Roll Bounce felt like a Disney DCOM. I mean, if you remember, Jump in kinda got some stuff together. 1. Somewhat light family 2. Mom's dead 3. Dad wants the son to do something else 4. Annoying little sister who will snitch on them 5. Father and son arguing than make up to the ending of the competition 6. Competition is on the line 7. Win or lose, they get respect by the bully/component 8. Get the girl at the end with a kiss 9. And both Bow Wow and Corbin Bleu had somewhat of an afro 😂 Instead of Chicago they placed Jump In to Brooklyn. But Roll Bounce didn't have this line after the argument. "Looks like we're out of milk. Imma got to the store to get some." Disney knew what they were doing with that line.

Bow Wow Really Showed Range As A Actor When He Showed Emotion

Wesley Jonathan led an acting class I went to in high school, dudes actually cool ash and took time to talk to everybody, pulled me aside and gave great notes, shoutout Wesley Jonathan man

Now this is a dance flick done right, while ATL focused on the internal conflicts between Reshad, Ant, Esquire, and Erin(NewNew), Roll Bounce dives more into the skating atmosphere making the feature just as entertaining.

Bow wow acting was on point when he busted that car up. Couldn’t help but to feel that 🤣

This movie forever got a soft spot in my heart. I bought it from the dollar 🌳 when I got my first apartment. It was the only movie I had for a months. It held me down till this day I laugh like it's the first time

I always felt like because this came out around the same time as ATL, ATL ended up changing the final skate battle scene so the movies wouldn't seem too similar

My favourite classic films are the ones where grown adult men are mean to a bunch of kids for weird egotistical reasons.

Two things: 1) Journee Smollett has never not been gorgeous. I grew up crushin on her and she’s only gotten finer. 2) When Primm said beat up his legs all I could think of was the Rick James skit: “You can buy a new couch! Roll Bounce was filmed at Skateland in Grandview, MO without the true owners permission. They used more than one house to film and one they didn’t have permission from the owner. An investigation was launched and several crimes were committed. They had permission to film but were told where to film.

My open personal head canon regarding the skating competition is this: Since Sweetness and his crew are the top of the food chain, they probably got to see the list of competitors and the songs they were skating to. As a result, they probably rigged the order of the competitors by going BEFORE X's crew and doing a high level routine to the song they were originally supposed to use for their performance. Seriously, how could The Garden Boys stack up to their performance to 'Le Freak'? The announcer/DJ (Wayne Brady) probably trolled Sweetness by calling the competition as a draw (seriously, there should've been 0 chance that X's crew was equal in skill to Sweetness' gang) because despite getting the rug pulled out from under them, X's crew was able to change songs at the last minute and adapt to it in their routine. The final showdown would've been X's victory because Sweetness was too busy showboating to the crowd while he did his solo performance to 'Get Off', but X was showing off real skill and technique; until that final move caused him to fall. Kind of sucks though because they could've walked away with $250 of the prize money, but due to losing; X and his team got NOTHING. Respect yes, but I always figured maybe X would take his $100 of the money if he had won and given it to his dad since he bought him the skates and didn't have a job... I would've been ticked off if I was Pops haha
