go for an FAC, I’d go for: - Smith & Wesson 15-22 - .22WMR Semi-Auto - Benelli M2 - 12G pump action - Walter P22 LBP - .357 / 9mm LBR
@@MrBADMAN2222 ah didnt watch the whole vid. My ""dream"" FAC (aside from open obviously) is 22lr semi auto 22wmr semi auto .308 straight pull 12 bore box fed semi auto (on AK platform) 410 bore ar 15 .303 bolt action .45 bolt action and if I ever managed to become HBSA member id go for a mauser schnellfeuer (in sec 7(3) )
Hey sorry if I sound dumb but do I have to be 18 to own a gun because I am starting shooting soon and I think I will really enjoy it so am just looking ahead a couple years to see if I will have to be 18
As far as I understand you can have a firearm certificate and own gun from the age of 14, but cannot buy yourself a gun until 18. You will have to have one gifted to you instead.
I want to apply for my FAC later this year and i want to get a Marlin 1894 CST in .357/38 special possibly with a sound moderator. What do you think about that?
@@EnglishShooting practical shooting at the local range, they do competitions for the range members, but i'm still on probation for now and it's getting delayed.
I mentioned a while back that there should be IPSC style comps which use a muzzle loading revolver and to reload you just swap the cylinder. Is that a thing at all because I’m interested to see what sort of comps you can do with it in the UK.
It's mostly gallery but there's nothing stopping us setting up a few IPSC stages on our range. The only issue with cylinders is you need a separate slot for each one, but as long as you can justify it you shouldn't have an issue.
18 firearms slots, not including what you’d want for your sgc. As you work in the firearms industry would you not be as well going for your rfd licence??
EnglishShooting yes I am aware of that, just thought that you pretty much work as a business in the firearms industry and if you plan on keeping a lot of the firearms at blue field sports it would make sense. Anyway, all the best, I hope you get all you want to get and most importantly keep safe and enjoy shooting 👍🏻
Hi mate, am thinking of applying for a sgc as im now 18 and have the funds to get started with it but have been putting off applying due to were i live. Ive heard from a few people that becuase of where i live i wont be granted a sgc. I live in a council estate in leicester, its not the best area but its better than most estates. I suppose my question is can i be refused a sgc due to the reason stated above? Have you heard of people being refused becuase of where they live? P.s. i have no criminal convictions nor does anyone in my household. Any help/info would be appreciated. Cheers
I've not heard of people being refused because of where they live, but I know the police can put more restrictions in place. The only alternative would be to leave the gun at a local club or gun shop. The best thing to do is phone your regional firearms licensing office and talk to an FEO (firearms enquiry officer) about it.
@@EnglishShooting ah ok, was going to go down to the local police station and ask to speak to someone about it there but will give them a ring instead. Nice one for the help
@@leonidasbull4326 It's very handy and means that there is a much wider selection of factory ammo available these days. Yes moderators still require a slot.
@@EnglishShooting I'm thinking of getting one in 357 as you have the flexibility of 38 specials or 357 magnum and also don't need moon clips. Just wondering why you were thinking of 9mm?
Same here on the Rhino. When all this virus-horror is over I'll be after one, probably in 9mm. But yeah I agree I think they look awesome. I also very much like my LBPs/LBRs to be as light as possible - so they feel closer to real handguns, albeit with some unwanted wire/extra barrel attached, rather than rifles sort of pretending to be handguns (if that makes sense). The Rhino and PPQ are both amazingly light despite the requirements of our laws.
Make sure you give Blue Fieldsports a call as I think they have them in stocK! I know exactly what you mean, the Rhino and PPQ feel very close to the non-UK versions.
i want to target shoot eventually, not interested in 22lr in anyway....pointless calibre IMO 😁, i do want FAC and a decent bolt action rifle... possibly a box fed 12ga for a touch of practical...👍
