I think the reason he uses the truck is to collect multiple bodies at one time to store for later consumption. In other words, he can carry more than one body in his truck versus carrying them one at a time 😎
Also notice how the truck is a menacing sight and the horn is a frantic noise that you just don’t want to ever hear behind you. He marinates his victims with it. If you don’t fear it, it doesn’t work; but most people would definitely have fear in a monstrous vehicle trying to mow them down. And Creeper is counting on a confrontation, because of its immortality even if temporarily slayed. If anything, hearing the truck a second time would guarantee fear.
Maybe but here's a good question. How do you intimidate and get the most fear out of someone in the day time? Flying at night no one can see you coming. Flying during the day anyone with a gun will just blast him even if it doesn't kill him
In Jeepers Creepers "2" when the girl shoved that pole into the creature's chest then into his head he lost half his head then flew away landing on top of the bus..Still had 3-Good tires on the back why didn't they start up the bus and start driving away..👿 Not sure if it would have made a difference but she took the creature out until taking that other kids head to replace it..Would you took off with the bus if the creature could not get another body part..Or were they just sitting there waiting for the farmer to show up..🚌🦇💨
@KingOfGaymes who fckn cares, it's still a good movie. Yea the director is horrible, but should I stop liking it just because of the director? You people are dumb.
I always thought this movie reminded me of the episode of South Park where the kids were trapped on a school bus and ended up thinking of flashbacks that ended incorrectly and involved ice cream.
@@BioLights24that’s a slippery slope . Short answer no . He didn’t accidentally kill someone with his car he RAPED A FUCKING KID but if you start separating Art from the Artist you better be consistent with that very illogical way of thinking
When I think of the best creatures from creature feature horror. The jeeper creeper itself is up there with the Thing creature. They are both fascinating and could have profound cosmic horror elements. Someone should make a sequel where this thing crashes into earth at some point in time, like in Mesopotamia several thousand years ago.
Jeepers 2 should have been about the storyline of the boy missing in the family, trying to find him. Of course everyone in town don’t believe them because “ they saw a demon take their son “ but by the end of the movie they prove that the creeper is real to everyone.
Two of the most unnerving moments in recent horror movie history occur in JC2 & I don't think enough people give it credit: 1) The bus scene when The Creeper is at the back window picking off it's victims. It's sort of played for laughs with a few of the students, but that final death stare it gives directly into the camera: Eyes widen, stone faced, & fixated on it's main prize, Deaundre. The chills I got from that scene alone when I first saw the film--had I been younger, it would've given me nightmares for WEEKS! S/O to Jonathan Breck for that performance (upside down at that!) 2) After the crash in the field & The Creeper, severely injured & missing limbs, starts launching itself through the air in those jumping spurts; still desperately trying to get at Deaundre. Whether it's The Terminator, Michael Myers, or The Creeper, I always found the "unstoppable force" aspect of evil characters determined to get you no matter what at the heart of true fear. Oh, and an honarary mention for a young kid being killed off. JC2 has it's corny moments/dialogue, but visually, it does what a sequel is supposed to do by plainly laying out the stakes, slightly elevating the lore (which we assumed would be answered in Part 3), & further improving on the overall look of The Creeper. --And that setting...Perfection! JC2 has always been a classic in my book. Too bad the director, Victor Salva, is a pos & the sequels never lived up to the momentum of the first two.
@@TrippingHawk No, Salva isn't going full "rainbow flag", he's a pedophile. He was convicted of raping a boy he directed in the movie "Clown House". He never should have been allowed to work around kids again.
It needing 23 years to resurface and feed again isn't a "logic problem". There's 100 different ways that could be explained. It may simply be in forced hibernation for that long to regenerate or something similar. That doesn't really take much imagination to overcome that "logic" problem. As far as the truck -- he makes it very clear why he uses that -- to collect bodies as he can only carry 1 at a time by hand. Your "logic" apparently is akin to a farmer going out and picking a single ear of corn then returning it to his barn then going back to pick another single one. Seriously? Do better, JoBlo. Come on.
My friends said they seen jeepers creepers flying leaving Larch Mountain in Washington state and tried to run him down. I thought that was interesting so i googled it and theres a creature around that area called a batsquatch. I really would like to talk to those old friends again and bring up seeing jeepers creepers lol
he drove the truck to scare his victims since smelling their fear is how he chose his victims. just swooping down and grabbing someone wouldnt give him the fear pheremone he needs
Usually these are positive takes on good movies, suddenly it's a negative take on a good movie. I disagree with everything you have to say about this film.
I like the first and the second movie! I think they go together well. the 3rd and 4th movie are not good at all. if there is another movie it should take place after the second movie.
I disagree, I think it died after the third movie. I know loads of people were dying for a threequel with Gina Phillips going after the creeper 23 years later. Unfortunately, we got a dog shit prequel that didn’t tell us anything we wanted to know, no good kills, and god forbid, a horse drama story in a horror movie. Let’s not talk about the new one… we all know it’s bad.
Huh? Early 2000’s…. PEAK BOYBAND ERA…. PEAK ABERCROMBIE & FITCH posters…. Jesus…. There have been shirtless 20 years olds on movies since always…. JESUS!…. All the guys in CHOPPING MALL are ripped and shown shirtless as well….
@@alejandromolinac my fucking point is that while It seemed normal to us, the director was pitching a tent in his fucking pants. Did you even read what the guy did? Jesus.
Victor Salva wrote the "Every 23 years for 23 days it gets to eat" rule in Jeepers Creepers (2001) so there would be no sequel unless the movie was set in the future, and he knew the studio wouldn't want that. However Francis Ford Coppola found an easy loophole: set it during the same 23 days as the first movie. So this movie is set on the 23rd day for the purpose of not making another sequel. After the students abandon the bus and run away from the Creeper, some of the teens were to originally stumble upon an abandoned military bunker with a similar set up as the church from the first film. There, they'd stumble across the Creeper, who is in the middle of eating the dead body of an athlete. This scene was story-boarded and the set was even completely finished, but the scene was ultimately not shot. On the set, Victor Salva referred to the school bus as the "Creeper's Lunch Box." Originally Trish and Jezelle from the first Jeepers Creepers (2001) film would hunt down The Creeper for the sequel, while a school bus full of teens terrorized by The Creeper was just a subplot. But the more Victor Salva worked on the script, the more the bus plot became more interesting. So he decided to scrap Trish and Jezelle and concentrate the film on the bus instead. The Basketball team is from the fictional Bannon highschool, the same school advertised on Darry's shirt in the first Jeepers Creepers (2001). Like A Bat Out Of Hell" was an alternate title for the film at one point. Kasan Butcher, who plays Kimball "Big K" Ward, plays a 17-year-old high schooler in the film, despite the fact that he was 30 at the time of filming. Lena Cardwell and Nicki Aycox were allowed to keep their female bannon high jackets. Shaun Fleming had problems with Disney during the filming of the film because they did not agree with his participation in a horror movie while he worked for them lending his voice in some of his series. Lynda Boyd was considered for the role of Betty Borman, however she became very busy in the filming of Final Destination 2 (2003). Jack Taggart's character name is inspired by Jack Teagarden, a jazz singer who released a popular version of the song "Jeepers Creepers", which is important to the franchise. Nicki Aycox (Minxie) guest starred in a Supernatural (2005) episode entitled Scarecrow (2006). The episode featured a creature very similar to The Creeper who also pretended to be a scarecrow to attack victims. The names of the 3 cheerleaders (Minxie, Chelsea and Rhonda) were the names of some cheerleaders of the secondary school Victor Salva attended. The basketball team is called "Bannon Bantams" this in reference to Dan O'Bannon who was the writer of Alien (1979). Last entry in the Jeepers Creepers franchise to be released by MGM and United Artists. Some of the scenes including Chelsea Farmer could not be filmed because during some days of shooting Lena Cardwell was absent filming an episode of Power Rangers Wild Force (2002). The cheerleader played by Lena Cardwell is named Chelsea Farmer, however, her name is not mentioned during the movie. Originally the bus driver was to be played by a man, however it was changed at the last minute to have a female bus driver. at around 1h 22 mins) In the scene where Izzy, Double D, and Rhonda try to escape The Creeper in the wrecked exterminator truck - Izzy accidentally puts the truck into drive instead of reverse when taking off. According to Travis Schiffner (Izzy) it was completely unintentional, but the take worked well enough that it was left in the film. at around 11 mins) The bus radio states a report of a church fire four days ago. This would reference the first movie where the church was placed on fire in an attempt to burn evidence. (at around 20 mins) When Ray Wise was banging the hammer on an anvil, one of the sparks landed in his pocket and it caught fire. He performed the scene regardless. at around 37 mins) According to the director's commentary Victor Salva says he nearly cut the scene were The Creeper 'flirts' with the teens on the bus, feeling that it might be too comical for the film. However he was later glad that he didn't as it was a favorite scene with screening audiences. The Shuriken, or ninja star weapon, made out of bone that the Creeper used were made from cattle bones that were carved, varnished and welded. After the success of the film, they were donated to a museum where they have been exhibited since 2005. (at around 26 mins) The second shuriken, or ninja star-like weapon, that punctures the tire is made with the navel skin with the rose tattoo of Darry Jenner, a main character of the first film. You can see the Creeper now has brown eyes due to taking them from Darry Jenner in Jeepers Creepers (2001). The song 'Jeepers Creepers' which played into the original Jeepers Creepers (2001) film a lot is only referenced once in this film. Its tune can be subtly heard in Bennett Salvay's music score during the final image of the film. at around 46 mins) The station wagon that Taggart Sr. finds with the roof peeled back has a bumper sticker that reads "I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing." A reference to the fact that the Creeper eats parts of people to replace parts on his own body. body count (11) (at around 1h 30 mins) Taggart Sr. stabbed the Creeper's chest 34 times for the loss of his son before the Creeper wailed and yielded into submission. He ended his 35th strike using his handmade harpoon that was lodged in the Creeper's head. at around 6 mins) For the scene in which the Creeper drags Billy Taggart through the cornfield, two shots were used: one in which Breck dragged a doll and another in which he dragged a double. According to Director Victor Salva the inspiration for the character of Jack Taggart Sr. was Captain Ahab in Herman Melville's Moby Dick. At one point Taggart was even supposed to quote Ahab ("from hell's heart I stab thee") in his showdown with The Creeper, but this was not included in the film. at around 3 mins) In the first scene, before the Creeper appears, Jack Taggart Jr. is working underneath a truck. The device he uses to slide underneath it is commonly referred to as a "creeper". at around 16 mins) Lena Cardwell initially refused to smoke with the other cheerleaders; she was eventually convinced to do so by the producers, but in the final footage you can see her look of disgust after smoking. One of the reasons why The Creeper did not want to murder the cheerleaders is that Victor Salva did not want to overuse the monster cliché of capturing women. But he still wanted The Creeper to capture the host Betty because the absence of all adults would make teen survival more interesting. Marieh Delfino dyed her hair a reddish hue to play Rhonda while Nicki Aycox dyed her hair blonde to play Minxie. After eating parts of its victims, the Creeper sews them with thick thread and exhibits the cadavers as "art" in its lair. After it is defeated, Taggart sews the dismembered parts of the Creeper in the same way, displaying its body. at around 1h 35 mins) The soundtrack of "The House of Pain" that is heard when Darry and Trish arrive at the church in the first film, can be heard when Tourists talk with Jack Taggart Elder about "The Bat Out of Hell". Victor Salva portrayed his teenage characters as representations of various stereotypes: Racist (Scotty), Homosexual (Izzy), Latina (Rhonda), Homophobic (Jake), African-American (Double D and Chelsea) and bullied (Bucky). Victor Salva decided to portray topics such as racism and discrimination against homosexuals in the script. at around 33 mins) When Taggart listens to the radio in search of some report of kidnappings, he listens to the radio "I repeat ... Related to Poho and everyone knows what I mean" This is a song to refer to the events of the first Jeepers Creepers (2001). Originally it was planned that the song "Jeepers Creepers" would be heard in the movie, but in a rock version. This was scrapped however this rock version can be heard in the trailer for the film. The opening of the final scenes of this movie, a vehicle traveling on a road, making a bend to the left, mimic the opening scene of the first movie.
I always thought that at the end of Jeepers 2 when the monster is asleep and tied up in that barn... a better idea would be to chop it up. Arms off, legs off, head off, wings off... leaving the torso as another separate piece. Place each piece inside a solidly locked chest wrapped in chains and all sorts of sh*t... ... and bury the boxes as far away from each other as possible. If you can't kill the Creeper, you can sure as hell separate it whilst it's in it's sleep-state and make sure it can't put itself back together again. Hell, I'd go as far as taking the arms and legs, and separating those into 3 pieces by chopping them at the elbow/knee, and the wrist/ankle joints as well, and burying those in boxes too. And bury all the pieces as deep as possible while I was at it. --- One thing I wouldn't do... is wrap an immortal monster in barbed wire and hang it on the wall of my barn and just wait for it to wake up.
I liked this one a lot more then then the first. Its stationary and not much new added but Ray Wise is great and his character was engaging. Justin Long was hard to like especially when he does stupid shit. Who the hell would look into a tunnel where you think a body was dropped? Beyond annoying and really let's the film down.
Jeepers Creepers 2 is one of those rare sequels which manages to remain worthy of the original whilst expanding upon the lore without detracting from the intrigue and mystery. Sadly and somewhat predictably, it was the third film in the series where the ball got dropped. This isn't to say the third film was completely void of originality, only that unfortunately, the filmmakers failed to incorporate these new concepts & ideas with any degree of finesse. All this said, compared with the cinematic abomination which is Jeepers Creepers Reborn, Jeepers Creepers 3 is a legitimate masterpiece lol
I loved hack the movies intro to their worst JC MOVIE review Where they broke it down about a Creeper who's after the souls of young boys......and the movie wasn't bad either
It's weird, I enjoy the premise of the creeper as a villain, but it's like finding out you picked a child molester's pie at a baking contest you were judging.
the first scene with the truck chase in the first installment wasn't original....they copy that frame by frame from unsolved mystery's reenactment that probably cost them 1000 bucks to create.
And jeepers 2 was still decent, just being weighed against an unreal awesome first film and that critic that gave 2 a positive but saying 1st sucked has a boyfriend
2nd one was complete crap and they just got worse after that, can’t touch the original, the creeper had more carefully selected his prey in the first one, the 2nd one it was going after everyone, they really destroyed a potentially great series
